When did you stop washing all their clothes prior to them wearing?

Do I have to continue to do this forever??!! I have enough laundry! And how long did you use Dreft and not regular detergent?

I'm still washing before wearing. I read somewhere to use Dreft until they started solids, then use a Free detergent until they started table foods, then just regular detergent. We still have Dreft, so I'm still using it, but then switching to Tide Free. I'll probably keep washing before wearing for a long time - really that's the recommendation even on adult clothing.

I quit as soon as they came home from the hospital and I realized this was a JOKE and there was NO WAY I was going to keep up that charade of washing all the baby stuff separately and in baby detergent!

Never bought another bottle and have used regular TIDE ever since. I never wash new clothes before they wear them either. I have had no issues whatsoever and I'm sooo glad I'm not hung up even more than I already am by having to do this laundry stuff.

I think it's totally unnecessary and it even kind of ANNOYS me that I hassled with it and washed all of their gazillions of clothing before I had them.. cuz in hindsight, I'd have returned half of it!

ANywhoo.. I quit when they were 4 days old.
