 Thanx Tamara! I think i just need to focus on the fact that she is now getting the help she needs. Lol as a fellow worrier you can see how easy it is to lose sight of what really matters. You say that you and your sis were delayed? Any ideas when you both caught up? I'm finding the unknown quite scary tbh even when allowing for her delays i still have my concerns about other health issues that have yet to surface iykwim? I suppose the excersizes must be like having a mammoth gym session? Today Ruby was not in the mood for them at all, her teeth are coming in and she is very grisly before we even started, she kept crying through out so i had to keep it short. Glad you enjoyed your trip and got lots of footage!! It must of been good to take your mind of all your worries. Sorry your in more pain, don't you get any reflief from the pain meds your on? It doesn't sound like much fun for you honey. It is no wonder you can't wait for the op, noone should have to suffer everyday - sometimes life can be cruel. They say these things are sent to try us.. they are certainly trying us pair lol your right we both need to keep our fighting spirit! You are an insperation for me you know. Take good care and speak soon :friends:

Sorry its taken awhile to reply. I havent forgotten Ive just been very busy with sorting out things for next year hopefully. I actually posted a reply on Sunday but my connection failed and I lost it all. Very annoying, so now I have to think about what I all said. I'm so glad that Ruby is getting the help she needs and that she's progressing. It makes so happy knowing she is improving and getting stronger. Yes, I can lose sight of what matters, it happens at times and I kinda have to step back and rethink about what really does matter. yes alisha and I were delayed. We were born 16 weeks premature at 24 weeks due to TTTS. We were born in May of 1991 and only got out of hospital in October of that year. We also suffered colic until we were 2.. and I only started walking at 2 years old after being diagnosed with CP and having (plaster treatments) Alishas lungs hadnt developed properly so she has asthma. and went through alot to get where she is now, she couldnt suck so Mum had to feed her with an eye dropper its the only thing that worked. So as you can imagine we were behind with everything develop wise including Gross Motor Skills. Its hard to say when we caught up as I was still progressing with my gross motor skills once I got to school. So at taking a guess I'd say I was probably around 4 years old when I was on track with motor skills. but otherwise id say close to 2 years old.

Yes I can definitely say the exercises feels like a gym workout, they are soooo painful and hard to do, so i feel sorry for ruby she's such a beautiful little girl. :) Yeah it was good to get away and see the family. our baby cousin is 4 months old now and he's teething now too so he's not his usually happy self. But i got lots of cute and memorable video footage. :) Yeah the drive was hard but I wasnt going to miss seeing everyone. :) For my pain im taking pretty strong pain killers and Im having regular massage and relaxation treatments too... to try and keep me sane. I have a week till i see the specialist. I have been feeling pretty sad lately like I feel like half this year has been wasted for me because Ive been having this pain for so long.. I should of seen to it earlier in like August but I had to convince myself it was what I had to do and its gradually gotten worse.. so theres no other option. So 18 hasnt been so great for the most part.

But on a good side, I was talking earlier about University for next year and as of today I have enrolled in AOU (Australian Open University) Basically its an online option to study. I was looking at other Universities but you need a high OP (Overall Position) to get into the Bachelor of Education which Id have to do another year of Teacher Aide Diploma to get it. But the good thing about AOU is that you can do an Introduction to Uni Learning Course for 3 months which will get you into the Bachelor of Education after that. So that’s where I’m heading. The bachelor of education is 4 years but the Uni Learning Course can take 6 months to 1 year off of my bachelor degree so I will most likely only have to do 3 years. Its all very exciting but Im overwhelmed but it all. I have 2 subjects to finish my Cert 3 in Teachers Aide (education support) and then on the 30 of Nov I start the Introduction to Uni Learning which I should finish sometime in Feb. I decided with my Mum it would be good to do it from Nov-Feb so Id have something to complete while recovering from the operation. :) Sorry for the long post. But I wanted to tell you that.

I dont feel like much of an inspiration but Im happy you see me that way, it makes me feel like Im making a difference :). Talk soon :friends:

Hey I'm not sue you understood me Right though. I didn't mean we have lost sight of what matters, i think i have done and that you as another worrier could understand why. I don't think you do lose sight, you deal with things really well!I just hope i am making a little moresense now lol You and your sister have come such along way!! Living miracles. Thats okay you dont have to apolgise for the late reply. Ive been busy too. Thats great about Ruby! Yay. Im sure with time she'll catch up soon :) That's okay I understand what you meant now. My bad lol. Thanks alot people including my family reckon I should write a book about my life is so far. Ive started because I needed to write about it for an assignment but even some of the lovely TS ladies reckon I should continue with writing. I love writing so I guess it could be a hobby. Yeah it will be alot of hard work but totally worth it in the end when your doing something you love and seeing the benifits of what a difference you can make to children's lives. I am pretty impressed if i do say so myself hehe. I never thought id be this good. my family reckons ive always been the smarter one  don;t know how true that really is :p Yes Im sort of wishing the week away. i have a dentist yearly check up today so i cant wait tilll thats done too. I had a good weekend with family. We are starting a little musical group with our friends from church who are twins also. The boys wanted us to sing with them for our christmas concert because they say we are awesome singers lol. Its sounding great but one of the boys Ethan loves the drums, he's so passionate about it, we just have to make sure he doesnt drown us out on the night lol.I reckon we could keep going with it after the performance. Twins x 2.. its a great idea. I'll have to show u a video of us singing sometime. Alisha and I have been into music for years, singing and all that so we love writing songs, and making harmony up and all that :D So it was a fun weekend :) I even have a website made for the two of us.. we've had that for a couple years too.

I think the PT can really be very helpful, even more than the Pedi at this stage. One girl in our mother's group didn't crawl until close to her 12 month birthday and then was up and walking soon after. It has been my daughter who has been slower to walk and walk well. With preemie you sometimes can't even look at the corrected age, I've heard often not until the age of 2 can you really get a clear picture on how they are developing.

Keep track of when they sit on their own, and other milestones in case you need to know later on. Keeping in the medical system will help to make sure you are being watched all the way through.

Thank goodness we are in touch via facebook!! Talk about leave you hanging lol it's a good job you weren't holding your breath lol You will have to post your singing up on facebook or your blog so i can see, is there no end to your talents Tamara?

Hi Heather twins, So sorry for the late reply!! I am so tardy lol Since this post we have started Physio YAY your right i have found it extremley helpful for Ruby! She is coming along beautifully although struggling to crawl properly, she drags herself around using her arms and right leg, she sort of drags the left one. Just this week we had her hips xrayed so hopefully it will show a problem that we can fix. She does get about in her own way but it does look a struggle for her, something is holding her back. I keep hearing what you say about preemies catching up and i am crossing my fingers that is the case with Ruby :)

Cool. Thats good.. No you didnt tell me about Ruby :) YAY!! Thats so great... Im so happy for her. Hey Mara! lol good idea will try to get her on camera, blink and i would of missed it though, it was that brief. Just thought i'd let you know that Rubys Physio review went well! They are really happy with her progress and have given her some kneeling and standing excersizes to work at. She still wants nothing to do with bearing any weight on her legs/feet so this will be hardwrok for her. They have said that if she isn't bearing weight in 3months she will need a frame to practise standing in so i'm hoping it doesn't come to that. She is a star i couldn't be prouder.
How was the pictures, see anything worth a watch? did it take your mind off the pain? Can imagine it's hard to get going when you feel rough everyday  i read your fb msge about the guy lol that is really sweet! Why is it always obvious to everyone but the people involved huh? Get your bow and arrow out for them, a little meddling sounds like it is called for! I'm sorry i haven't replied on fb, need to make some time for one of our mammoth chats. I like to be thorough but with Paul off work i don't get a minutes peace, he thinks i am a internet bore lol ok for him to play his xbox all evening though! Men she is better off without :D Hope your feeling ok, have you got through to your dr yet? xxx

Hey Liz thanks for the update :) I hope ruby goes well, sounds similar to how I was when I
was little couldn't bear any weight either. Hope she doesn't need the frame. I needed one when I had my operation , not fun but if it helps that's the main thing.that's ok about fb haven't been much. Feeling more tired and sore every day. Movies was good. saw did u hear about the morgans and old dogs with robin williams in it. Caught up with friends yesterday and went to the movies and shopping. Don't see them much they r sisters too and live about 2 hours drive from us, so it was good to spend a day with them. So tired today though from walking heaps yesterday and got a massage yesterday to try and help while I wait for the doc. So stuffed today should be doing uni stuff but too sore to concentrate. I'm falling behind on the work but I can't do the impossible when I'm like this.
and no have had no success in reaching the doctor :( I posted an update in the twinstuff club forum, but let's just say I'm gonna have to wait even longer.... :(

    Talk soon xxx
