Was everyone on bed rest?

We had mono/dis with TTTS, and I had cervical issues, so yes, I was on bedrest by 21 weeks.

Obviously, everyone is different. You do what you have to do. Bedrest is hard in varying degrees for people, but it's temporary and worth it if required. My only tips would be to avoid trying to be SuperPregnantMom or the whole bit that makes women competitive over making pregnancy look easy/I-make-pregnancy-look-easy routine.

Here's to a happy, healthy pregnancy!

Everyone is different. I felt really great until right after 20 weeks when I started having contractions. At 24 weeks I went on modified bedrest (hanging out of the couch rest) and meds to slow down the contractions (first procardia, then terbutaline). At 30 weeks I went into ptl and was admitted to the hospital for some mag sulfate and was dilated 4cm. I went home on strict bedrest until 34 weeks (only allowed to get up to go to the bathroom and was allowed to shower 5 minutes a day). At 34 weeks the meds all stopped working and I was having contractions every 3 minutes. Since the girls were both breech they delivered them. I don't think there was anything I could have done different in the early weeks of pg to stop what happened later. As long as your healthy and doing well and you feel like your doctor is on top of everything, enjoy your pg! GL!

I was on almost three weeks of bed/couch arrest starting at 31w2d due to Pregnancy Induced Hypertension. I had been afraid the whole time that my cervix would shorten/dilate and lead me to delivering/bedrest early. Nope, cervix was 3-4+ cm long and closed the whole time! My dang blood pressure leading to IUGR with my Baby B, lead to their early delivery at 34w0d.

I had no bedrest and delivered my twins at 35 1/2 wks (had a C-section due to one's IUGR that started around 32 wks). However, I did stop exercising & I cut back on my work hours starting around month 6. I was just really, really tired all the time, so all I wanted to do was lie around anyway! But I was 36 when I had my twins, so maybe being old had something to do with that.
