OK, since I've been reading Nikki Sixx's book, The Heroin Diaries, I was inspired to post this: Wild Side. I had completely forgotten about Tommy's famous rotating drum kit. Maybe I should suggest this idea to my little drummer, Craig???

    Jenny, that show is trippy!!!

[tangent]What makes me laugh about rockers is that they are really normal when I see them in interviews. I always expect to see them with at least 2 scantily clad females, a boa constrictor, shirtless with leather pants and a big bottle of booze but no, they're dressed in a t shirt and some jeans and talk like real people.[/tangent]

I wonder how his suspended cymbals worked with the rotating drum set? They have to be free to move or they won't crash properly. Hmmmm.......

HBO's been showing V for Vendetta a lot lately (a movie I love) so I looked to see what YouTube had and found this. I dig the song!

Twin Solid State Musical Tesla coils playing Mario Bros theme song at the 2007 Lightning on the Lawn Teslathon sponsored by DC Cox (Resonance Research Corp) in Baraboo WI.
The music that you hear is coming from the sparks that these two identical high power solid state Tesla coils are generating. There are no speakers involved. The Tesla coils stand 7 feet tall and are each capable of putting out over 12 foot of spark. They are spaced about 18 feet apart. The coils are controlled over a fiber optic link by a single laptop computer. Each coil is assigned to a midi channel which it responds to by playing notes that are programed into the computer software. These coils were constructed by Steve Ward and Jeff Larson. Video was captured by Terry Blake. What is not obvious is how loud the coils are. They are well over 110dB If you look at another You Tube video which is from a different angle, you can hear the echo off the building and get a better idea of how loud it is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JScc2p... I thought this was interesting - Otter Study 1912.

    QUOTE
Watching this recently unearthed treasure is all the more amazing when you realise the footage itself was shot as long ago as 1912. The surviving version of the film you see here was re-edited in the 1920s and titled The Otter, with a final hunting scene removed. Intertitles tell us all about the habits of this fascinating creature, alongside the first known shots of an otter swimming underwater. We even get to see the cameramen setting up their special tank in the river for filming these scenes.

Just think otter fans -- this furry fellow is almost a century old!

OK, this isn't a YouTube clip, it's msn, but I had to share. It's Joe Perry and two of his sons (Adrian on the left and Tony on the right). TAB the Band

AEROSMITH Guitarist And TAB THE BAND Tribute 'Guitar Hero III' - Nov. 26, 2007
AEROSMITH guitarist Joe Perry and TAB THE BAND, which features in its ranks Joe's sons Adrian and Tony Perry, performed a set tributing the new video game Guitar Hero III. The live set was recently featured as an MSN.com video exclusive. Check it out at this location.

TAB THE BAND has opened for DINOSAUR JR. and ROSE HILL DRIVE and continues to earn respect as an energetic and powerful live act. In a recent show review in Music Connection magazine, writer Bernard Baur praised the band's performance, noting, 'raw and intense, with enough raging energy to scorch your skin, TAB's form of rock is unrelenting, uncompromising and irresistible…these guys grasp the irreverent and limitless elements of rock music… TAB is a true original. Adrian has a vocal intensity that is utterly compelling, and plays bass like a lead guitarist. Tileston is a monster drummer with flair and finesse, while Tony fires off pristine chops and killer riffs."

TAB THE BAND has released two EPs and will release its full-length record — entitled "Pulling Out Just Enough to Win" — in January.

"Vince Neil joined Steven Tyler (of Aerosmith), and songwriter Richie Supa in an acoustic rendition of the Aerosmith classic "CHIP AWAY THE STONE" on December 7, 2007, in Hollywood, Florida. This was part of the Fort Lauderdale Harley-Davidson Bikers Bash benefiting kids of the Boys and Girls Clubs in a weekend long party bringing together motorcycle enthusiasts of all ages, backgrounds and interests and riding all makes and types of bikes. I saw bits of this on a CNN segment today so I had to look up the full piece. This is from Letterman and is called: George W. Bush - Invigorating America's Youth. Real funny stuff from one of his speeches and a young boy's reaction.

That's like a compendium of awesomeness. I watched a documentary about him not to long ago. It was pretty sad because the interviewer asked "What would you get Freddy for his birthday if he were still alive?" and his long time partner almost broke down into tears. Lost loves always make me start weeping.

Recently a band called Five Finger Death Punch came to Junction to play some music. Unfortunately DH and I were too poor to see the concert, but thanks to the magic of YouTube I can enjoy them anyway. (Not quite my type of music, but I think they are a pretty talented band.)

Had you ever seen that video before, Jenny? I just loved it. Freddie Mercury was amazing. I would have cried too if I had watched that.

I've never seen the one you showed, but I've seen all their other videos that were compiled to make that one. That documentary was really touching, I wish I could remember the name of it.

That is some name huh? I guess they have a CD out and The Bleeding debuted on the Billboard's New Artist Chart at #3. Here's their official website.
