QUOTE(Babies On The Way @ Dec 30 2007, 03:13 AM)
The boys were diagnosed with stage 2 TTTS on monday the 17th, Tues 18th at 830am my water broke, but i didnt know what it was so I waited to go to the hospital for a couple hours. I went to L & D and found out that it was my water from baby A (Evan). The ultrasound tech came in and after 5-10min of looking she couldnt find baby A's heartbeat. He had passed away. The Dr. then decided that i needed to get 2 steroid shots to help baby B (Ethan) lungs and we had a scheduled c-section for wed Dec. 19th. Baby A(Evan) was born at 1017am weighinh 1lb 11oz 12 3/4in and was already with god in heaven, baby B(Ethan) was born at 1019am weighting 1lb 15.7oz 13 1/2in. He was rushed to NICU and was put on a ventilator, he was on his ventilator for 2 days then put on just an oxygen canula in his nose, which he pulled out 2 days later and hasnt been on oxygen at all since then. He was give 4 steroid shots after delivery to also help his lungs develop alittle more as well. He has had a head ultrasound looking for brain bleeds, which was negative not even a grade 1. He has also had a chest ultrasound to make sure he didnt have a heart murmur, that was negative as well. He is tolerating my breastmilk through a feeding tube to his tummy( as of today 12/29 he's eating 10ml of breastmilk every 3hrs), able to go 1 and 2(which means his digestive tract is working properly so far) and hes still on Iv's(caffine, fluids, and fatty acids) but he is doing so awesome for being born at 27wks 3 days. I think his older brother is looking over him and making sure he is real strong. We know that everything happens for a reason, and after delivery were told that my placenta was Toxic meaning it was good Ethan came out when he did. We love him so much but he is so little. We have all said alot of prayers. I tell myself I have two sons one is my angel baby and one is my miracle baby, and we love them both soooo much!

I'm sorry for your loss. Your story is VERY similar to my bestfriends- but she delivered at 261/2 weeks.
She just brought her baby girl home last week. Her angel-Chase is watching over her sister. Best of luck to you!

Baby Ethan is gorgeous, and obviously a true fighter. I pray he grows fast and strong for you and can come home soon. I am so so sorry about baby Evan. I know your heart is aching for him.

I also have a good friend who went through that with her two boys. Baby Austin is their little angel and Jackson is a true survivor. I know how she suffers daily missing her baby, and won't say it will get easier for quite a while, but just know that you are cared about and thought of and we are all rooting for Ethan. :hug99: :hug99: :hug99:

I am so sorry about sweet little Evan. He is truly watching over his brother and providing him with such great stamina! Ethan is making such wonderful strides as a 27 weeker, I can't believe it!
Best wishes on a healthy recovery and a quick stay in the NICU. :hug99:
