I'm 5,3 and I was induced at 37w4d. I was sure in a lot of pain at the end though! Your body will stretch to unimaginable proportions. Congrats and good luck!
5'4" and they took them at 36 w due to pre-e setting in...I fully would have made it to at least 38 I think - my cervix didn't even ripen with cervidil and pitocin!
I'm 5'1" and made it to 33 weeks. I was on bedrest for two months before that due to contractions and delivered due to pre-e. My dr never said a word about height being an issue. I do think being smaller made me much more uncomfortable though.
Guess I'm the tall one here. . . I'm 6'0". I would have made it a lot longer if it wasn't for that darn pre-eclampsia! I made it to 34w 5d.
I'm 5'9" with a slender to medium frame. I'm at 32w4d on hospital bedrest due to TTTS and cervical issues. I am not having breathing problems, but my hips are killing me! Due to my TTTS situation and all, the MFM here will not be letting me go past 36 to 37 weeks. . . if my cervix will hold out, that is. The nurses here tell me that women with larger frames do tend to hold up better with twins. They call me small, haha. No one's ever called me that!
I'm 5'1" and I was induced at 37 weeks... Good luck! I'm 5'1" and I was induced at 37 weeks... Good luck!
no offense but i think your doctor is feeding you a load of crap. i am under 5 feet tall and small framed and no one has mentioned anything to me other than my peri who checked my cervix length cackled and said "with that cervix you could be pregnant for months!" i'm 34 weeks right now and carrying the babies are already 5 lbs. there is no indication that i will go into labor anytime soon due to any cause other than the fact that i just moved and am therefore overdoing it quite a bit. my previous kids were 8lb 14oz and 8lb 7oz respectively and i carried to full term with each. i think height will be a factor in how large you look while pregnant but clearly it does not indicate how big your babies will be so why would it indicate how far you can carry your twins? incidentally my good friend who is a smidge taller than me carried her twins to 38 weeks when she had a c-section (meaning she could've gone farther) and my other good friend who is at least 5'4" only carried to 28 weeks.
I'm 5'9" and very long waisted and I had mine at 35 w 6 d. You really couldn't tell I had twins until the last month at which time I seemed to explode. I am pretty sure I went into labor because I worked until 34 weeks and was on my feet constantly. I also didn't rest properly and was completely stressed. My OB made the comment that she wasn't worried about tall people having twins, only shorter ones. But I also know three people who were all shorter than me and carried longer than I. I wouldn't think height has anymore to do with carrying babies than anything else you might be predisposed to.
I'm 5'2" & made it to 37 weeks. My boys were 6.7 & 6.8lbs. My doc didn't mention anything about my height while pregnant. Good luck.
I am 5'5" and had my girls at 35 weeks 5 days due to pre-eclampsia. We had a c-section scheduled for 38 weeks, but didn't make it to that date.
I'm 5 feet on the nose - made it to one day shy of 38 weeks because my water broke. Both my girls were 7 pounders! I was not overweight when I got pregnant and only gained about 27 pounds total. I was definitely all "babies" My OB never said anything about height... I agree with PPs who said not to worry, your babies will find the room! Good luck!
I am 5'0" and 28 weeks. I saw my doctor yesterday and she told me I am not at risk of pre-term labor. QUOTE(Monica08 @ May 26 2008, 11:26 AM) Hi ladies, I am only 5'1" and my doctor has always told me he just hopes to get me to 35 weeks because I am so short. He says because I am shorter the babies just dont have as much room as a tall or average height woman and am more likely to go into pre-term labor because of this. My Dr's mom had twins and she was 5'2" and made it to 35 weeks. My questions is, if you have had your twins- how far did you make and how tall are you? If you havent had your twins yet and you are 32+ weeks along- how tall are you and how far does your Dr expect you to make it? Also, to all of you short ladies like me , has your Dr mentioned height being a factor at all? Thanks and everyone have a Happy Memorial Day!
So I know I posted this such a long long time ago, but I figured you expecting ladies would like the FYI on what happened. I told ya'll about how I was short (5'1")and my Dr thought I would go early but wanted me to make it to 35 weeks.... well he was right... My water broke at 32 weeks. Every single doctor at The Ohio State University Medical center (where I delivered) said it was because I was short and there was nothing I could have done... I was in perfect health...good blood pressure, just the right amount of weight gain, no stress or over working... anyways, like I said... just wanted to let all you short ladies know what happened
I'm 5'2.5 and was nowhere near labor when I was induced at 35.3 weeks. We had to induce since Sierra had stopped growing due to TTTS and a 2-vessel umbilical cord. I carried Dax to almost 42 weeks and then was induced. He was 9 lb 9 oz which was bigger than his twin sisters combined. I also have a short torso so there's not a ton of room for babies in there but that's why our tummies get big. Being short doesn't mean that you're going to go into labor early. The babies don't just grow up, they also grow out. You'll probably get quite big but your body will decide when to give birth.
I'm 5'2" and i made it to 37 weeks. I probably would of went a couple more days, but with what happened to my daughter it just wasn't an option
5'1", 37.1 weeks. I'm prior c/s, so they scheduled a c/s because induction was too risky, and I was nowhere near labor. Both perfectly healthy, no NICU. They were 6,9 and 6,13. I carried DS1 for 41.2 weeks, and he was 9.5 lbs. DS2 was induced at 39.4 weeks because he kept flipping from vertex to breech and I wanted a VBAC (which I got). He was 7.5 lbs.

I'm 5'1 and I'm 32 weeks this week and my DR tells me his goal is 36 weeks IF I make it that far. From the way he talks he thinks I'm starting to run low on room in there. He doesn't expect them to do much turning anymore (Baby A is breech). He's planning a c-section for the week of Thanksgiving so I'd be 36-37 weeks at that point.
I am 5'2 and I made it to 37weeks and 6days and then I was induced. I would have gone much longer, but I was miserable and asked to be induced. I didn't have any complications.

I made it to 38 weeks before a scheduled c-section. Early on, they predicted 34 or 35 weeks. At 37 weeks, the doctor said it looked like we'd make 40 weeks but didnt recommend it due to the risk factors of mono/di twins.
I don't seem to see any trend here that shorter ppl gets to cook the twins a little lesser and vice versa, but I am also short, only 5ft and at almost 30 weeks, I am very close to breaking down because I feel so uncomfortable with all the kicking and stretching of my tummy. I do think height and body frame are major contributing factor for me, cos I'm really petite (so petite I can actually wear kids clothings and shoes pre-pregnancy). My gynae thinks I shouldn't and won't be able to carry to full term, so she suggested c-section at 38 weeks or before. Although she didn't explicitly mention that I'm short and therefore I won't carry to full term, she did mention that my babies can be a little smaller due to the space constraint within me. (Or taking after my genes of being small and petite, I guess)
I´m about 5´5" and I made it to 37 weeks 3 days and that was because I begged to be induced. I didn´t know height was a factor. I weighed 117lbs before I got pg and I gained 55lbs and my stomach was stretched to its limit. My body coped fine, though it wasn´t an easy pregnancy! GL!
I'm 5'0 and made it to 35w1d when my water broke.. my Dr never mentioned the height restriction, but it was something I was always concerned about.. I truely believe they just ran out of room!
