I know!! That's a very good point!! WHO DOES? But, maybe they are closet fans and won't admit to it?

 

Not me... never been a fan. H didn't even know who she was while she was singing last week. He paused it to ask me, then when I said who it was and that I've never cared much for her singing, he was relieved cause he wanted to fast forward through it! HAHA... So, we only saw the first little bit of her performance, the rest was on speed play with out sound! HAHA.

Not looking forward to next week at all. Except maybe that I think EACH contestant will sing her songs better than her! HAHA

 

I guess Davids Cooks brother is dying http://www.wthr.com/Global/story.asp?S=8162000 of cancer and is going to be able to attend next weeks taping to see his brother perform. He has brain cancer and it has spread to his spine.

I saw that earlier Chrissy! It's going to be an EMOTIONAL week for David!!!

 

Do they have to sing Mariah songs or is it Pop songs??? When Gwen Stefani mentored them she just critiqued their performing... I also wonder why the mentors no longer sit down on the judges panel....

I believe the reason Mariah is slated to be the mentor this week is that it comes at the same time her new album is scheduled to be released.

Her body may be hot, but she is dressing like she is 22 when she is really 39. I just think she is skanky.

I'm anxious to see what TS'ers think about tonight's show; I think all seven did well enough and agreed with Simon that the guys stole the show. I'll reserve comments about the musical performances until I can figure out if David Cook's version of 'Always Be My Baby' was original or not. Regardless, reading earlier posts about his brother and then seeing his brother in the audience and his reaction, I really admire him. Obviously these lyrics meant so much to him...

Loved the "Davids" and Jason tonight. They made the most out of Mariah (whom I still cannot stand, lol) and surprised me actually. The girls struggled a bit more. I was also really touched by David C and his brother tonight.

 

I was boycotting Mariah.... B)

 

what the heck was Mariah wearing tonight!!! Wow that woutfit had to of hurt. I was kinda glad that Ryan did not say anything about David Cooks brother beeing in the audience tonight to make sure he did not get any "sympathy votes" but how emotional was that!!!! What a performance, regardless on if it was original or not the fact that his brother was there (who obviously does not have much longer)!!!! I also think performance wise David Cook far out performs the rest from the way he stands on stage. I really think he just comands it. However I hope he does not win it because he will do just fine without the win.

I still do not get David A. He has a sweet voice but I cannot hear a full album by him. Carly sounded alright but I think she ended up struggling. I also think that Brooke struggled as well. Jason is sweet too and will make a great Jack Johnson type but I see him in the top 3.

My bottom 3 this week... Carly, Kristy and Syesha with Carly or Syesha going home.

 

I was ready to hurl if Paula complimented Mariah one more time!

Oh, and the other night I had a dream about Jason! That just is not right! I am too old to be having a dream about him! It was nothing crazy though! I just told him I liked his music and he quietly mumbled 'Thanks' (you know how he talks in his quiet/shy way!).

eta- I was not as bothered by Mariah as I thought I would be.

 

Once again, I think David C rocked. He is just so confident and comfortable on stage - like he was born to be there. Very touching seeing his brother in the audience too. Emotional.

I think David A did great as well as Jason. I agree that the boys did better than the girls. I thought Kristy actually did pretty good tonight and Syesha too. Carly was pretty good also. No one did horrible, although I'm thinking Brooke could be the one going home tomorrow. She seemed the most nervous up there. Too bad she had to miss her sister's wedding. Aww.

 

I really think it should be time for Brooke to go as well. Her performance showed she just doesn't have the vocal range of the other contestants remaining. And for her to be nervous at this stage indicates she doesn't really have the stage presence either, something Kristy, for instance, continues to improve. I guess I could see Carly leaving either, but it should be Brooke, in my opinion, at this point.

I'm hoping David Cook's performance was original. If so, it was the best of the night (with some shaky moments at the beginning). David A. was a close 2nd in terms of being the most professional.

For those who thought earlier I know too much about Mariah, let me just say I'm not a big fan of hers although like most American males, I can recite from memory the date of her breast implants and important details surrounding that momentous occasion in American music history. As for her outfit last night, it has to be better than what she wore on New Year's Eve a couple of years ago on Dick Clark's show the night he came back from his stroke.

 

I do have to say Mariah looks fantastic. She's lost weight and is in fabulous shape as opposed to her spray-painted on abs days, lol. I'm sure you all remember that one but just in case I have a pic!

I did not like Carley's performance....to me she is the one who should go home.

I think David A has an amazing voice. However, I say every week to DH that he is a great singer but he is young and so "green" yet. He reminds me so much of Sean's good friend, Zach, who would react the same way in front of a large audience.

While I love David A I would never buy a CD of his though, but then again, of all the AI winners, there is no one whose CD I've ever bought. I've only got the Daughtry CD. So I think maybe David A should win so that David C can have the recording career he should have!

Ok, for the RECORD. I was also NOT as annoyed by Mariah as I suspected I would be. Almost boycotted, but glad that I didn't!! I am more impressed that she's written all that stuff. I didn't realize that, and for that - I have WAY more respect for her now. (Still NOT a FAN.) She looked great (very airbrushed, but great.) Now that we have that out of the way...

David A SNORE! I am sorry, but he BORES ME! Yes, he can sing - but he's BORING!

Carly - I really liked her take on that song!! I thought she was great. (voted for her)

Syesha - She wasn't horrible. Did NOT love her. (I say bottom 3)

Brooke - You could tell she struggled with that. (I say bottom 3)

Kristy - I wasn't all that impressed, but she continues to step up to the plate (I say bottom 3)

David C - SUPERSTAR!!! He's awesome!! Thought it was great and very moving at the end. Ryan will talk to him about it tonight because voting is over.

Jason - It was OK. He'll have a decent career. He just strikes me as a sorta folksy, kinda guy who will be high all the time.

So, overall not that bad. I will probably be ffwd'ing through Mariah singing tonight! But am very curious to see who goes home!

The guys definitely out sang the girls last night. Surprisingly so, imho. I fear for Brooke tonight. Possibly Kristy will go, but I've been hoping for that for a month now and she's still with us :unsure: so I give up!

Mariah didn't bother me last night, but that's because she wasn't singing! :lol: . Tonight I'll be gritting my teeth, though :mellow: .
