Heather, you are woman, and therefore STRONG! Please keep us posted and come back to tell us how it went!

Sorry you felt attacked for a bit! Unfortunately everything online is open to interpretation! I hope you won't let this scare you away! You are one of my "class" of expecting (your first time out) and would hate to see you disappear because of this!!)

You are an amazing woman, and mother. I'm sending up prayers that this will be an uneventful trip for you and that the kids do well in the plane. Please let us know how it goes. Needless to say if I ever need to travel with my two I'll know who to go to for advice after this trip. :)

, or at least put the two yr old in the row across from you in a car seat and maybe leave the other one in your row to sit on their own. If you put one 2yr old by the window, 10 mo old in center, then you and lap child, then across the row the other 2 yr old in a car seat, that will be the best, just make sure it doesn't impede the way out for people seated in her row.

I'm not an expert, but in my experience, car seats can not be in an aisle seat at all as passengers can't get by. Maybe this is different in a center row since they could exit the other way? I would just hate to get on board with a plan and have the flight attendant say it's not allowed. If it's possible, it's a great plan (except that the two year old in the car seat will have their legs against the seat in front of them - but can't have everything).

Sometimes thats the case. It can be different on each aircraft. I let passengers put it in the aisle seat before if it didn't block the way out. I don't believe that one is an FAA reg, that one may be an airline to airline rule. I will ask dh..

I just want to wish you luck.
Bring lots of snacks on the plane. My girls didnot really watch the DVD on our last flight. There was too much else to do look at. You may also want to save any toy catalogue that you get and let the older set read on them on the plane.
    Good luck.

Where is your layover? and when?

If you are flying into Kansas City I would be more than happy to drive to the airport to help you for an hour. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help!

Sorry if this is a repost (i didn't read all the others) What about asking a friend to help you. Do you have anyone that could take some time off and come with you. Good luck! You should be proud of yourself!

As someone who took her children on a 30 hour one way straight through drive in a rented camper to have her children meet their great grandmother (we were not even gone 1 complete week due to the camper rental and with 60 hours of driving it was totally a crash course visit) I just want to tell you the thing I found to be of the absolute most importance......patience!!! You must have your whits completely about you and have your patience at the highest level ever in your life probably. Just plug along.....one thing at a time and know that your trip will reap huge rewards. My grandmother passed away 6 days after we returned home, I have never been soo happy to do something soo challenging in my life to date.

I hope the trip goes well for you and no matter what happens......don't ever let them see you sweat......they will totally feed off of that. Plan everything to the utmost ahead of time like you are and then let the chips fall where they may as the adventure unfolds.

    Have a safe trip!

So this is my tips. YOu can put all the kids in a double stroller. I do it all the time. What about going to the dollar store and getting different toys and ever little while they will open a new toy something like x-mas. I thnk that 2 year olds would love that. I also think that the people will help you carry things to your next flight. You you are going to bring snacks make sure it will keep them busy, something like fruit snacks or snack packs because it just takes longer for that. What about something for the kids for feeling sick. My 2 year old boys throw up on long car rides and if 2 are sick it will be that much harder. They have daramine for kids. My kids like to color so some coloring books would be nice. I wouldn't bring to much stuff because you are going to have your hands full with the kids.

Also the DVD player is the best thing.

Have fun and sorry about all the negative comments. You are going to be just fine on the plane. I have two set of twins and think its great that you are going by yourself on the plane. Good luck!

I think that it will be fine no matter what. I did ask two of my girlfriends if they could go with us if I payed for everything, they just can't do it.

I'm not sure what to say because there have been a lot of good tips.

I've travelled 3 times now by myself with my twins and singleton from Israel to the US. This past summer we had a layover in Switzerland and it was, like you'll have, also about one hour. I wasn't sure how we'd work it, but it was actually a nice break from the clostrophobic feeling on the plane.

Try your hardest to pack your carry-ons lightly. Your 2 hour flights will go by in a snap because it takes 30 minutes to get up in the air and 30 minutes to land... you'll have an hour to entertain the kids... and maybe you'll be lucky and some of them will sleep.

I highly recommend to check 3 of your carseats at the ticket counter. Take one for one of the 10 month olds. It's a HUGE pain to lug those around. When the fasten seatbelt light is off, you're 2.5 year olds can stand up and stand next to you... or sit on the floor next to you. Even if they "get away from you" they won't get into trouble. Depending on their personalities, you can make them feel like "big kids" by setting some rules and allowing them to walk in the isle near you.

I'm sure most passengers will try to be helpful because it's such a short flight... not like a red-eye flight where people expect to be able to get their sleep.

Another tip... if you can avoid putting bags in the overhead, you'll be better off. Take a back pack and keep it by you so that you have access while you are sitting.

Good luck and may the force be with you!
