I wish Brooke would have stood up instead of just sitting through her performance. She just seemed scared.

I noticed she seems to sit A LOT during performances. For someone who does not have a great vocal range, that is a total no no. My vocal coaches used to say that standing is best because the diaphragm is able to expand and contract correctly, allowing the best breathing needed for vocalizing.

Per the Dial idol prediction website http://www.dialidol.com ,they are predicting Jason, Brooke and Carly to be the bottom 3. We'll see.

    no more black outs :D

I think SYESHA was a stand out last night. She amazed me. I did not tghink she was going to do so well. She is not an all around singer or someone "who can sing anything" though.

DAVID C was amazing! He to me can sing anything and prooved it last night. I did not think this was going to be a night that he shined but he did. I am glad that he did not change the song to be "his style"

BROOK disapointed me. She lacks confidence and it is really showing these last few performances. She could have done so much better.

JASON also lacked confidence last night but I feel it was because that was just not his thing. He is a very good singer and can do "his thing" really well.

I am not all that familar with broadway shows. Did CARLY change the wording and the beat of Jesus Christ Superstar? was this an original change by her? I think she did well but this was kind of her thing also. It would have been more interesting and showed more variety by her if she sang it with the original beat.

DAVID A did not WOW me. He never does but I expected him to last night. He could have done so much better but he seems to be stuck in a shell. Last night I thought he could have blown me away but he did not.

Have faith in yourself!!! Have a great time with the Golden God!!! :p
Oh, I had the BEST time!! (See the Corn for my mini-review. ;) )

DAVID C. -------> love him!!!!

Carly was fabulous tonight too and she looked great for once (finally!). :D

I still love Jason, poor kid. He was totally out of his element.

David A and Syesha were most in their element. Still not a Syesha fan at all though.

Brooke -- WTF? She needs to get it together. At this point in the competition no stopping and starting allowed.

Did anyone see that Carly looked like she had a little baby bump going on? I think I deleted the show, I was going to go back and watch it again to look again. Maybe it was just me.

Tonight I think the bottom three will be Brooke, Jason and Carly.

I did not like Syesha before last night, but she ROCKED! That is definitely her forte!
Jason didnt try as hard a she should have, I think he needs to step it up.
David A. was trying so hard to keep his eyes open that it was distracting. He was good, but forgettable.
Brooke is the sweetest thing, but I think she is going home tonight... she also needs to up her game.
Carly did the same as she does every week. She is good, shes had the training. I think she needs to stand out a little more.
David C. also did good. I think he was #2 behind Syesha, but it wasnt my favorite for him. I agree with Simon...

So, tonights results show should be good, because they are all decent... Its going to be SO EMOTIONAL when Brooke leaves ... be it tonight or next week.

I totally agree that this could cause Brook to go home this week.

It is going to be sad imo to see any go home at this point, well not so sad to see Syesha go but with her performance this week I would guess that this will not be here week to go.

I'm worried for Brooke tonight. Breaks my heart cause I do really like her.

I'm also worried for Jason. H says he's got a bigger following than Brooke, and it will save him this time. His comment about not knowing his song was sung by a cat was halarious. I mean, come on man!

I thought, even to my own frustration, that Shyesha did really well. Still thought it was some what of a flat performance, JMO, but it was a ton better than anything else she's done.

Carly was a blast, I thought... Even down to the pelvic looking design plastered on the front of her dress. I swear, it looked just like the anatomy of a woman pics you see in health class!! ROFLMAO.. it was quite distracting for me. Though the dress did fit with the performance, just wish the print had been just a bit smaller and less... well... anatomy looking.

I LOVED David C. He was amazing. Always is, really.

David A didn't do a thing for me. He was just there... and trying so darn hard to keep his eyes open was very distracting. I'm just not a fan.

I actually thought that this week was pretty darn good... I was surprised I liked it. I was dreading it. But ALW was pretty darn cool in himself and I am looking forward to tonight.

Well... looking forward to seeing what he does on the show, not to see the results.

Yes, I'm an official loser, lol. I am watching last night's show for the 2nd time. I was working out this morning and trying to watch at the same time. I totally missed Simon's nice comments to Brooke after her lost lyrics snafu. How much do I love him? :D

And how much do I love when Simon winks?? ;)

I really, really hope Jason does not get sent home, but I'm worried for him and for Brooke. Either way someone I like will be going home tonight, unless it's Syesha. She just annoys me. She can sing and she had a strong week but there's something about *her* I don't like at all. Not sure what it is. David A can really sing too, although he's not my favorite, he's just so sweet. I guess having a 17-year old son myself makes me "get" him a little bit or something. And he can sure as heck sing.

Now, Carly did a fabulous job, finally. She has a big voice, so powerful, but her song choice is always weak. I was so glad ALW steered her to the song she sang. And it didn't hurt that the musical, Jesus Christ Superstar, is my favorite ever. (I still know every single lyric to every song from that score and I also still have the original score on vinyl with Ian Gillan as Jesus. :D ) Loved her and she looked so amazing.

And then there's my baby, David C. He is just terrific. I think he is so talented and knows just how to use his voice for the best.

I agree I am so glad ALW steered Carly away from her original song.

I would like to see Brooke stay in because I think she would do awesome for Neil Diamond week, as would Jason C.

:rotflmbo: Kim, I'll call you DEVOTED!!! LOL!!!
I understand what you are saying about Syesha. She did well, she doesn't bug me that much, but she's outlived her usefulness (to be crass).

David A is cute and can sing. I just don't "get" him as much as most who LOVE him.

I did a poll on dialidol.com today and David C was the front runner by a MILE!

WOW! I was not expecting any of that.

When they brought out the first 2 I thought well neither of them will be going to the stools. I was right.

Then the next two came out and I thought well we know who is going over to the couch. I was wrong.

Then the last two came out and again I thought well we know who is going over to the couch. I was wrong again.

Then out of those two I thought well I bet ------------- will be going home tonight and BAM again I was wrong.

    It was a shocking evening.

So this is off topic but was anyone else anoyed by ALWs twitching and movements while talking with Ryan on stage?

It actually worried me a bit. He reminded me of Michael J. Fox w/Parkinson's! Wouldn't that be a devastating blow to Broadway (and the world!)? I am glad you brought that up. I wanted to comment on it and would have forgotten.

Ok, Obviously - I am shocked! I CANNOT BELIEVE IT!!!

Brooke really thought she was headed to the couch and then Syesha probably thought she was going home (again!) - I voted for Carly a LOT! (Might have spent more time on David C).

Are we to assume that the David's were the TOP vote getters then?

I am so sad that she's gone! I really really loved her and have to make a point to follow her career and try to buy some of her stuff!!! :(

Interesting, not at all what I expected.

I think I am losing something for Jason, after the Cats thing last night and the yawning backstage tonight, I just think it portrays such a lack of interest. I don't know if what it portrays to me is accurate (that he really isn't interested) and I know their schedule has to be downright exhausting but you could at least attempt to keep that under wraps for the hour of the elimination show!

Yeah- that yawn! He is as carefree as they come! But he was so nervous when he came out which makes me think that some of his lack of interest moments are actually him dealing with his shyness and lack of being able to speak in public well (which he said in an interview before) (although that has nothing to do with his yawning!). You could hear in his microphone when he walked out that he was saying, "Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy"

So many people gave Clinton a break when he was sleeping during a Martin L. King speech a few months back... guess I feel I have to give Jason a break too!

I was disappointed to see Carly leave before Brooke or Jason, but I know my wife won't miss her tatoo. I'll actually be thankful I won't have to be blinded by her husband's tatoos with the audience shots. I hope Brooke and Jason are very thankful they're still in the competition and do better next week with Neil Diamond!

Nah, I just think that's his persona. And I find it endearing, lol. He reminds me of Brian's guitar teacher who is about the same age (and happens to be an ID twin!). Brian's teacher was a jazz guitar major at UT, extremely talented, and he is now doing a small tour with his band. He has that same way about him. Half the time they have to wake him up for gigs! He's not lazy, he's definitely motivated, he just is so laid back, and I actually think Jason is much like this. Josh (Brian's teacher) says too when he does have nerves, his remedy is sleep! I could be way wrong but I perceive Jason in much the same way.

Personally, his comment about not knowing a cat sang the song made me laugh. If you've never seen the musical, I don't imagine you would know that, lol.

Carly handled her exit with grace. She did so well this week. I was shocked to see her go. Great, now we get another week of Syesha. Ugh.

Agreed. But Brooke has a fan base (it's all those "crying" girls) and Syesha did well this week (and apparently has a fan base too). I don't think Carly had a very big fan base, which unfortunately AI is all about.

I can definitely see Brooke doing that song, Sarah.

I'm trying to think of other songs that people will do. Sweet Caroline, Forever in Blue Jeans, Love on the Rocks, Shiloh, America, I'm a Believer, Hello Again....I don't know. I can see Jason doing Forever in Blue Jeans or Song Sung Blue.

I still think Carly had to leave to go take care of that baby bump :D .......I swear I saw it again last night. Maybe thats why she wasnt all that upset? She looked so pretty in her "going home" video didnt she? She was just starting to grow on me then she left, I would have rather Brooke or Syesha got the boot!

An aside: What in the world is the song Ruben is singing in the "going home" video saying? We celebrate me home?? That doesnt make any sense at all! It makes me crazy to hear it every week! <_<

I don't understand that song either. I could not find a live version of Rubin singing the song on You tube. I did find a you tube of Kenny Loggins singing the song and get it a little more but still did not like the song. During that search I also found a video of Clay Aiken singing it and HE sounded so much better singing it.

    :(

I was sad to see Carly go... And well, surprised. I was soooooo hoping it would be Shyesha.

But, she handled it wonderful. The smile was lovely. I think it was the best send off ever, actually. All happy, understanding, exciting, and well... graceful. I think she's amazing, and will do really really well. I'm looking forward to seeing where she goes from here.

I'm glad brooke didnt leave, I was really worried for her. Ironically, I wasn't worried for carly at all!

Jason is a hoot, and I dont think he even knows it!! H made me rewind the part when he yawned cause I missed it, and was like "what are ya laughing at???"... HAHA. Then he came out and said "but I don't want to sing right now" ROFL. The kid is halarious. And I swear, he doesn't even realize he's doing it. He seems to get flustered.

Anyways... Was a nice elemination show.

I also don't like the song by Rueben. Its annoying. And I can't understand half of what he's singing. Now, I thought Ryan said Rueben WROTE a song for the farwells this year... but you all say Kenny loggins sings it and so did Clay akin????? Whats up with that???? But, I never liked Rueben, and was upset that he won... so upset that we didn't watch the next season AT ALL.... So, well... its not surprising that I don't like him singing the farwell song. I too wish it was still Daughtry's home. or even Bad day. But, I am sooooo glad its not still that stupid "Put your blue jeans back on" Song... OMG, I absolutely LOATH it!!!! Just sounds so freaken RUDE!!

I was definitely surprised last night. DH and I both thought Brooke and Jason would be the bottom two with probably Brooke going home. How wrong we were! IMO Carly and Syesha had the 2 STRONGEST performances this week! I felt bad for Brooke because she totally thought it was her going home and seemed upset that she got to stay and someone who totally outsang her was in the bottom 2. Aww!

I agree that Rueben's song is kinda boring. Well, not kinda, just plain old boring! Loved Daughtry's song last season!
