How many kids per class?

Peyton's K class has 23 kids. Most of the kids classes through the years have been about 23-25 students.

 

My two aren't in K but 2nd this year. Their class size is 23 for Connor's room and 21 for Maddie's room. Now 2 years ago in the school they didn't have 20 kids between the two classes. Apparently this year there was quite an influx from our old school to the new school. (Many parents were upset that the principal retired) so it looks like they took advantage to send the kids to a smaller school in the district.

 

Our school has 1 kindergarten class (am & pm) and am has 23 kids and pm 22 kids.

 

We have 28 in our Kinder class. But there is only that many for an hour and half each day. We have early start and late start times. The early ones start at 7:50 and go home at 11:10 and the late ones start at 9:30 and go home at 12:50. So once the early ones are gone there is only 14 in the class. I think its weird to do it this way... but our district is suffering from crazy budget cuts.

 

My mom taught in FL for years and depending on the county, she would normally start out with 20 children, then when the Migrant workers came into town she would balloon to 32-35. Then after they left, she would go back to 20ish. So half of the year a tolerable amount, the other half of the year would be insane. Thankfully she had an aide most years (someone who was bilingual too was a big help.)

 

Two kindergarten classes here. Both have 22 kids in them and they go full day. There is one teacher and one aide who works half day.

 

My kids both have 20 kids in each of their classes (with no aid). But one of them has 3 additional kids for lunch, snack and playtime only. (The 3 kids are in special ed classes for the academic portion.)
