these are hilarious! and so true!!

-you are shocked at how long your hair has gotten when you finally have time to take it out of a ponytail

-you fly into a rage when grandpa is unable to keep them awake for the last 3 minutes of a car ride home and as a result the afternoon nap is ruined

-you don't wear makeup on days you aren't leaving the house(and on some days when you are) because washing your face is just one more thing that you will have to wash before you can go to bed

-you have to wash 2 highchair trays 5 times a day and feel like you can't leave the house because it is constantly meal time

Wow, those take me back! So true! Even with one right now my hair is in a ponytail, unwashed, my face is un-made up, and I'm SOOOOO sick of mealtime.

These were awesome! I really enjoyed reading them. Great post!

    - you find yourself doing everything twice, everything twice.
    - you turned off phone service to the house and keep your cell on vibrate so as not to risk waking nappers.
    - you find yourself counting everything you buy, time you spend and photos you take of each baby so as not to seem favoritist towards one over the other.
    - you no longer have to feed your dog, she gets plenty from the high chair cast aways.
    - you load more stuff into the car to go shopping than you actually plan to buy while there.
    - you think a backpack is a perfect diaper bag/purse combo and you could care less if it matches your shoes or not.

    i thought of one more...

-going to the grocery store by yourself counts as personal time, and you get excited about it![IMG]

I second the "add 15 minutes" thing when you go out -- DH and I have just stopped taking them grocery shopping and one of us just goes by ourselves because we can't get out of the store in less than an hour and a half because everyone in this stinkin city MUST know their life story.

    - You have actually put a sign on their stroller that reads:

    • Yes, we are twins.
    • No, we are not identical.
    • Yes, we were early.
    • B was 6lb4oz, K was 5lb10oz
    • No, we did not have to go to the NICU.
    • Yes, Mommy and Daddy sleep at night.

    I'm so not kidding, either.

You begin to think that your twins are the first set of twins in history, due to the constant looks of first shock, then adoration on strangers faces.

You know every twin, mother of twins, sibling of twins, child of a twin, etc. in town because they have all come up to you at the local diner and introduced themselves!

    - You joke with people about buying stock in paper towel/toilet paper/formula/diaper companies but in the back of your mind you think you should seriously check into doing it.

haha! i'm starting to think of our local target store as the twin meet-up place because every time i go a twin mom comes over and introduces herself and her kids. it's actually been nice, they've all been so encouraging and during the really tough days these complete strangers kept my spirits up.

When your family looks shocked that you don't rock them to sleep. Are you serious there are two of them!!

when you realize that it is easier to just let them play in their diapers that way you don't have to change clothes all day.

You can change one baby with the other one holding on to you like a monkey waiting for her turn.

You shovel in baby food at the speed of light so the other baby does not start fussing.

You have so many baby bottles sometimes they get a little moldy sitting on the counter. OOPS!

When one of the babies wakes up even their 4 year old brother can identify who it is by the sound of their cry.

you can pick up, hold, feed, burp, rock two babies and surf the web on your lap top pretty much at the same time, okay the you can't really surf the web till they fall asleep, but we are pretty amazingly organized at caring for two at a time.

You can't just "go" shopping...or just buy "anything"...
you have to plan ahead, which stroller will fit with groceries...which stroller will fit with the superyard you need to buy...nope, no room to "swing" into the grocery store...

Packing for two is hard, but I have found packing for one is mind numbing...I have to pack for two in my head and divide in half...yes, I'm serious!

These are great! I can't wait to read more!!

i had another one come up today

you can soothe two babies who just got vaccinations at the same time, and calm them down in the same amount of time it would have taken to calm just one.
