I work 40 hours a week as a Specialty Banker. I drop the boys off at daycare at 7:30 and pick them up at 5:15. I wish I could work part-time, but we can't afford it.

I went back 3 days a week when my twins were 6 weeks old, and full time when they were 8 weeks. It wasn't ideal, but we happened to get two daycare slots and it was use 'em or lose 'em. I was also eager to go back, honestly. The newborn thing was killing me.

Yes, I was exhausted, but it was easier for me to be exhausted at work than at home caring for babies. (That depends on your job, obviously.) And I felt so much happier going back to my familiar job and realizing that some part of my life hadn't been turned completely upside down.

When the girls got a little older, I started wishing I could work PT, but we can't afford it. If I worked 50% time, I'd make 50% of my salary -- but we'd pay 80% of the full-time daycare cost, because that's how the tuition is structured.

I'm a doctor, a radiology resident. I went back to work 3 weeks ago. For my regular schedule I work 8-5pm (45 hours a week) which is fine. But in my first 6 months back at work I also have to take 8 overnight calls (Sat 8am to Sunday 9am: 25 hours) and 4 weeks of nights (Sun-Fri 9pm-9am: 72 hours). I've been back for 3 weeks and it's tough. But fortunately I love what I'm doing and once I'm done training I can have whatever hours I want and can even work from home. Also, it helps that my husband works regular hours and we have a good nanny. But I wish I could just work regular hours...someday.

I went back to work when the my babies were four months old. By this time, they slept through the night with occassional 3 am feedings. I work forty hours a week. I leave home at 530 and return by 615pm. I was worried that they would forget who I am since I only spend about 2 hours with them during the week. However, when I get home, they are so happy to see me.

I have not gone back to work yet either. Im dreading leaving leaving them!!! I work as a firefighter/paramedic. My shifts are 24 hours on 48 hours off and 5 days off every third week. I think it works out to 48 hours a week. My DH will be home with them......can't wait to see how its gonna go!

I work 40hrs a week, M-F 9am to 5pm as an accounting executive. My 4 yr old goes to Pre-K and I have a Nanny that cares for the twins in my home from 8:30am to 5:30pm. Its pretty pricey but better than daycare. I went back full time when the twins were 6 wks old. 4 days after my csection I was back at work, but from my home 2 days a week until they were 6 wks.
