paying for Grandma's help

    I do think it's a little odd. Great that you would offer, but a little shocked that she would accept it ... unless she really needs it. I couldn't ever see my mother taking money for watching my girls even if it was on a regular basis. My dad however is a different story. He is retired and now does interior painting for people. He has actually charged me and my siblings if he does painting at our houses. I find it really really weird, but my dad has always been really tight about money. I understand paying for supplies, but shocked about the rest. I guess we've gotten used to him though.

    I don't think it's odd. Since it's a regular, everyday occurence it's like a job. She has to arrange her schedule around yours. I'm sure it's the best job she's ever had, taking care of her grandbabies. If you can afford to pay her that's great.
