I was kinda glad that Ryan did not say anything about David Cooks brother beeing in the audience tonight to make sure he did not get any "sympathy votes" but how emotional was that!!!! What a performance, regardless on if it was original or not the fact that his brother was there (who obviously does not have much longer)!!!! I also think performance wise David Cook far out performs the rest from the way he stands on stage. I really think he just comands it. However I hope he does not win it because he will do just fine without the win.

I still do not get David A. He has a sweet voice but I cannot hear a full album by him. Carly sounded alright but I think she ended up struggling. I also think that Brooke struggled as well. Jason is sweet too and will make a great Jack Johnson type but I see him in the top 3.

My bottom 3 this week... Carly, Kristy and Syesha with Carly or Syesha going home.

Yeah wow! I did not even think about that! I wonder if they call David C out first so that he can relax since his brother will be there.

 

Oh my gosh, no matter whether I agree or not with the person going home at this point, I cry right along with them as they leave. (But too funny at the farewell song with Simon!)

I was also sad to hear Elliot Yamin's mother had passed away. He's a sweet soul.

how dumb was the elimination process tonight...... I mean the whole splitting up in groups and swapping them around DUMB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyhoo... totally agree with who went hom.

Poor Elliott, how sad for him.

Devon was waiting for a Mariah boob to pop out. That is the only time his eyes have ever been glued on idol. She must have had some GREAT double sided tape or hot glued those bad boys in there.

I think it is Andrew Lloyd Weber...

I downloaded the David Cook song from this week. I did not like it as much as the performance but it is still good. It is very Armegeddon soundtrack sounding, but still good.

 

America finally got it right tonight. We just need a few more ladies to get sent home and I think it will come down to David A, David C and Jason. I pick David A to win it because of the teenage girl vote. I would be prefer David C because he is AMAZING, but I want him to write his own stuff (like Daughtry) so I would rather not have him win. Love Jason too and I think he will have a career either way.

WOW, I can totally imagine David C singing "Phantom of the Opera"? He could really rock that one out!

 

I can see Carly doing that You Must Love me song from Evita....

 

We have to see David Cook try Jesus Christ Superstar, don't we? And how about Jason Castro trying (from the same musical) Hair?

A couple of strong ballads from Evita or Phantom of the Opera would be good choices for Syesha or David A or Carly. And I'm guessing Brooke will try Memory from Cats (although I hope she doesn't)

I agree, Sarah. I also predicted David A will take it all. I don't actually want to see David C. win because, like you said, I want to see him be free to write and record his own music and not be "bound" by the AI contract. And Jason is probably my second favorite. I would so buy a CD of his.

Who's going to sing "Don't Cry for Me, Argentina?" Or "I Don't Know How to Love Him?" I'd love to see David C take on something from JCS, my favorite musical score of all time. Hey, if Sebastian Bach can do it . . .

Lots of possibilities for song choices with this theme!

 

That was a strange way to split them up and then re-mix them.

I wondered for a moment (just a quick moment) if somehow David C fans did not vote for him so that he could do his own thing rather than be the American Idol. I don't think that would be a good thing to do though because I would imagine he is (along wity all the others are) in it to win it.

I am glad that America finally got it right tonight but I would not have been upset to see Syesha go. Glad it was Kristy before her though. She should be next to go..

Sarah, thanks - you saved me the trouble! But it would be a little refreshing to have the BEST CONTESTANT WIN. IMAGINE! :umm:

I voted for David C a lot! (Carly too - I don't know what their problem is with her!)

I think we caught a glimpse of our top 4 tonight. I, personally think it's a toss up for the top 3 - with Jason or Carly being the 3rd....

Chrissy, I was cracking up!! I fast forwarded through Mariah's WHOLE performance! I loved her studded microphone. :laughing:

Syesha and Brooke are the next in danger and probably Carly - will round out the bottom three after now....

David A handled that whole - go stand by the group you think is safe thing (DUMB@SS MOVE by Ryan or the producers) VERY WELL!!! I loved it when he just sat down!!! :rotflmbo: He won a few points with me during that (I still say he's a boring performer).

I can't WAIT for Andrew Lloyd Weber week!!! HOW AWESOME!!!! :Clap: Now when Simon says "It was like a Broadway performance" will that be a compliment or an insult? :unsure:


I think I'll bust out some of my stuff and do a refresher!! LOVED EVITA and AIDA is one of my all time favorites (too bad that's not ALW -rather Tim Rice!) I hope we hear some great stuff!!! I think they will be WISE to pick more recognizable songs!!!

The pick which group you think you belong in is not new and the sitting down was not new either. I am trying to remember who it was but I am thinking maybe Kimberly Locke was the first to take a seat? It might not have been, I honestly can't remember but I was saying out loud, David just be a copy cat and sit down! David has watched many an AI season and knew exactly what he was doing.

 

Ok, so some weird observations. Seems dialidol was wrong for the first time this season and did anyone know that ebay sponsors vote for the worst? I wanted to see who they had this week and it brought me to ebay. I had to click on a link to get me to vote for the worst. Interesting choice of sponsorship for Ebay!

 

I wasn't surprised to see Kristy go home as I think she's been on borrowed time for a long time. However, I must say I think she's been improving over the past few weeks. Based on their performances this week I honestly thought Brooke should have gone home, although I like her better than Kristy. Just thought Brooke's singing wasn't as good as Kristy's this week. I think even Brooke thought she was going home.

Next week should prove to be a good show!

Yeah- last season someone sat down like David did (I am almost positive) because when he did it, I automatically tried to think who else did that--was it Jordan Sparks??

I thought it was Jordan too.

I liked Kristy.. yeah I know I'm in a minority here.. But I did like her. Thought she picked really bad songs, and would have had a better "connection" had she put more thought into them.. But, I liked her and am sorry to see her leave. Thought her singing to Simon was priceless. Loved it. She had finally started stepping up and getting things right. picking good songs, and singing pretty well. I was proud of her. Oh and I thought Ryan trying to guilt the man who owns her horse into sellign it back was halarious!

I wish it had been Shyesha to go home, but oh well.

Glad it wasn't Brooke, as I absolutely adore her.

Looking forward to next week. Think its gonna be interesting..

OHHH... I just have to say that Mariah sounded absolutely terrible. She looked rediculous too. She's 39... and she still dresses as if she's going to the high school prom! And then all that plugging of her cd, and Divaish behavior while Ryan was talking was just, well.. embarrasing. I'm still in shock that Idol had her on. I just cant imagine how she came to have 18 number 1 hits... thats just scary.

I thought it was Blake who did the sitting last year... I remembered it when David sat down. Can't blame him, though. He didn't want to choose a group! I think I would have sat too.

The first season I watched was the one where Taylor Hicks won and I remember him sitting down and not picking sides.

Ok, they don't have a NEW worst. They have the voting up to vote for who the next 'worst' will be. I think we should all vote for David A or David C and really mess with them!!!

Verizon was the sponsor that was showing on the page. I am sure that Ebay just wants exposure, they don't really care where the ad is!

totally agree.

Also did you all notice how her mic made her voice echo once she started talking to Ryan. I imagine it was set to enhance her voice for her singing. This is one thing I do not like about todays music. I wonder how much of it is actaully their voices singing and how much is computer enhanced.

 

The other thing I notice about Mariah is how she is sorta a "conductor" for herself. Pointing her way through the notes almost. If any of the Idols did that they'd get their heads chewed off by Simon!

We zipped through Mariah's whole performance, too! Glad to know we didn't miss any spectacular. Next week should be really good with ALW music. I love "show tunes." :blush:

Kristy was engaged and didn't tell anyone? I can't imagine getting engaged and not wanting to shout if from the roof tops. Congrats to them! From the quotes I have heard and read she sounds very happy with both her personal life and her AI life, good for her!!!
