I need good vibes today

Testing for Jackson's school is today for Hayden and Brady. They'll be pulled out of their classes to take the tests at their own school. I didn't tell them what the tests were for, but I did tell them to answer every question they could, not to be shy or say "I don't know" just to say it (as Hayden often does), and not to be upset if they couldn't answer the questions. They want to go to Jackson's school, and I didn't want to put too much pressure on them by telling them that's what they were testing for.

As much as I complain about the amount of work Jackson has, it really is an outstanding school, most recently ranked 6th in the state. In our awful district, that's saying a lot! I know both of them are up for the challenges and exciting learning opportunities they can have there.

We won't find out the results until April, and even then, things can change. Twice Jackson was turned down, and twice he was offered a seat a few months later (the second time we got smart and grabbed it!), so it could conceivably be August before it all gets settled.

Well, the testing's done. They told me the names of their friends who also tested. There were only nine kids between the two kindergarten classes, three of whom are triplets whose mom and I have talked about the gifted school before. The boys remembered a few of the math problems and told me about them. They said there was only one really hard one, and as we were going home, they asked each other what their answers had been. Hayden answered 3 and Brady answered 1. (DH said - "Well, there ya go. One's getting in and one's not!" :winking0009

I hope things went well and they scored well enough to garner a spot for each!
