I was surprised by two of the three in the bottom three and also a little surprised by the person who was sent home.

---

I know I'll probably be in the minority, but I look forward to the upcoming mentors they previewed during the results show. Mariah Carey (this final 10 probably has half the field who can carry that off), Dolly Parton (not as interesting to me, but there's a good selection of songs), Neil Diamond (probably the most interesting of the four they mentioned--wonder who will do I'm a Believer?) and then my personal favorite, Andrew Lloyd Webber. I'd love to see Michael or David A. try 'Bring Him Home' from Les Miz.

I was too... I have to say I think SOMEONE else should have gone home. I am going to start voting I guess.

On a side note.. rumor is David A dad is a real stage dad. It is rumored on TMZ that when on Star Search he border lined harrased the other contestant and was making David cry. He kinda resembles Danny Bonadouche to me.... So there is my AI trash for the day...

The wrong person went home tonight. And two of the wrong people were in the bottom three. Sad.

I never loved the person sent home tonight, but then again, I never loved their style of music - so I'm the wrong person to ask. I'm just relieved it wasn't my favorite!

I just read about this (didn't see the results). I'm surprised that she went home already. I never liked her, but I know a lot of people did. Also surprised by one of the other bottom 3.

I'm a little disappointed that
Carly
was in the bottom 3. :nea: She's not my favorite, but I do like her and she is one of the better singers. While it wasn't the best, I still enjoyed her performance Tues.

IMO
Christy
should have gone home <_< . I hope she's next.... She's already outstayed her welcome on my TV!

I agree, Kristy should have went home. I was sad to see Amanda go...

I am really glad Brooke made it through!! :clapping:

I think the wrong person for the week was voted off, but.....she wasn't going to win it all. I still think it was Kristy's week. Kristy knew it too....

I heard that Amanda was votefortheworst choice - so on one hand, I am glad that their ploy isn't working this year!! I really think she's gone too soon in the grand scheme, but I'm not altogether upset about it. I wasn't the biggest fan of hers.

I think Carly and Amanda in the bottom three was crazy!

I don't think they had the bottom 3 correct either. While I do not think Amanda or Carly should win the whole thing I don't believe they belonged in the bottom 3.

Kristy needs to go. I think she knows it also. I don't think Chikezie, Syesha, Ramalie or Jason will be the BIG winner either but they are at least good singers more often than not.

I also do not think David A is going to win (probably mostly because I really like David C) I finally figured out why I don't like the way David A sings. He is not (imho) singing from inside he sings more with his breath/mouth. My DH thinks I am crazy and thinks David A has a great voice. I did hear about his Dad on a preview commercial of TMZ but I missed the show. They said his Dad made people cry.

Well, only 2 more nights to see what happens on the continuing saga of American Idol. I was disappointed with the results this past week. While Amanda was not my favorite I don't think she deserved to go home just yet. And for Carly to be in the bottom three - who's voting??? Personally, I think Kristy should have gone home. We'll see what happens this week.

Cheryl, I've noticed David A.'s "breathy" singing, too. I do like him a lot. He's a cute kid and sings well. I think for him to win he'll have to become more diverse. So far his renditions of upbeat tunes haven't been good.

I thought Kristy should have gone, too, but Amanda going was fine with me. She's always the same and I didn't see her going much farther anyway. I was really shocked that Carly was in the bottom 3 :nea: . I didn't care for the song she sang either, but she sang it beautifully. I love Simon and agree with him most of the time, but one thing he does that frustrates me is not separating the song from the singing. KWIM? Like with Carly last week. He didn't like the song, has never like it. He made it that clear. HOWEVER, he never commented on HER singing of it! Was she awful? NO. Was it out of her league? NO. Was she "off" the notes, tune, etc. NO. I was little miffed with him last week  and wonder if the voters of America followed his lead?

I didn't think there was a really bad performance tonight and a couple that really stood out. Michael definitely had his best song of the year and once again David Cook was really cool. Did anyone catch whose version of Billie Jean he sang? Was it the same or did he change it somewhat still? Heck, even Kristy wasn't too bad (far be it from me to say her song was no good--I might be sent to Guantanamo if I do).

I'll put Chikeze, Jason, Ramiele, Carly, Kristy and Brooke potentially as among the bottom three (and in that order). I think Syesha, David C., David A. (even though he was one of the worst on the night) and Michael as safe.

21. Mama_Kim

That was Chris Cornell's version of Billie Jean. I love Chris Cornell and I love this version but David Cook did an even better job than Chris, who is one of my top ten vocalists of all time. (He has sung lead for Soundgarden and Audioslave.)

I loved DAVID COOK again tonight. He is AWESOME!!! I also enjoyed Michael Johns a lot, and yes, even Kristy Lee Cook. While their performances were not my favorite of theirs, Jason, Brooke, David A and Carly are still in my top favorites as well. I didn't like Carly's song choice at all and thought she was boring tonight though. I personally really enjoyed Jason's song choice.

Ramiele would be my pick to leave based upon this week's performance. She just isn't my cup of tea.

I wanted to add I really missed Amanda tonight. She wasn't going to win the competition but she brought something different. I get so tired of the Ramiele/Chikezie/Syesha/David A brand of songs. Even though they are all fantastic singers, they are boring to me. Even David A and I love his voice.

Not to mention Chris Cornell is rocker hottie ;) David Cook was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! I hope he does not win though and have to be subjected to that horrible idol song Blake had to sing last year. Those songs suck every year!!!

Sorry I thought David A was super Cheesy and I had to agree with Simon. When David was singing I told Devon it wounded like a song from a Disney parade.

Jason C was so quiet. I could barely hear him singing. I like Brooke but it is kinda the same old every week. Ramielle, Kristy and Syesa can go They are just not my thing. Carly I am voting for because I know that girl can sing and that she has potential (that dress was not flattering at all!!!). Rumor is there is a bun in the oven with her though.

I though Chikezie was alright tonight. Not horrible but that is one hot song that I think only Luther can rock out.

I also think Michael Johns was GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOVED David C. !!!! AWESOME, I actually rewound it to watch it again, only the second time I've ever done that (Daughtry being the 1st ) !

Here is the Chris Cornell version he used. Reminds me of when Daughtry did Live's version of Walk the Line. Still both AMAZING performances!

I think Ramiele & Chikezie are in danger of going home.... not sure who the third bottom spot will be? IMHO, it SHOULD be David A., but that will never happen as DH pointed out, he is too popular with the younger teeny bopper vote. Christy saved herself with that pander for the patriotic & military vote :p.

My favs tonight...David Cook and Michael Johns. My bottom 2 are Chikeze and Ramielle...good voices but nothing that would interest me on the radio.

Chrissy....also heard the rumor about Carly being preggo. She seemed a bit off her game tonight. She didn't help rumors by saying that she had to run to the bathroom before performing. Maybe it is morning sickness. Wonder how a pregnant idol would play out?? Having to tour all summer during the last trimester. Guess we'll see?

What was Simon's comment to David A. about him not picking the song? Is that a dig against his stage dad?

I was thinking the bathroom comment from Carly was because of the position she was in during the last note (thinking someone said something that couldn't be heard on the air).

THE RETURN OF MICHAEL JOHNS!!!! LOVED IT! So, hard to do Queen well!!

DAVID COOK ROCKS!!! That was HOT!!!

I'm replying without looking at anyone's responses so I don't lose my train of thought :)

I am a little surprised, but I really didn't think Kristy was in the bottom 3 tonight!! I thought that Ramiele BUTCHERED her song! Butchered!

She was my worst, and then in Chikezie and Jason Castro.

David Archuleta's song choice was very strange, wonder if Simon was making a statement about the STAGE DAD?!?

Totally disagreed with Simon about Carly I thought she nailed that song!!! . I like Syesha again too! Jason Castro was "fine" for me, nothing memorable.

Liked Brooke, think she looked like a star last night and LOVED what they did with her hair!

I thought Carly did GREAT, but I really didnt like that ending very much. She could have ended it very well without it.
David A is my fav .. but that song was kind of a weird choice. :)

Was that her nod to the 80s since most of them were born then? :D

I thought Michael was awesome! David C was great, too. And I liked Carly (I really like that song), Syesha, Chikezie. I think Kristy redeemed herself last night for at least another week. I did not like David A's song choice and I think maybe Simon was making a dig there. Brooke did well I thought, too. I think Ramiele will be going home tonight.

 You know....I was thinking that a bit too when I saw that far shot of her in that squat!!! LOL!!!

I hadn't heard about the pregnancy stuff. I wonder if that's a deal breaker for AI? I kinda doubt she would be because this is her BIGGEST DREAM in LIFE. Just a thought, but I don't know the rules.....(OBVIOUSLY!)

Michael Johns was EXCELLENT last night! He can really belt out Queen! Way to go! He was my top performance of the night ... until David Cook came on. Wow! He is super talented! At the beginning of the top 24 I wasn't really into him at all, but in the last several weeks he's proved he can win this thing if he keeps it up! Way to go David!

Surprisingly, my third top pick of the night was Kristy Lee Cook. I don't really care for her, think she deserved to go home for the last 3 weeks in a row ... but ... last night she actually sang well and definitely picked the right song for her. I'm almost embarrassed to say I hope she doesn't go home tonight. I really don't think she'll stick around too long though.

My bottom 3 performances were Ramiele, Jason and Chikezie. I think it'll be either Ramiele or Jason going home tonight. I liked the beginning of Jason's song but he totally lost me half way through.
