THANK GOD i got the Mirena put in 2 weeks ago AND don't have sex. I would just DIE.

Congratulations to you! I am sooo amazed at how many peeps have oops pregnancies after twins. My twins were all of the birth control I'll EVER need! LOL.

Sounds like you're the man for the job tho, good for you!

Oh, Lisa - I'm so happy for you! I remember following your IVF progress on the other message board, and I am so glad that you were able to get pregnant on your own - even if it's going to be a wild ride for you for the next few years! :clapping:

I hope you have a very healthy and uneventful pregnancy and an on-time delivery! Congrats!!! PS: there's a part of me (I think it's a crazy part  , but nonetheless) that wishes the same thing would happen to me. I would love to have more kids, but I don't know if I could go thorugh IVF again.

    Congratulations!!!

Same thing happened to me but the reverse. I was trying to get pregnant and after FOUR years (without any help) I had a beautiful boy. I was BF'ing and had my first period after 8 months and got pregnant again with twin girls. Life is really crazy with 3 under the age of two but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I am just thinking what a great time they will have playing together when they get a little bit older.

Congrats!! That's great that you got pg on your own. We did fertility treatments for almost 6 years before we had the twins and I also got pg on my own in may. We didn't think we needed BC either.

Lisa. O my God!!! first let me say CONGRATULATION to you. and I am really happy for you even if it sound scrazy and scared.
I just think that every women who got kids through IUI/IVF want that little mirracle to happened to be pregnant on their own. ( at least I really want to just got suprise and act as a normal without all that roller coasters )
Just think another way. yes it would be hard, but from another point of view it would be great. twins make the big difference. i am sure that twins would play with each other and this will make you life easy. about sleepless nites :) you will be already accustom to them :) but you don't need to go over through it again in a couples of years.

and I just need to think if I need to be more carefull :) or leave it as is and hope for surprise like yours:)

Thanks again everyone! I got my bloodwork back from the Doc and my hcg level is 1197 which puts me right around 6 weeks - according to my LMP I should be 5 weeks and 5 days so that puts me about right on. My progesterone level is 20.7 and according to AmericanPregnancy.org the range is 9-47 so that sounds good too. The nurse said she usually has people come in 48 hrs later for a re-draw and I was ok with that until I heard the price. I asked her if she knew how much it was going to be (the billing lady was out this morning and I figured I was going to do it either way so I'd figure out the price but didn't think it would be too bad). She said she knew the hcg draw was 71.00 per draw and she wasn't sure about the progesterone. She is going to call me back. YIKES! Right now we're living off my husband's unemployment until he goes into the Army in a couple weeks so that really takes a bite out of our funds. The nurse said the numbers sounded good and she'd talk with the Doc and see if she's ok with me just waiting until my first appointment. I'd love to get the re-draw to make sure it's going up but honestly it's a lot of money, the numbers look great for where I'm at so it looks like things are going well, and many women don't even get bloodwork - they just wait and go to their first appointment...what do you guys think?

Wow! That is a lot of money. I would probably just wait. It will feel like a long 4 weeks, but you can do it!

You can call me Clueless because I never heard of going in to have hcg and progesterone blood work done before the first appointment. ;) Since that is a lot of money, I would probably wait. Congratulations!!

I have 3 under 20 months. 17 months apart. It is tiring the first couple of months with the night feeds but yeah great if you can get a good sleep schedule going. At 3.5 months she sleeps from 6 pm until 3 am --- everyone is in bed by 6:30 pm. I have the girls in daycare one day a week which is just the best present to me. I have tried to set up 3 things a week that we go to, and that seems to help me from going stir-crazy. I'm really enjoying ONE newborn and bf is so much more enjoyable as well. I had a third girl and all I needed to buy was a stroller, crib, and a matress protector. I've had to buy a few outfits since the girls were born in different seasons. PM me if you need any advice.

I totally get why you want the bloodwork Lisa, we were so lucky to be so closely monitored through our last pregnancy, it's scary to go with less. But if you can do it, try to wait, you can change your mind later, right? I'm a "NEED" to know person, but that is expensive. Can you get the blood draw through another agency? Maybe a planned parenthood? Or can you work on a sliding fee at the doctors office?
Which of the two options is going to stress you less? Needing to know, or your wallet...I'd pick the less stressful one!
And congrats again...please keep us posted!

Well the nurse called me back and the Doc said she was happy with the hcg numbers so I don't need a repeat test (looking at it though it kind of makes me think maybe it's a little low or I'm not as far along because I always read that you can see the heartbeat after 10,000 hcg and I've always seen the heartbeat at 6 weeks. SO I'm trying not to worry - just trying to tell myself the dates may be off. I've never in my life ovulated on CD 14 so why would I start now. Unless when the nurse said eleven ninety-seven she meant 11,097. I think she's calling back today to give me the cost of the tests so I'm going to double check with her. Also, the Doc said my progesterone is on the low side of normal so she wants me on Prometrium for 4 months - twice a day. I forgot to ask the dosage (DH is picking up the scrip today) but for the 100mg it's 114.00 for a month and for the 200 mg it's 214 or something like that. CRAZY! We're going to be a little broke this month. I still have to get school supplies for oldest DS. I am just praying all is well. I almost wish I didn't know the numbers and it could be totally normal but since she's putting me on the Prometrium I am glad I got tested and I'd rather err on the side of caution, KWIM? Just praying all goes well with this little surprise miracle.

Wow! I hope it's the 100 mg dose! Just one more month and it will be $9 at most! Make sure you only get one month right now. Glad you don't need more blood work done!

Ha Ha congratulations! I laugh because when my daughter was 6 mos old I found out I was preggo- with twins! Now my DD is 18 mos and my twins are just 3 mos. Life is crazy!! I know it will be well worth it soon (still waiting) but, yes, life is funny. Best of luck and know that you are not alone!

My twins and my daughter are one year and 17 days apart...I had just started sleeping again lol. It won't be easy, but just like the twins you will get through it one day at a time. Congrats and good luck!

LOL Yes - this is an old post. :) Thanks everyone though. I've got about a month left till our new little man is due and I can't wait to meet him! It will definitely be an adventure with the twins and a newborn but the twins have come such a long way since July and I am hoping everything goes smoothly. We visited my sister a few weeks ago and she just had a baby and they were both very good with her baby. Walker kept wanting to give her nice hugs and kisses and he does the same with my belly SO hoping all will go well with new little brother. Jocelyn kind of does her own thing but she really likes to help. I think she'll be Momma's little helper. SO if any of you get pregnant during the first year - yes it's a shock and overwhelming but completely doable. Now I can't comment on the newborn part yet LOL but anyway - thanks again for the congrats!
