    they look identical to me.

Can't really go by their blood types (which the hospital should have in the records, I asked shortly after their birth for the blood type since I am a negative RH and need the shot if they were positive). My girls are true fraternals and they have the same blood type. They were 2 sacs, 2 placentas as well. My 2 couldn't look more different. They are 3 lbs different in weight, one has blondish/brown straight hair like her brother and the other is dark brown and curly. They do both have blue/silverish eyes, but DH and myself as well as their brother all have blue.

pretty darn identical - whether they are mono or di chorionic depends on when the split occured - it is quite possible to have ID'S indiff sacs.

My vote is for identical. Do you have any papers from when they came home from the hospital. My girls blood types was written all over everything. They are very beautiful little girls.

I actually agree with you. I think in this case I would wait a year and reevaluate. If they are still confusing people and you really really want to have an official answer test then. I just think some families have babies that look the same (my DD and William have a few pictures that are debated and they are 4yrs apart). I think in the next year you will start seeing some more obvious differences if they are frat. I noticed your girls were born full term and unless they had medical issues, the hospital very well may not have done a type test. It is not standard process at our hospital, and I don't know the blood type for any of my kids.

I've looked through ALL the paperwork they gave me and it is not anywhere to be found! I guess maybe they didn't test for their blood types? I'm still waiting to hear back from the hospital..... I guess it will have to simmer in the back of my mind for now:)

I say they look identical and absolutely adorable! We got a DNA test for our boys and found out that they are identical. We think they look completely different, especially since their head shapes are so different, but they are definitely ID. And..as many pp said, while we thought they looks very different others think they look just alike. Our DNA test cost $190.00 and we're glad we did it!

As I posted a very similar question in the 1-4 forum the other day and was shocked at the responses, I understand how you feel.

My vote is ID...can tell some differences but definitely enough alike for me to think ID. I was suprised by how many people voted ID for my boys, and I never had questioned that they were anything but fraternal.

Guess you and I will be testing our kiddos soon!

You don't need to spend the money. I've posted this before and I'll post it again.

    Melissa's free Zygocity test

Take a bunch of pictures. Crop the photos to show just one eye, just the nose, just the mouth. Don't lable the photos. Can you tell who's eye it is? Who's nose? Who's mouth?
If not your twins are monozygotic.

Remember that head shape is determinded by position in the womb, not by DNA--so you can't look at the whole head and tell in their first year. Also it's normal for one to wiegh more.

As a parent we can tell our twins apart because they are different. (They have different expressions, move differently, different looks in their eyes) Other people can't tell them apart because they look the same. They don't know the look in the eye, the smile, the gait, etc.

My ped office did not have their blood type on record either. I thought that was strange.
I did proactivegenetics.com and the test was $170.00. I honestly dont know about your girls. I am bad at this.

I did the eye cropping and can totally tell them apart but that must be because I know what pictures I cropped! lol
I need to have a family member look at my cropped pics!

Oh - identical definately. I can see the difference in their head shapes and weight, but definately identical. A friend of mine told me that if YOU wonder but everyone else thinks they look alike, they're ID. So far she's always been right. The DNA tests cost about $160... do it!
