Yay!! Finally caught up! We've been iTunes-ing it and were trying for the longest time to figure out how to watch it on our tv instead of Justin's iPad. Success!!

And I agree Rick's decision about Carol was ballsy but I think he was right that she couldn't come back, unless we wanted to watch Tyreese kill her.

I also think the governor's our rat boy.

It was so funny this last episode - I kept saying they can't kill Glen like this they just can't!! But then when they didn't actually do it I felt a little disappointed that they wussed out. :pardon:

Michonne definitely lost a baby at some point. I hope we get more backstory there.

Im so over the governor. I really wish they'd finished that last season and had a new big bad for this season.

I also don't understand how they couldn't have been anticipating the illness thing and stocking up on antibiotics wherever they could find them. Especially with a doc AND a vet in the group.

Does anyone know when the mid season break is?

Rachel, I would imagine the mid-season break is coming soon.  I don't know when then though.  Usually they have the break and come back in February.
Glen is not one of my favorite characters, so I did feel like they wussed out in not killing him.

Rant: I was SO excited to watch my first live episode last night. What a boring show! I realize from time to time you have to have an episode like this to set up for what's to come, etc., but it was SO slow. We didn't even get to see what was happening at the prison either. Disappointing!

David Morrissey could be Liam Neeson's brother. They look a lot like in some ways.

Kim, I felt the same way.  I don't think we needed a whole episode dedicated to the Governor though David Morrissey was excellent throughout.  It looks next week's episode is more adventures with the Governor.
And yes, he does have a strong resemblance to Liam Neeson!
They are dragging out Darryl's reaction to Carol's ouster.

I don't like this detour into Governor territory. This whole season has been a lot character interruptus; we get a bit of story, and then we have to wait weeks to see how it turns out. I think it's starting to fall into the same trap that True Blood got into with the multiple story lines, although maybe everything will come together nicely.

Agreed!  And if they're trying to make the governor a sympathetic character, I'm pissed.  As I said, I'm so over him.  Honestly, what does he expect to happen at the prison??  That is not going to go well, no matter what.

Well I guess I'm odd man out because I loved the governor episode! I like how complex they're making his character. And when I saw the actor on talking bad - he is so hot.

I hope he takes Rick out!!

Well who watched? I did (although distracted by my mom who kept talking to me while it was on but that's okay). At first I thought it was going the route of last week's show but then holy moly! The Governor is one sick, sadistic bastard. Wow.

I knew the Govenor could not stay nice.  It will be interesting to see how these events take a turn.  I thought that little girl was going to bite the dust and just send him over the edge.

At least they brought it all together in a short time frame, but we still don't know what Daryl thinks of Carol. Next week is going to be a doozy.

We all know the "Good" Governor could not last for long.  It was definitely a return to form for him.  Next week should be an action packed episode.  I've been worried for Hershel all season (let the nail biting commence).

I'm loving it, I'm so glad my favorite evil governor is back. I can't wait to see him wreak havoc on the prison next week. As long as he doesn't kill Darryl I'm cool with it!

So what do y'all think will happen tonight? I'm not holding out hope for the Governor killing Rick off but I hope he at least gets in the prison. Maybe they will let him join them. Probably not with Michonne there. I know this is probably the Governor's last episode but I'm holding out hope.

Maybe Carol will be back tonight as well. Maybe Carol will be the one who takes out the Governor. It would be so much cooler if she took out Rick though.

    I watched it.

I was so angry that Herschel died.  So angry.  All of my favorite characters are getting killed off from my shows this year.   :grr:

At that point, sorry Aimee, I was hoping for Rick, Darryl, Michonne or anyone to give him an awful death.   David Morissey played a good role with the Governor though.   Now I just wonder what happened to Baby Judith.  Meagan's death was sad but I had a feeling she was not going to make it.

Still angry about Herschel.  Stupid Glen is still alive though. :grr:

It was a depressing episode IMO. If I was in this place I think I'd just commit suicide!

Ugh there's just no silver lining in this show.
Seeing Judith's bloody car seat made me so mad. Even the baby had to die?

Seriously this whole season made me angry....  Why even create a sickness, why bring the govenor back.  It was a big waste.  Anyways... here is my heartlessness...  Thank goodness the Govenor killed someone, and I am glad it was Hearshall and not Mishonne.  I was happy they did not all live in harmony. I knew that Meagan was goign to bite the dust because nobody was  ever keepong an eye on that girl.  I was hoping the Govenor would at least get eaten by zombies but nooooo  he got to go out the easy way.  I do not think Baby Judith is dead, I think somebody that was shot picked her up, but lets be honest a baby is just bringing everyone down.  Howabout those kids banding together to shoot someone.  Good kids!!!

I hate that Herschel is gone too. When they cut away on Darryl nearly getting eaten by zombies I was seriously standing up with the remote pointed at the TV ready to quit the show forever if he died too. So they're on the road, scattered to the wind. Did they have some sort of emergency meeting point? Seems like if they had an emergency bus they might have thought of that too? However, I am not super confident that they have any planning skills at all, so it remains to be seen.

In terms of storyline, I think the prison falling had to happen. It's thinning out a bunch of characters that were diluting the storyline, forcing them back on the road so we see how easy it must be for everyone to lose contact. Maggie and Glen are separated; it will be interesting to see how that plays out. Will the people on the bus (who are mostly weakened from flu) be able to survive?  I am sure we'll see Carol again at some point; maybe she'll take people in? Or not? I still think the little rat weirdo is going to come back to haunt us and I still think it's the weird girl.

I am glad the governor's dead. That storyline was a waste of time to me, and I can only look at it in terms of forcing the story forward. We didn't need the multiple episode arc of him redeeming himself and his whole complicated good/evil thing. Hopefully Herschel acknowledging Rick's moral evolution puts that to rest as well.

Looking forward to seeing the rest of the season. Anyone know when it starts up again?

It said Februray is when the show comes back.

Chrissy is right, the show returns 2/9.

The show could not stay in the Prison forever, something was going to force them out of there.  As upset as I am about Herschel, I figured it would be unbelievable that they'd be able to survive with him on the run with one leg.  Scott Wilson really was excellent on the show.
I am hoping Judith is not dead.  Again, though, how could they survive long with a baby on the run?  I am wondering if the Bob the medic and Sasha took her.  He did have a bullet wound to the shoulder...

I thought it was a nice touch that kids saved Tyrese's life thanks to the lessons Carol taught them at book club.

Do you think it is one of the kids that was feeding the zombies rats and dissecting bunnies?  Who could have been doing that at the prison?

Apparently Judith dies at this point in the comics, so if the show follows the comics.. at least they had the good sense not to show that. That would have been awful.

There's a theory out there that the girl actually killed the flu victims and Carol took the blame to cover for them. I don't know, as they showed a flashback of Carol doing that. I still remember the one girl (who saved Tyrese last night) getting all obsessed about them killing the one zombie that had a nametag, and so I still stand by my theory that it was her who was feeding the rats to the zombies.

Herschel made me a little nuts so I am not especially sad. I saw it coming. Glad Michonne was the one to kill the Governor. That seemed right. I love the loose ends of this mid-season finale. Where is everyone and what will happen as they try to find each other? I thought it was pretty awesome. And it's about time they left that stupid prison.

I am just glad that Daryl and Glenn have survived the cut so far. I wish Carole would come back.

I am glad they have split up, I really like the idea of them going off and starting anew with others.  But really who is cutting all the grass?  Doesn't it get cold in Georgia? What about the voices on the radio?

Devon bought me the graphic novels last year for Chistmas but I started reading them but stopped bc I did not want to ruin the series.  I can probably start back up.

Yeah, as I understand it in the comics, the Governor kills both Judith and Laurie.  So I think Judith is dead.  On the flip side, I also know that if you don't actually see a dead body in tv all bets are off.  On the other hand, I can't imagine they'd get a baby getting eaten (literally) past the censors.  So, ya, I don't know.  I give it 50/50.

Holy crap.  I literally finished the episode about 3 minutes ago and feel like I'm still reeling.  I was really annoyed with the whole Governor arc these last couple of episodes but then I realized his story is the most tragic in a way. He essentially CHOSE to not come back - he chose to let go of all hope and faith and it poisoned everyone and everything around him.  It was his own internal struggle that damned him - not external forces (although those did play a catalyzing effect).

I'm very interested to see how things progess now wtih everyone scattered.  How quickly (or not) they'll bring the storylines back together.

Beth and Daryl?  Eh?? Eh???? :p

And the girl who loves zombies is totally the psychopath.  She is bad news.

Wait who is the girl who loves zombies?

And whenever Tyrese took Rick to show him something in the prison - what was it? I could not tell what it was and I haven't rewatched it.

Aimee, it was rabbit corpse split in half and hung on the wall.
I don't know the girl's name but she was the one drawing the picture of the zombie they had outside with a name tag on it.

  26. AimeeThomp

    AimeeThomp Well-Known Member TS Moderator

Why would someone kill a rabbit and hang it on the wall?
Do y'all think the point of it was to try to lure in the zombies or someone at the prison is just killing little bunnies and is a psychopath?

  27. miss_bossy18

    miss_bossy18 Well-Known Member TS Moderator

I think they're trying to establish that someone is a budding psychopath/sociopath/serial killer as, theoretically, they start out by torturing and dissecting small animals, before moving up to larger animals, before moving up to humans.

Is the zombie lover girl the same one who armed the kids and shot the lady in the head? The oldest girl? I think that was right, but I can't remember exactly.

And I could get behind Beth and Daryl, but I am with .... someone.. (I thought it was Nancy, but reading back I don't know where I heard the idea!) on liking the chemistry between Daryl and Michonne. That would be one kickass power couple.

  29. Mama_Kim

That's the girl. The oldest of the two daughters that Carol was looking out for. Is she the budding sociopath?

I think it's her. But for now, it's all a mystery.

Yay, Michonne and Daryl would be totally kick ass and would totes live happily ever after so that's why the writers'll probably pair him with Beth. That is a relationship fraught with angst and insecurity. Much more interesting. ;)

I did not but I think he's way hotter than the sexiest man of the year this year Adam from Maroon 5 guy.

Not to derail our thread here, but when I look at Adam Levine, I feel like I need a Silkwood shower afterwards...he looks like a walking petri dish.   What were the editors of People thinking????

Norman Reedus, sexiest man alive, I support that 200%  Especially since he was photographed with his black cat who is named Eye In The Dark and that just ups his sexiness quotient for me (coming at this as biased cat Mommy of a black cat).
