I'm sorry about the loss of the little one. You and your sister have a great attitude about this pregnancy! That's amazing that you already know the sexes. I will continue to pray for their safety.

I'm sorry for your loss of the triplet and happy for you that the remaining 2 babies look good.

Having never done CVS, can you answer a question? How do you do it? Vaginally? Is it difficult and lengthy considering they have to check 3 placentas? I can't even imagine trying to make sure which you are sampling. Maybe it is easy early in the pregnancy? I saw that you mentioned spotting. Was this a result of the CVS? Maybe it's one of those unknowns. They must turn the results around quickly if you already know it's a boy/girl! I don't even remember this procedure being discussed with me when I was pregnant and that was only 7 years ago. Seems like it would be better than the amnio I got! Ouch.

The did the CVS about 2 weeks ago ... the doc told me to look for spotting with the day or two following and that was normal ... but my spotting was almost a week and a half later ...

It wasn't fun. ... For me, they went through the abdoment ... 3 needle sticks ... through the abdomen, through the uterus. It wasn't awful, and each needle poke only was in for like 15-20 seconds. But yeah, 3 times. Ugh. The results take 7-10 days ... so that's how we found out on Thursday. The doc says that if someone miscarries due to the CVS, it usually happens within the first few days ... so we don't think we lost the trip due to the CVS. But all that is neither here nor there at this point.

It does depend on the location of the placentas though, how they do the CVS. With trips, there was always going to be two done abdominally, but the third (closest to the cervix) could be done vaginally, depending on the placenta. In my case, it was just easier abdominally.

Not fun at all! It sounds like an amnio. I didn't like mine at all--multiple pokes too. I almost fainted on the table. Well, hopefully no more invasive procedures! Good luck with your pregnancy.

Thanks for all the love, guys. My sister is ok. She is trying to just be excited about the two that are still with us ... and yes, we did do a CVS, so she knows that she is having a boy and a girl!!! So that makes things really nice! And gave her something to be excited about!! She opted not to find out the sex of the baby that didn't make it, as she thought it would be too hard ...

So, I think I will be the Aunt of either a Kylie or a Samantha, and a Nicholas or an Anthony.

But it's so early, I wouldn't be surprised if all the names changed!

She was going to name the girl after me, but I told her that wasn't necessary. I don't even like my name all that much ... but the sentiment was sweet!

So, we are taking it one day at a time. Of course, for both of us I think the unspoken fear is that something will happen to one of the others ... but what can we do?? Nothing ... just enjoy every moment, and hope for the best!

One of each, how great is that! I personally love Samantha and Anthony together. I had a friend named Samantha in elementary school and she was so cool, so I am kind of partial to it.

I'm so sorry. I lost a triplet at 9 weeks during my first pregnancy. Even when it is early, it is hard.
