Keagan will have a hard time here in Holland hahahahaha
We had to go to hospital a few weeks ago and they called out him name.........it took a few seconds that I "got it,..... it was Keagan"

When I was pregnant with Phoebe* my Mom told me we should get a name that didn't give problems. Suzy is spelled lots a different ways. Even my parent's have spelled it different hhahahahahahahahahah
Well Phoebe* is not easy in English butt here in Holland would have been very hard. Butt we loved the name. Sadly she died after 34 weeks pregnancy.
Well...next girl. We went with Berber. A traditional name in one part of Holland ( Friesland, they have their own official language.)I loved the name because of our great vacation in Marocco, but DH is from "Frieland".
You can't spell it any different. BUTT Mom as a good American....can't rollllll the RRRRRR's ase we do in Holland

    Cosmo is easy..

As a Jessie, just Jessie, not Jessica, thankyouverymuch, I have had to get over the whole name and spelling thing a bit. My whole life I've been correcting people who call me Jessica and people who spell my name Jesse. In college, I was on the colorguard and the coach had tracksuits made for us with our names embroidered on the jacket. She asked us our names and how to spell them, but was very adamant about having full first names, not nicknames, on the jackets. Lo and behold, my jacket said "Jessica." I was so pissed, and I had to wear that darn jacket to every football game that year.

Anyway, I didn't think I gave my kids difficult names, but Aidan is spelled "Aiden" about 75% of the time. Unless it is someplace important like the doctor or day care, I don't even correct it. Addison is thankfully typically spelled correctly although I have seen other spellings lately (Addyson, Addesyn, etc). I also use the nickname Addie for her, which I think is the most logical spelling to me, but I expect to get Addy and Addi occasionally.

Jesslyn sometimes gets called Jessica too. Just because her nn is jessy doesn't mean her full name is Jessica. This bothers me more than spelling errors

There are just so many ways t spell names you are always going to get someone misspelling your name. That's life even with the most common names. I had a neigbor who was like a mother to me growing up and she still spells my name Alycon! Really? Of all the possible ways to spell it that is not one I would ever even think of. [IMG]

Tabbisue, I have never heard of your girls names before you.
I think when you (general you) give your kids unusual names no one has ever heard of, or unusual spellings of known names you are asking for people to mis-spell their names.

I must say that I am a terrible speller and I do try to spell people's names correctly but I do forget to even check. There are so many times I just write the name and don't even think to check if that particular person may spell it differently. It doesn't even occur to me.

Occasionally Connor's name will be misspelled as "Conner" and Madeline's nickname is Maddie but it gets "Maddy" most of the time for people who are not family.

Sure are! Most people think of Tyco toys first, just think Kepler is "different." Lol. So far, there have been 7 planets found under NASA's Kepler mission! ;)

Funny, I get irritated when they ask me how to spell Christy at Starbucks. I don't care how you spell my name, just get my coffee right! I don't stress over it. Christy can be spelled so many ways and it doesn't bother me in the least if you spell it wrong. I get called Cindy a LOT for some reason and I just answer to it unless it is someone I have to deal with on a daily basis.

It does bug me when family doesn't spell Zack's name correctly. We went with Zackary because to me, it is spelled just like it sounds. I like the way it can be spelled Zach, but Zack seems "easier" to me I guess in teaching him how to spell it.

My nephew's name is Connor. I have to really think about it every time I write it. I'm afraid of ticking my SIL off. LOL

That reminds me of a client who comes in at tax season (I'm an accountant) and he calls everybody by the wrong name. He calls me Doris or Dorothy...umm it's Kristin, not even close. He also calls my boss Bobbie and his name is Robert. My boss once told him the only one who ever got away with calling him Bobbie was his mom, but that did phase the guy and he still calls him that at least every other year. I think some people are just clueless  .
