My water broke at 37 weeks and both babies had turned but I wasn't dilated and the contractions were so mild I couldn't feel them at all. The doctor gave me a choice - they'd do a C-section or induce. Yikes! I eventually, with some guilt, chose the C-section. I had a fear that I'd labor and labor and then have one anyway, which I'd heard from other women makes recovery much more difficult. OR, that I'd end up with a vaginal birth AND a C-section.

I know some women feel cheated after having one, but I thought it was great! I had a lot of help afterward, so that made a difference, but I still got around pretty well. It really does help to stand up as soon as you can (with assistance). I actually like my scar in a way - it's a sort of memento.

A month later, my gallbladder acted up and I had to have that taken out, so there was a lot of surgery going on for a while.

My car had more trouble than I did - I wasn't allowed to drive for a while during the healing process and my MIL and FIL managed to run into things and dent and scratch it.

    Good luck!
