okay I watched the show again.

Did anyone else notice that when Ramiel stood and Ryan talked about what teh judges thought of her performance they showed her support people in the audience and under them they wrote "Ramiel's parents best friend" and the best friend sitting there was Danny N.

I'm not sure if they said who the mentors would be, but the theme next week is more Beatles, I think this time post 1967 (although weren't two of the songs this week, Let it Be and Come Together, from that era?)

Anyway, I know some might be upset over that theme based on this past Tuesday's performances, but the more Beatles the better in my opinion. And later Beatles music could include some awesome songs we still haven't heard.

How about Lady Madonna (Jason Castro?), A Day in the Life (David Cook could probably do something cool with this classic), Back in the USSR (Amanda although some would probably want to hear her do Helter Skelter), Blackbird (David Archaletta), Get Back (Chikezie), Here Comes the Sun (Brooke), Here, There and Everywhere (Syesha), Hey Jude (Carly), In My Life (Michael), and then I'll throw out The Long and Winding Road, Revolution, and While My Guitar Gently Weeps for whoever is left. And that doesn't even include countless #1 hits. So there's a lot of good music out there to try top 11!

I can see all of those song choices for next week :D . I could see them all doing really well with those songs, it'll be interesting to see if any of your predictions are right!

Please tell me we won't have to listen to 3 elimination songs on elimination night. That was just too much.

And I thought the phone call segment was a waste of time.

    COMPLETE WASTE Julie!!! Good call!!

I DID Notice that Cheryl!!! I thought that was pretty funny!!! They showed him really quick. It was like they realized who the best friend was and cut away or something!!

I noticed Sanjaya and his sister were also in the audience too!!

The bottom three was correct, but I think that Kristy should have gone before David. Look what happened when Chikezie got another chance! I think Syesha is going to make a comeback!!! C'mon girl!!!

Kristy made it through on her looks. She's a beautiful girl!

I was stunned when Ryan said they were going to do the Lennon/McCartney songbook again!!! UGH! I am sure it won't be as bad as I think it will, but really want to get them going forward. Oh well!

Another beatles week? Ugg... Sorry, I just don't really care for the artist themed weeks.. though I know there are a ton of amazing beatles songs, that doesn't mean they will be smart and pick one! HAHA

Not surprised at all at who was voted off. H was though.

I think an hour for the results show is just over kill. H watched most of it, fast forwarding through the performances and I came in at the end right before Katherine sang. Didn't like her performance at all, she seemed.. oh I don't know... just not quite right. I'm not even sure what it was I didn't like about it... anyway... then we fast forwarded to the end for the results. It was just too long for my taste. And the call in section, yeah um, that was just silly.

Anyway, think the bottom 3 was "spot on" and david going home was the correct thing. Hopefully Christy will learn from this and pick up her performances.

Oh and when they showed Danny in the audience with Ramelie's parents, I about died laughing.

I was not excited about Lennon/McCartney songbook last week and I am equally not excited about it for next week.

Who are these people that they say called in and said it was the best week yet?

I think they made the show that much longer because it was music from the Lennon/McCartney songbook.

I did not like that woman who sang with the piano player. She reminded me of a nightclub show. Not exciting actually was pretty boring and I fast forwarded through it once she started singing.

I agree also that the phone in was dumb and they could have done without it. If they were real questions maybe I would have liked it more but the questions were useless.

"That woman" was a previous AI contestant (like Blake was from last week's vote off show), wasn't she runner up in Taylor's season? I agree she didn't seem quite right.

The only thing I watch (in fact I missed where we were told that it was Beatles again next week, ugghh) are the group songs and the actually announcement. I did make my friend rewind because I spotted Danny in the white tshirt, she didn't believe me! I absolutely love the group songs, it makes me sad though in this in between period of the top 12 because only 10 go on tour. Why make a big deal about the top 12 and then cut two of them out of the tour, doesn't make sense to me although I am sure they have their reasons (maybe alternates or something in case someone can't do the tour??).

I have never been a Katharine McPhee fan, but her rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow from Season 5(?) was pretty spectacular.

Yes it was... her best performance ever followed up by that other song that I just totally lost the name of right as I was gonna post it here... the one where she was sitting with the two musicians, one with a drum... omg I can't remember the name of the song!!! Other than that.. she's not done very well. And she looked rediculious last night. Ok, I'm done mcphee bashing. LOL

Black Horse and the Cherry Tree

No she hasn't done very well, lol, unless you consider marrying your manager who is 20 years older than you, doing well. (Not that there is anything wrong with marrying someone older, just that it is her manager.)

anyways... yes the call in section was lame, the show was too long, and the previous contestant was blah... beatles again is just annoying!!

I'm not thrilled with another Beatles week either. I love the Beatles, BY the Beatles. Other people singing them..... :nea: . I think David H. should have stayed a little longer and Kristy should have gone, but oh well.

Katherine McPhee has done quite well on her own, especially when compared to who beat her out! Can you tell I'm NOT a Taylor fan :p . I doubt she'll be around for years though. There's just too much competition out there. I loved her renditions of Over the Rainbow and the cherry tree song. Her best.

It's funny because most contestants voted off DO go back and sit in the audience but have their OWN identity. I think it's great he's there supporting her. I found it funny because they made it like he was her best friend from FOREVER and not the guy she befriended on the show. He was a contestant and should be given his own identity.

I am sure it's VERY hard for him. He's not the first and won't be the last.

I was happy with the results. I agreed totally with the bottom 3, although I would've been happy to see either David H or Kristy go home. Kristy's version of that song was terrible! DH and I both were really impressed with Chikezie. He did REALLY good! David A didn't do great this week, but I still really like his voice. David Cook is awesome! In the last few weeks he's really impressed me. I think he's my favorite now. He didn't start out as my favorite, but he's earned it now. I think Ramiele has a nice voice, but her song choice was based on emotion rather than what would best suit her. Poor choice. If she continues on like that she won't last long. Can't wait till next Tuesday to see more.

And I'm sure John Lennon was turning over in his grave. I don't know if it's because I'm such a hardcore Beatles fan but this was a tortuous week for me... although I have to say I LOVED David A's Imagine..

Yes, David A. has sung and did 100% better than last week. He's one of the top two on the evening so far IMO with three more singers to go. He sang The Long and Winding Road.

I agree, they should've just left it at 1 week.

My favorites this week....David A, Carly and David C

I loved Amanda, David A, Brooke (even though it was a little off), David C (LOVE him!), Carly, and Jason (just because but was not a great week). I also think Chikezie was fun, not the best, but fun, and I still like Michael.

In danger: Kristy Lee (time for her to go), Syesha, and Ramiele.

  26. twinstuff-old

I really only liked two performances, David Archaletta and Carly (not sure why Simon didn't like her - I think she may have been the best for the 2nd straight week). And I'm not sure why everyone loved Syesha as that performance didn't do it for me. I agree that Kristy or Ramiele could be gone.

Brooke sounded good....but she's gotta stop dancing!
Chikezie, I thought he was ok. Same with Michael and Jason.

Ramiele was like a Karaoke performance (I'm channelling my inner simon)

    I still don't like Amanda.

I agree on your bottom 3, Kim.

  28. Mama_Kim

I kind of agreed with Simon on Carly. It sounded good but it didn't just blow me away. And she is capable of doing that.

My favorite was David C. -- he is awesome. Second favorite was David A. Third for me was tied between Amanda and Carly.

I was SO disappointed with Michael. And poor Jason and Brooke just need to go back to what they do best.

totally agree and it seems the judges also agree

Amanda just sounded like she was yelling tonight

    Kirsty boring and bad

David A was good tonight but he just seems to be missing something to me.

Michael did not choose a good song for him

Brook sang well but it was not a great song

David C sounded good but that voice box change rhing was strange Was a good song choice

Carly sounded pretty tonight. Her hair was nice as was her top but I just don't like the look of the full arm tattoo. Not that this is important and I am NOT trying to discriminate (sp?) but it does weigh on my liking her. She is beautiful but that tattoo looks ugly.

Jason has such a smooth voice. Nice song choice he is just so shy

    Syesha sang way to slow

Chikezie tried to do a repete of last week but did not pul it off this week

Ramiele changed it up. better than last week but still not one of my top 3 or 5

It bugs me too. Not enough to affect me liking her. She's so pretty and I find it distracting. DH said the same thing from the very first time he watched her. But she and her DH have a tattoo shop so of course she is going to have some art work. It's just not my thing. (I'm old, lol, and just don't get the whole fixation young people have with tattoos. Don't shoot me!) However, she does have a set of pipes and I really like her.

But I thought the talk box thing with David C. was cool. :D

I like Carlys tats, but I think that shirt was totally unflattering on her... hewr DH scares me with those tats on his face though.

I hated tonight!!!!!!!!! Carly was alright and so were the Davids... Sorry though I cannot see David A selling that many albums in real life.

    C-ya Kristy or Syesia.

I agree and was relieved to hear Simon say as much!! That was a valuable lesson to the Idol Franchise.

    Ok, my take -

Amanda - was shouting at first, but worked it out - not good enough for me to vote for.

    Kristy - bottom 3 again!

Michael - could be bottom three. He's also one that shouldn't dance! Like him, but didn't vote for him.

David A - redemption time! Good job, but I didn't vote for him - I assume all the screaming 12 yr. olds are doing that!

Brook - still like her and hope she makes it through, but didn't vote for her. Song and dance was a little wacky!

David C. - CONTINUES to be one of my two faves! Voted for him!!

Carly - LOVE HER!! She's my other favorite - hated the shirt - was not in tune with her tats. Too feminine. VOTED for her!

Syesha - I really liked her!! I think she is worthy of remaining in the competition! She's got pipes! Voted for her because I was worried about her a little....

Chikezie - While I really like him, I think the song was a little strange at first. I got into it by the end, but probably bottom 3

Ramiele - She's my other in the bottom 3 - she and Michael are a toss up for the 3rd spot, but being sent to safety.

I have been very tolerant of Paula and her ramblings for 6+ seasons, but wish she could be more succinct and make sense! I don't believe she's on drugs, I think her emotions get the best of her and she can't spit it out. I also hate how Simon keeps his arm in HER shot while she's making her comments. He taps her chair and things. Totally a passive aggressive move IMO....(Yes, I like Simon - just that little thing!).....

I thought Brooke sounded really good... but her dancing (if you call it that) was so distracting you couldn't enjoy the song, kwim?

I did call and vote for her, because I think her *singing* was good.

I really hoped someone would sing Hey Jude.

It is always soo frustrating because the judges continue to say that they want people to go outside their comfort zone then when they do they say it isn't them , they aren't good at it nd that they should stick to what they are good at. So which is it, mix it up or don't? Boring and predictable or take a risk and be horrible then be told they should just be true to themselves?
