its been interesting! Ian crawls like a Marine recruit and Abby couldn't care less about being on her belly long enough to crawl..doc thinks she'll just walk...both are sitting unsupported very well although we have the occasional tip over and scream...Ian can get himself into a sitting position from his belly and both are giggly when they are in the mood....

they are also two of the whiniest babies I've ever seen...Ian is getting 4 teeth (all on top) and all at the same time - so some days I call "tylenol days"...Abby's still only got her bottom 2 but in true woman style she isn't complaining about the bumps on top of her gums...

they both sleep through the night (and have since 4 months) with only a quick bink check in the middle of the night occasionally...they LOVE their solids are are down to about the equivalent of 3 bottles a day...

we are just waiting a few more weeks to attempt yogurt and cheese (as they are on soy formula - had milk formula intolerance for the first few months) and the doc wanted to wait until 9 months to start those...

its been the hardest most rewarding 8 and a half months ever...I love taking them out - they go to the office with me once a week where DH and I do a kid switch - Friday's I go in for 4 pm and he leaves at 4 pm (yes we work in the same office) so the kids go with me - they have a good time and get some good socialization with my co-workers...

    Hi Jenny
I concure with the pp and thank you for asking! The past 6 months have been interesting to say the least. We were not suppose to have these babies or so I was told by a specialist. So every day with them is a miracle.

But I suffered from severe ppd and I was ashamed that ppd was occuring, even though I have suffered from depression and was managed on meds and doing very well. The babies were very much wanted and very loved, but I was so afraid of make a mistake and then was not sleeping and healing from my c section. During this time we were trying to move closer to my parents for extra help and after dh went back to work I lived with my parents for 10 weeks and saw dh only on the weekends. That was really hard. We are now 5 minutes from my family and they come to help everyday which means so much. We are not in the ideal house-it needs work, but I am able to stay home and just today I felt like a mom and a very deep conection to the girls.

The groundhog day comment hit home. People will say well tomorrow is Sat and I look at them and say everyday is the same to us.

However I carried the the girls until 37 weeks and the girls had no NICU time, they have slept through the night since 4 months, Hannah rolls over and has 2 bottom teeth came in today-Jenna says a combo of mamanana(mama and nana)to everyone, but still a joy to hear. They get the biggest kick out of interacting with each other.

A lot of things don't get done and being a type A person it sometimes gets to me, but I have found it important and do carve time out for me each night usually from 9-10:30. Right now the girls have colds but are still eating and sleeping well so I am hoping by next week they will feel better. I am hoping to join a twins moms group soon, I have never taken the girls someplace by myself. I do find the isolation hard-even with family here-I taught special ed for 13 years and miss my co workers, I don't have any friends in my new home town and most of the friends from back home are not calling. And spring is around the corner and then we can get out more. I think that's the hardest part right now the weather the house can feel like it is closing in sometimes with laundry and dishwasher and all the other house things that need to get done.

I am sorry this is so long, it feels good to be able to let my true feelings out. I am very thankful for this board and for your personal interest. Have a good night. Tracy
