I am going to set up a mini home school for my kids during the summer. My ds is autistic and really needs to be kept in a regimented schedule and I don't want to give up the school aspect of it. I need to work on colors, fine motor skillls, abcs, 123s, and my dd knows all of her abcs, 123s but I need to start working on writing and reading words and adding and subtracting. She is already doing these things in her preschool.

So I would like to know where people get information or supplies to do their home schooling. I also want craft ideas and game ideas that would be educational and fun and could sometimes pertain to certain letters of the alphabet. I need to get traceable letters and numbers also. Can anyone help me out?

    Hello!

This website lets you create your own traceable pages
    http://www.kidzone.ws/tracers/index.htm

A great book at the library for lower case letters is Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin, You could set up a little flannel board and act the story out too. http://www.amazon.com/Chicka-Boom-Bill-Mar...r/dp/068983568X

To recognize letters and numbers and start to write them we played with play dough and made them out of that, made them out of salt dough. We took chalk and wrote up and down the driveway and sidewalks. We would each write the letters and then we played a game where I called out the letter and we would race to find one to stand on. They loved that. We did that with numbers too.

There are a lot of printables here http://www.abcteach.com/
More games and worksheet ideas here too http://www.kidzone.ws/prek_wrksht/index.htm

If you want another computer reading helper this one is very good too, http://www.literactive.com/Home/index.asp

There are great ideas at www.crayola.com too.

Use what you have, make it fun and they will learn and enjoy it! I have a lot more links and ideas I could give you if you need more. Have a wonderful summer and let me know if you need any more ideas.
