Hey There... I know how you feel about the craziness at night. My twins are now 7 mos and I can assure you that things will start to get easier soon.

I also had the best laid plans about feeding my babies on a schedule, but they would also not cooperate. I had read all those books about how schedules are the best for babies, but in my situation it was just not possible. Don't beat yourself up about this. I think that some babies are just more difficult.. especially if they are preemies or colicky.

My boy was fairly good, but still a bit of a challenge at night.. My girl would only eat 1oz at a time for the longest time, and it was a total nightmare in terms of sleep deprivation. In her situation, I realized that I couldn't force her to eat a lot every 3-4 hours. My daughter gradually started increasing her intake and around 4 months she was only getting up once a night... around 3am.

I would say that some people have easier babies and in their case it may easier to get them on a schedule. Don't listen too much to what other people are saying, because your babies may be different. At my house, I called the first 3 months "survival mode" and after that things gradually got better... in fact the first 6 mos were tough... Just concentrate on getting by for the next little while. It will get easier and then you can focus on the schedules. Don't be hard on yourself.. I look back at the first three months of my twins life and am so proud I got through that. You should be proud of yourself too.. It's tough!
