I'm looking for a good, low fat (or non-fat) fruit smoothie. I LOVE the Twigs 'n Berries Smoothie from Planet Smoothie...it's strawberry/banana and frozen yogurt...a small (which is 24 oz.) is only 6 WW points. But, they are expensive to get all of the time.

Does anyone have a good smoothie recipe that uses either sherbert or non-fat yogurt and fruit?

    I've never used a recipe...

How about a list of fruits that would taste good with plain (unflavored) yogurt?
    Bananas
    Any kind of berry
Canteloupe (try it with a touch of vanilla extract)
    Guavas
    Mangos
Pineapple (with or without a little coconut!)
    Papaya
    Prickly Pears
    Peaches

    Other things you could add
Oatmeal (let it soak 10 minutes in the milk first)
    All Bran
Amaranth (look in the health food isle)
    Peacans

Try natural honey if you want a healthier way to sweeten a smoothie.

Becky, I make them all the time with frozen fruit and berries. I use juicy juice and pure fruit. Gives you a real pick me up! Each cup or cup and a half of strawberries is 1 pt. and peaches are about 1.5 cups too I think! So if you use 1 pt. worth of juice it'll help you blend about 2-3 cups of fruit. It makes a 3 point smoothie or however much you add!!

    LOVE THEM!

Before ds was born we got one of those neat smoothie makers from my mom. We were making smoothies every day. They all followed the same recipe but with different flavors, etc.

    If I can remember--

    one container of yogurt
    one cup of frozen fruit
    one cup of fruit juice

You can use frozen yogurt too.

We do a couple different combos depending on what's in the house:

    Usually it's:
    fresh fruit (bananas, blueberries, strawberries)
    milk
    scoop of sorbet
    ice
    flax seed oil

Sometimes we substitute frozen fruit for the fresh fruit and ice.

I am hooked on frozen yogurt tubes (the kind they market for kids' lunches). I keep some in the freezer and like to eat them push-up style myself. These actually do quite well for a quick smoothie. I zap them in the microwave for 12 seconds to soften them, then add some banana and milk and blend that bad boy to perfection with a little flax seed oil for good measure (no ice needed).

    Here is mine:

    Splash of orange juice
A "tablespoon" (not an actual tablespoon, but the large regular spoons they call tablespoons) of fat-free yogurt
About 4 large frozen strawberries (depends on how large)
    A banana
    About 6 ice cubes
    A serving of protein powder
    A serving of fiber powder

This is how I made mine minus the powders and I added a touch of honey if I used tart fruit.

I am addicted to Diane's smoothies! They just keep me going throughout the AM.

I like with more strawberries so I put a lot of strawberries in it. I also freeze it so I can have one the next day as it thaws.
