What a great thing you are doing. Awesome. Sorry that you're triple sick tho ;)

How long did you carry the twins?? Did you have any complications?? WOW! Triple the fun!

What did your sis say?? How old is she? I cannot believe they transferred FOUR!! My clinic only does TWO! WOW!!

Amazingly cool. I bet your sis is THRILLED.

Congrats again:) There was a pt where I did think my sis would have to do this for me. Very nice.

I carried the twins to 36w3d, so I did pretty well. I had a lot of BH contrax, and they put me on terbutaline around 28 weeks. It worked like a charm and I went off at it at 36w to deliver 3 days later. I was on modified bed rest (not by my doc, more of a self induced thing) because I was worried about the contractions. But everyone was born healthy, no NICU time and came home with me 4 days later.

My sister is 37, but her story is a tough one. She's been battling infertility herself for years. She ALWAYS overstimulates, and has never had a fresh cycle. Every cycle they had to freeze all, because she was SO sick. Even hospitalized. During her infertility battle, she had a mammogram, and they discovered her breast cancer. Which is why I'm being her surrogate. It was stage 1, super early, and easy taken care of (fingers crossed). Docs expect a full recovery (or is remission the right word?) But either way, this last cycle she did was her last one ever. She started chemo on Christmas Eve, and it will ruin her eggs. So this was her last chance.

She had 30 eggs retrieved, 23 embryos, and on day 3, there were only 4 left. 2 were ok looking 8 cell, ,but the others weren't good ... certainly not good enough to freeze. Being that her quality has kind of been crap because of the overstimulating, the doc actually recommended all 4. He gave us less than 1% chance of all 4 implanting, and less than 3% that 3 would implant.

I swear, for an infertile (which I also am) I seem to be extremely fertile!!

    Yeah!

Taking 25 mg of B6 three times a day has helped my sickness tremendously - you should try it.

What the heck is the corn?

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to play with you. I thought it was Erica's place to tell it, and now she has. WOWEE!

The Corn is "The Cornucopia" -- the almost anything goes forum on TS. The place to discuss things not related to parenting necessarily, where people might be more likely to share some personal info, but also and most importantly where things like politics and beliefs and all kinds of worldly and not so worldly (much of it seems other-worldly) topics are discussed and debated.

To participate in The Corn you need to be a Rewards Member on TS. $29.95/year.

What an amazing story! I hope you have a healthy pregnancy and am so excited that your sister is finally getting her family after all she's been through.
