My 3 yr old has been saying he has a Tummy Ache now for a few days...but has no fever, and doesn't seem any less active.

I pushed on his tummy a little & he said ouch ouch but then when I touched his arm & head & hands etc....he said the same thing so I thought he was just being goofy.

This morning he did not want to eat breakfast but he did eat all of the other meals of the day just fine.

Tonight when I was putting him to bed, he said he had a tummy ache again so when he was not looking I pushed on his tummy & he cringed & he seemed to be genuinely in pain.

So tonight I sit here and wonder what the heck it could be....anyone have any stories to share? What do you think?

I plan to call the Dr. tomorrow

We are having a similar issue with one of my boys.  No pain when we push on our guy's tummy, but he's been complaining of tummy aches for the last week or so.  We've tried ginger ale, children's pepto bismol, etc., and not much seems to help.  He's been laying around a lot more than normal, not eating at much, etc.

I was thinking about making a similar post tonight to what you did....so I'm interested to see what people have to say.

I did call the doctor, and they suggested a visit if it doesn't clear up in the next few days with the things we are trying.  They said it could be constipation (which I don't think based on how he's been going), a virus, or something else.

This happens to my son from time to time. He won't want to eat, or even sit down at the table to eat because he says his tummy hurts. I have found that it is usually gas or a need for BM that causes it. So, when he complains of a tummy ache I encourage him to walk around, drink water and eat lots of raisins to help move things along. In the case of gas I try to pinpoint the offending meal item and limit that food for a while. No speedy solutions, unfortunately.
