With my first set of twins I was put on bedrest at 30 1/2 weeks due to contractions 3 times and 10 day that took me to the hospital and had to have the shot (forgot what it was) to stop them They were all real not BH. Then on strict bedrest at home. Only horizontal, not even a recliner. I made it to 36 weeks and went off the meds ( I forgot what) and within 12 hour was in labor and by 24 hours had c-section for failure to progress. But my babies come home from teh hospital with me. I was so glad all teh bedrest paid off and they didn't have to spend weeks in the NICU. DS was there for 24 hour but more for monitoring of his breathing than anything else.

I hope to put off bedrest for a while this time, but am guessing it will happen. With 3 yr old twins, it will be difficult, but worth it.

I went to triage every week from 17 weeks on for irritable uterus (for which they gave me procardia to take twice a day until I delivered to ease the pain of the contraction feelings - the terb shots sent my heart rate up too high) and UTI's so bad I was peeing blood. Finally I went into triage around 30 weeks or so and they found that my cervix was funneling and 2cm dialated. The on-call OB that worked in the same practice as my primary OB said "expect to be here until you deliver" but they kept me in for a few days and I was sent home only to return a few days later at 32 weeks when they discovered protein in my urine. I was in the hospital on bedrest for 2 weeks and then sent home for a few days on continued strict bedrest, only able to get up to go to the bathroom and take a short shower. They delivered me via c-section at 35 weeks exactly and it's a good thing to because the pre-eclampsia was getting out of control! My OB was certain I was going to deliver while I was in the hospital on bedrest but I held out a tad longer. My peri wanted to hold off as long as possible and at least get me to 35 weeks. Thankfully both boys were healthy though, thank god, and only stayed in PICU for a little monitoring and to grow a bit bigger.
