I was making Ellie a sippy of formula.

I put in 4oz of water,then added 2 scoops of powder.
The level of liquid rose to 5oz.
She drank, leaving 2oz in the cup.

How much did she drink?

Seriously, did she drink 5-2= 3oz or 4-2= 2oz?

I'll guess 3 oz. I never thought about that! Actually I'll go research, maybe I'll find something definative.

to this day i question this. i posted the same thing when my boys were born. i go with the level that it went up to.

 

I would say 3 oz. too.

 

On our formula can it says that for every scoop you add it adds 0.2 oz to the bottle. So I would say 3 oz also.

 

I have ALWAYS wondered this! When I make 4 oz bottles, it ends up 5 oz, when I make 6 oz bottles it ends up 7.5 oz!! The can says to put the water in first and then add the scoops, but it never ends up being the level it is supposed to be! This has irritated me since day one because they never had the oz they were supposed to have and I kept thinking I was doing it wrong, or it was too watered down for the amount of scoops we had!
