I was totally shocked last night with Brooke NOT even being in the bottom two, wow. Carly is definitely is a better singer/performer than both Syesha and Brooke. Oh well. I don't think Carly would have won it in the end anyway.

I don't like Ruben's song either. Daughtry's and the Bad Day song were both great. This one is not memorable at all. No catchy tune or anything. :nea:

I LOVE Neil Diamond, too, Maureen! Can't wait to hear his songs next week. :bow2:

My favorite Neil song is Brother Loves Traveling Salvation Show but I doubt anyone will do that one :)

I bet someone will do Sweet Caroline, Forever in Blue Jeans...

OMG WHAT!!! WTH was Carly voted out for she was fantastic!! Definetly turning into a poplularity contest now. Why do people boot out the people who can actually sing and keep the crappy ones! x

So, I'm curious - DO YOU VOTE and DO YOU VOTE BASED ON THIS WEEK'S PERFORMANCE!?!

I have been guilty of voting JUST for David C, but I usually pick 2 to vote for. He's been great every week, so no reason NOT to. Last week Carly was GREAT for me! I voted for her and Cook. (but I have done that a lot).

In past weeks I have added others that I felt were strong and in danger.

What do you do? If you vote, HOW MANY TIMES?

I love David C but dont vote for him because I figure everyone else does already!

I vote usually 3 times for Jason each week!

I don't EVER vote for David A (besides the fact that I don't care if he wins) because the 12 yr. old + crowd probably votes for him enough, but I never fail to vote for David C because I CARE about him going far and doing well and can't rely on anyone else to vote for him - because they might "figure" that everyone is already doing it (thank goodness that seems to be true!!!) but I would hate to risk it. I think that's what happened to Michael Johns.

    I'm a study in contradictions! :D

I vote for probably at least 1/2 hr. or more if I can. I have no idea how many votes that will be.

I can't get myself to vote for someone I think is 2nd place. I figure 2nd place winners will get there on their own with their fan base voting for them a little less than my first place guy.

I am voting every week now that it is such a close competition.

I dont get a chance to vote because by the time the show gets aired over here the person has already been voted off. But if i did vote i would vote for Carly :cray: (when she was still there) and David c

I have only voted the past couple of weeks. I always vote for David C. He's usually very good, but I'm more apt to vote for him when he doesn't do as well because I don't want him to go. AND I have a crush on him. I know, I'm sad.

I vote for the three that I like, if they performed well. David C., Brooke and Jason are my faves, but last week, I only voted for David C. because he was the only one that did well. I dont vote for any of the others because I dont want them to win.

ETA- I text vote, so I just keep hitting "resend" to all the numbers until Hells kitchen starts... Then I have to focus!

Don't you be knocking one of the best Kenny Loggins songs ever - Celebrate Me Home. If you listen to the lyrics, it makes sense as an Idol farewell song. ("Give me one more song that I'll always remember...")

Not sure if Ruben gives it justice when compared to Loggins though. You really need to listen to the whole song - the last two minutes make it the great song that it is.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHKnIZdgXyQ...feature=related (Loggins and Ruben together - not sure if it was real or someone compiled it?; it's not as good as Loggins by himself though)

He has slew of songs to choose from. Many that he's written for others and never performed or recorded himself.

Sorry, Craig, but I'm not much of a Kenny Loggins fan, although I did like Loggins & Messina back in the day. I really can't stand this song, though, no matter who sings it. On the other hand, now Chrissy, I LOVE Michael McDonald!!

Okay, my favs tonight were David C and Syesha.

I called Jason's first song last week when I first heard that they were doing Neil Diamond.

Jason -- totally loved his first song (perfect for him) and thought he ruined it all with the second pick (but I still love him!)

David C -- AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gosh, I love him.

Brooke White -- her first song was a nightmare, loved her second song

David A -- simply brilliant! -- he is a prodigy and has the most natural talent out of any of them vocally-speaking -- totally not my preferred musical style, though, but I do appreciate him

Syesha -- zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz -- she bores me to tears although she does have a nice voice -- she is so not my style of artist, though

What was Paula on tonight?? 8P Sheesh, she was out of it!

Paula acted like she was on some type of meds. She was lost.

Jason -- This was his thing in a way. Again this week I did not expect him to do as well as he did.

David C -- Amazing. I love that he chooses songs that are not BIG hits for the artist of the week. Love his style and his sound.

Brooke -- was like a deer in the headlights on her 1st song. She was awesome on her seconds though. That was her ellement.

David A -- is so unoriginal. I still don't se what everyone sees in his singing. To me he lacks depth and originality. He seems to be picking only well known songs and never makes them his own (in a way depending on the emotion of the song to pull him through). I think he is seriously shocked when the judges say they like what he sang because he knows he lacks depth.

Syesha -- It seems that she has found her thing. I enjoy hearing her sing now that she is not trying to be a diva wanna be. She should not win AI but I think she will do great on Broadway.

I have a feeling we will be saying good bye to Brooke tomorrow night.

David A really is amazing(even though Dh and I joke that he is 5) and David Cook just rocks!

I am in love with Jason and his style. However, he did not wow me tonight like in Over the Rainbow and Hallelujah but I still liked him.

Brooke...she just cant sing AND dance. She is a little awkward! Love when she plays the piano.

I just am bored when Syesha sings. Not my style. However, I think she does have a good voice. I agree with the judges...I see her on broadway.

I cant believe Paula!!!! What the heck?!?!?!

Paula was cracking me up when she was critiquing on the 2 songs when she only sang the 1.

I have to say that Neil Diamond week could have kicked ***, he is one of the greatest singer song writers out there!!!! Anyhoo here are my thoughts...

Jason.. first song alright. I wish he would have mixed it up, second song was a total sleeper. I have to say once again I was dissappointed with how he treated the mentor.

David Cook. I enjoyed both his songs were wonderful. Does anyone know if the AC on his guitar is his brothers initals?

Brooke.. her first song was a total cheesey karaokee performance. She looked uncomfortable and I HATED it. Her gold is behind the piano which is why her 2nd song was great.

David A. Sorry hated him again. I thought his Sweet Caroline sounded totally Vegas Lounge act. I agree the kid has a good voice but cannot stand him. And America is a song that I can only hear done by Mr Diamond himself.

Syesha... hated the first one, the second one was alright....

It is Syeshas week to go with Brooke possibly being in danger.

Whatever Paula is on, I WANT SOME! :p

This was not my favorite week... because (I'm admitting this in public) I AM NOT A NEIL FAN.

David C was my favorite. David A, I am so bored with him. All his songs sound EXACTLY the same. Jason, kinda blah for me too. Brooke, what a train wreck! Second one was ok though. Syesha, not sure there. She has a great voice but I am getting Ramielle vibes... just kinda forgettable in present company.

Anyway, I think its Syesha tomorrow or maybe even Jason.

Jason is good to look at but didnt think he did that well.

    David Cook is awesome!

David A is good but all his songs sound the same to me.

Brooke is awful, she should have been gone weeks ago instead of Carly.

Syesha should be on Braodway, she's so cute and I think she did well.

And they say Paula isnt on drugs?!?!? Um, ok!! :p

Ok! Ok! Ok! I haven't looked at ANY replies tonight. I am sitting with my laptop watching on DVR!!!
    first song:
#1 - First off is JASON CASTRO!!! WOW!! I loved him on NEIL NIGHT!!!
#2 - I think these songs are up his alley....but they sound kinda the same. He'll do well, but he's a little in danger!

#1-Cook - I have to laugh out loud that he can ROCK a Neil song and make it AWESOME!! Loved that he gave Neil GOOSE BUMPS!
#2 - Beginning not memorable - middle - THAT IS MY COOK!!! NOT the STRONGEST CHOICE, but he can sing his way out of a paper bag!! Interesting song choice, but i"ll be voting for him. I guess I wasn't paying strong enough attention. :drinks:

#1- Brooke- LOVING HER tonight!!! Like the tone and upbeat song!!
#2- Love it when she plays piano (very Billy!) This song suits her!!! She'll do well this week. Like his music on her!!

Neil Diamond - so funny because he really has a lot of great songs but he's like a guilty pleasure !!

David A - Not loving Sweet Caroline so far - he's having fun and the tweens are going nuts. This is the most upbeat song I think I've heard him sing. Like how much fun he had. But didn't love it. Neil's voice has a rich quality that David's airy voice isn't going to have!
#2- He better knock this out of the park. His breathy voice might not work for this. He might need more richness. Up With People comes to mind! He doesn't have that much range. He doesn't have the right voice for this! It's a good performance, but NOT THE BEST this song can be sung! IMO. I know the judges will love it.

Syesha - nice extensions and sparkly eyeshadow. Ouch, couldn't go barefoot on that stage. She's hitting the high notes very well!!! She's not my favorite so far tonight. Nice, but more forgettable.
#2 - this is right up her alley!!! she's cute. she sounds good, but she's in the bottom with Jason for me. Well - - - -

Paula!! Have another PILL!!! She looks naked!!

Ok, if I was really saying what I want - David A would be in the bottom 2 for me, but since I KNOW that won't happen - Jason and Syesha!

Who would have thought that a week of Neil Diamond songs is highlighted by Paula's was she on meds/was she not on meds talk? Or that Dolly Parton music had more highlights than Diamond?

Anyway, I don't think it really matters who is going home because it's probably going to be Syesha, Brooke and Jason over the next three weeks leaving the David vs. David showdown in the final week. And that's probably not going to be too close either especially if parents remove all phones from any girls under the age of 16 the final Idol show of the season. I'd like to see Jason leave although Simon is usually right so it will probably be Syesha.

I hope it's Syesha but I fear for Jason and Brooke. I'd like to see it come down to the two Davids and Jason with David A taking the pot so the other two can actually have decent careers, lol.

Really? Everything I've read said both his AC tattoo and the letters on his guitar are for his brother, Adam Cook. Even Randy asked Adam if he was the AC on David's guitar.
