Oh, how happily he will sit at the table

for a cupcake. But, if I try to get him to sit for a meal, he screams like I'm trying to set him on fire! Grrrrrr

 

lol, that's about par for the course around here too. We're working on it though.

I hear ya... :gah: How nice it would be to have them cooperate at EVERY meal. I hear that happens sometime in the teen years. :lol:

 

Honestly, I'd be happy to have them cooperate at any meal. We've taken to sticking placemats on the floor so that they can graze as they run by. Arg. I wonder how they'd do if I changed the menu to cupcakes and leftover Halloween candy?!?

Around 2 we got a picnic table where we serve all their meals. This worked great as they could get up and down when they wanted so they didn't feel trapped

Yeah, my two eat at a table. For about 4 bites, then they get up and run around and come back and eat throughout the next hour. I know, bad mom, but it's not a battle I choose to fight.

 

The girls don't like to sit at the big table so they have their own table where they eat. Not ideal, and a terrible habit to start, but I also pick my battles and this isn't one of them.
