American Idol 2009

I loved the show tonight. So entertaining!

I am shocked with the results. But I am happy for him!

I think both Adam & Kris are awesome :clapping: They both have a bright future ahead!!!

 

I'm just sad that it's all over!!!!!!!!!!!

 

So I was watching bikini girl and I said, if I was Kara I would grab a mic and get up on that stage. I am soo glad I said it out loud to the group I was watching the show with because it was only seconds before she appeared.

I think the contestants themselves have a say in who their dream to sing with would be and the show tries to make it happen.

Definitely the most entertaining finale that I can remember, I didn't want to miss a word when I am usually FF to the end.

Holy Crap! It was an amazing night! And I freely admit, that Kiss finally sounded the way I always wanted them to sound-- they need Adam!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :lol: All the performances (except for BEP and Megan Joy :bad were wonderful! I was impressed with Kara's voice too!

Congrats to him! He deserved. I think they both did. I am sure they will all have great careers! So much talent this season!

Craig, I'm SO VERY SORRY that the "pea's" ruined yours and Mark's (I'm assuming you would want to match ROLF) outfits for the wedding this weekend. Just put in a call to Adam's stylist - they can whip you up some birdcage shoulder pads that will be a HUGE hit!!!

I cried for Kris I was so very happy for him. I have loved him from the beginning and am really happy. I think he will benefit more and Adam will just soar on his own!

I'm so happy for Kris! I voted for him for a solid hour last night. I love, love, love Adam and think he can do no wrong, but I really wanted Kris to win and get his career going. He's such a unique performer and a sweetie. And I may be in the minority here, but i really liked his version of Kara's song. He did the song more justice than Adam. I couldn't understand the words or the meaning of the song when Adam sang it. Kris did it perfectly IMO, even if Kara herself didn't like it!

Kudos to Kara for upstaging Miss Bikini and her new, ahem, additions! :rofl:

No, John Deacon has retired. He no longer performs. That was Dr. Brian May (yes, Dr -- he holds his PhD in astrophysics) on guitar and Roger Taylor on drums. :wub: If Adam were British and Paul Rodgers were to leave Queen, I think Adam would have a job!! What a way to end the show too. We wanted Adam to sing Queen, but for him to sing Queen with Queen was beyond amazing. Poor Kris had to be up there -- completely out of his element -- but he hung in there. Definite highlight of the show and a moment to remember.

Adam is a rock star, not really an American Idol, kwim? Still, I was so thrilled he hung in there until the end. I would not have wanted to watch one second of this show without him!! I am really happy for Kris and know he is just blown away by this win.

Now what am I going to do for my Adam fix every week? I've already d/l every song I could of his. :lol: And A Change is Gonna Come is no less than amazing. Well worth the money.

Adam and Kiss were so fun too. All I could think of though was how hot those pyrotechnics are. When we saw Kiss and Aerosmith, we were front row. It was like being in an inferno when Kiss let loose their pyrotechnics. And Gene Simmons up close and personal and sweating like a pig is NOT a pretty sight! :lol:

*sigh* Such a great show! Kris may be the American Idol, and I'm happy for him, but Adam is a freakin' ROCK STAR GOD!! I agree wholeheartedly with Simon in that Adam, for me (I sound like Randy, lol), is by far the best contestant ever to be on American Idol.

This is how much of a dork I am too. My parents just left for Wisconsin this morning. I'm in a funk with a possible sinus infection. Lou is out of town. Sean is out of town. I think tonight after Brian's guitar lesson, I'm gonna come home and re-watch the Finale.

 

When bikini girl came on and started singing I went in the den and was checking email. I told DH she couldn't sing and he was only watching her because of her new enhancements. All of the sudden I was like "maybe she can sing." Come to find out that was when Kara walked out. I loved that Kara made that girl look like an idiot. DH said Kara had a "hot body" too. I think that was his favorite part of the show and he is a bigger AI fan than I am.

I saved it on my DVR too!!!! Really unbelievable.

Kathryn - I don't think the song stunk as bad as the first night and you are right. It did make more sense with Kris singing it! He does fit the Idol mold and will be a good representative of it.


OH YOU GUYS....WHEN Kris' (is that right?) wife came up there on the stage behind the judges and he just held on to her I was a PUDDLE!!! You can hold ANYTHING all together until the one's you love are there and then it's like it's OK to just collapse!

 

How about all the idols following him down behind the judges. They would not leave him alone. Especially that Jorge guy. I was like let Kris do his thing then y'all can pat him on the back.

 

The show was fantastic! I couldn't believe all of the singers they had on.

I never expected to see Steve Martin. I :wub: him!

Kris definitely fit the idol mold. Adam was great and already a seasoned professional, IMO.

It was AWESOME seeing Queen. When Kris & Adam starting to sing, I screamed to DH - I think Queen is going to be there!

As for Kara, she seems to be a much better singer than judge. And what a body! Kudos to her! I wonder how much money was bet and what charity it went to.

 

I was a Danny fan so I hope to hear something from him in the future. I'm glad that Kris won 'cuz I don't care for Adam! Sorry to all you Adam fans, but that's the way I feel. They'll both do fine though with their future careers. Still LOVE Carrie Underwood the best & Daughtry - they are the best from that show....

I totally agree Kim! That's exactly how I felt about it too. I still was a little sad for Adam because I did like him too. He is so talented! But I know he will do great things anyway.

Kim, I thought I had heard somewhere that Idol "owned" even the runner-up? I hope that isnt true for Adam. I hope that he doesnt have to go around singing more crap like "No Boundries" and can just be his fabulous self. I will have to see who David Archuletta album's on.

While I dont see myself buying his album he has been my favorite contestant on Idol EVER especially after Ring of Fire. I am sure there were a few heads that exploded that night after he molested the mike stand and I LOVE that. I am a little upset that he wont admit that he is gay though. Although, I can understand what I believe to be his point. No one is running around asking the other contestants if they are straight. But in my perfect world he would be like: I'm here, I'm queer, and I am a f&*king ROCK STAR!! :woohoo:

That's fine!! Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks! Clearly that's how the majority of viewers felt because they voted for Kris. It's absolutely OK for you to prefer other singers!!!

I know you'll hear from Danny. I think he has a huge following and he might have actually not been in the final because people "assumed" that he'd have the votes because he'd never been in the bottom three. So, don't fear - you haven't heard the last of him!!! :hug:

REALLY? While Queen is in my TOP 3 of all time - I'm not sure that Adam should be touring with some old band and doing their stuff. He needs to be free to create and rock his stuff!!! I would love to see a limited time tour or something - I would go in a heartbeat, but I don't want him to be stuck there and when all those old guys can no longer play - he needs to have done his own thing too! I think he will be open when he can be. I seriously doubt the creators of Idol want him running around, waving his freak flag, kwim? I don't know about Idol "owning" the runner up but I do know he does have to do the crappy tour. FWIW, I d/l Adam's single of "No Boundaries" and while it's still a sappy, crappy song, he did it beautifully. No surprise there. And he is a f**king ROCK STAR. :wub:

Also, I forgot to give Alison props for hanging in there with Cyndi Lauper. I thought it might be an odd combination, but it worked!!!

 

I am experiencing serious Adam withdrawals. :lol: I am so sad no more AI. You have no idea how much I looked forward to what he was going to sing each week. Ahhhh . . . what am I going to do? Aerosmith is touring but no TN tour dates. No Adam, no Aerosmith. I have nothing to look forward to!! :lol:

Oh wait, I am going to see Heart at the Tennessee Theater tonight!

 

MamaKim, you are not a dork, as I, too, have saved the AI finale and plan on watching it again and again! Even my dh and kids want it saved on the DVR for awhile!

I'm feeling those w/d's for Adam, too, Kim. Each week was such fun waiting to see him and how creative he was. I'm so curious as to what he'll be doing after the "tour." I'd love to see him in whatever/wherever his career takes him. I didn't d/l anything from him as I don't have an iPod or any such thing. Maybe I can just YouTube all his performances and save them in my favorites? LOL :blush:

Ok i just watched AI as we are like 2/3 days behind and WTF!! I certainly wasnt expecting Kris to win and neither was Kris lol. He did do a fantastic job and i am pleased he won, but still very disapointed for Adam he was brilliant. I think he will definetly be a super star. Good job to both of them.

Adam was fantastic with Kiss and danny did a great job with Mr Ritchie! I love a bit of Cindy Lauper(sp?!) too. Her and Allison worked well together! I have to say the song Kara co-wrote was crap lol. Just very cheesy and didnt seem to suit Kris voice even they admited it was in a higher key then he was used too. Black eye peas were great too. I was texting my friend whilst we watching it we are amazed at the difference between British finales and American finales! Your finale was 10000 x better than ours! Makes ours look absolutley pathetic! You americans certainly no how to do it better! x
