well, i am going to add a few things that are not necessarily "baby" related, but that saved my life :

1 - those disenfectant wipes for quick cleaning. You won't have time to spare w/2 bub's so anything to help clean is wonderful. I use them on the kitchen, bathroom, toilets, sinks...LOVE them.

2 - if you are going to BF, get some type of lanolin nipple cream. I didn't BF long, but it was great to have...and it works really well on foot callouses too! [IMG]

3 - TWO bouncy chairs. Fantastic for double feeding. Sit on the floor, set a bouncy on either side and feed the babies. No need to prop.

4 - Podee's are great for getting out, but some babies don't do well until they are a little older and can suck better.

    Good luck with your babies!!

2 things I didn't see listed that we got for Christmas and wish we had gotten sooner.

Twilight turtle: can be used as a nightlight, or when you want to entertain one in the dark while changing the other etc

Sleepy time Sheep: plays 4 different soothing bedtime sounds to down out the neighbors circus music [IMG]
both can be found at www.cloudb.com

The Fisher Price papasan swings, we have 2. Would have been in serious trouble without them!

    Dr. Brown's bottles.

Since by sons were born in November we loved our diaper wipe warmer. They took the "shock" out of wiping bums in the middle of winter. I had about 2 packages of washable white diapers on hand that we used as burp cloths. These were great because I could bleach them if needed and I still use them as rags for cleaning the bathrooms, etc. I would highly recommend 2 portable feeding chairs for when you are out visiting, etc. I spent the first 4 months lugging around 2 infant seats until I clued in and bought a travel system (infant seats and stroller). This is a must if you want to get out and about. I also really like the Johnson & Johnson diaper protection cream (vaseline jelly works, too) - poopy bums were sooo much easier to clean up. This time around, I bought 2 JJ Cole Bundle Me bags for when we take them out in their car seats. I remember loading on the blankets to keep the babies warm and then they'd fall off - it was such a hassle. Hopefully, these Bundle Me bags will do away with the bulk of blankets. They seem really soft and warm. I think at least 1 swing is a must, too. That's all for now...

We're fairly minimalist around here but we used the heck out of these things when they were newborns (and are still using some of them!):

    EZ-2-Nurse pillow

2 bouncy seats with vibration (they never cared much about the hanging toys)

    Car mobiles

Halo sleep sacks (call and ask for twin discount)

Our guys were born at the end of Summer so we received a ton of short-sleeved onesies that got almost no use. Sleep & Plays were the best for us. Also, I had loads of burp cloths and receiving blankets that I didn't need because they didn't spit up and hated being swaddled. You just never know until you meet them.

    Twin bassinet pack and play

    Baby bouncy seat (infant seat)
    Mobile for he crip

I just bought the Maximom Twin Carrier. Went for a 3 mile walk with them both hanging in front and my 3 year old walking with me (next time I might carry her on my back). Also went shopping with one on me and the other in the shopping cart (older DD stayed home with dad)...so much easier than pushing the stroller through the store and lugging cart behind, especially with a 3 y.o. in tow. And vacuumed the house with one in front and one on my back. Made a big difference.
Seems like you've got alot of good advice. Have fun! [IMG]

I did not see this mentioned...

A lifesaver for babies are the zipper sheet set. Got ours at babycenter.com Top sheet zips right on and off in 2 seconds to change the bed and you never have to struggle with the mattress and bumpers and messing everything up. Need to buy 1 set and 1 extra flat sheet for each baby. Had The Ultimate Crib sheet with our first child and it snaps on. It was great but we have the zipper sheets with the twins and they are easier, quicker and better looking.

Just wanted to add my LOVE for the Double Snap N Go. And for what they charge for other twin strollers, they are pretty inexpensive. But I can't get over how easy they are to use.

And so we don't have to take them out of their carseats at all, we got the JJ COle Snuggle Me (I think it's called Snuggle Me anyway). I'm here in the freezing cold and I've never put more then a hat and shoes w/ socks on them when taking them out! The Snuggle Me is so wooly and warm!

ALl the best...and hey, get yourself some friends and family lined up for long visits when your babies come. Even if they don't DO anything when they come over, just talking to someone of adult age helps wonders. Sometimes it's just nice to know that you're having a visit from someone that day.

    Congrats!

Off the top of my head

-2 baby swings with white noise (my ds will only sleep in his swing some nights)
    -Swaddle blankets (at least 4)
-jj cole bundleme's if you will have your babies when its cold out, they go in your car seats, they are AWSOME!!!
    -2 Boppies
-2 contoured changing pads (we had them on our coffie table and thats pretty much where they were all day when we first came home. I could easily grab them to nurse, change diapers or they could just sleep, without having to keep getting up and down) I was able to watch tv or lay down and sleep. This was the Best thing ever!!
-Fisher Price Moniter, you can set it up so when it hears a loud noise like crying it turns its self on and projects on to the celing fish, shells, whales that all move and plays music at the same time.

I know there is more but i can't think..you know baby brain [IMG].. well you'll see [IMG]

    2 swings
    2 bouncy seats
    2 high chairs
    2 pack and plays
Duo glide stroller (I have a hard time with the side by sides as they don't go through the aisles very well at the stores)
    Lots of burp rags
    2 boppies (for tummy time)
I like the halo sleep bags as mine never stayed under their blankets
2 slings (one for me and one for my husband)
A recliner (for the nursery as mine never slept at the same time)
    2 cribs
    LOTS of diapers!!!
    LOTS of wipes!!!
    Good luck!

well I'm sure there have been many people telling you many different things, I have two of just about everything. I have two double strollers, one tandem (back to front) and I have a side by side. I like them both, its much easier to use to back to front one right now while they are still little. Im thinking it will be better to use the side by side one when they get older.
I also have a soothing motions glider, made by fisher price. you can get them just about anywhere, they run around $75. I had one at first and went and bought another one, we use them all the time!
they glide side to side and you can turn the seat to make them glide head to toe. it also plays music. we LOVE them!

    Best of Luck!

I just asked DH what he thinks are must have items. We have 2 "car" exersaucers, and 2 awings. They helped us out a lot!!
Now must-haves in my opinion are 2 BF pillows. When I had to feed the boys by myself (they are formula fed), I would put them both in one of the pillows on the couch and I would sit in between them and hold both of their bottles, or prop them with receiving blankets.
I also had a body pillow for pregnancy and my boys are 8 months old and I still use it every night!
Congrats on finding out you are having twins!! They are such a blessing.

Some things that have saved me have been two bouncy seats and play mats. They also like the swing. Another thing that I would say is a must have are baby einstein videos. I only had one with DS #1 but you can rent them from the library (at least you can here). The bumbo chair seems like it will be great when they get older, my babies are too little right now for it, but I am excited to try it out. HTH!

My boys love their play mat. They will last up to 45 minutes laying there playing. Also Leap from Leap Frog. If they are starting to get cranky at the same time all I have to do is pull him out. The only downside is I have heard the alphabet song a billion times. But it is definitly worth it.

    Congradulations on your twins. [IMG]

I don't have mine yet but from my first and just planning now, I'll tell you what I'm gonna get.

    1. Butt wipe warmer. Especially if you live in a cold climate. I had one for ds and just got another for downstairs changing station for when the twins come.

    2. Downstairs changing station. If you live in a 2 story it will save about 5.7 million trips up and down the stairs.

    3. Slings. We got the simple $20 sling from BRU and used it mostly when ds was
