oh I would love for Adam to do Queen! Any Queen song would make me so happy.

 

Oh!! Re: Paula being more coherent this year.... Dh tells me that she recently admitted that she had been addicted to pain killers for her neck injury or whatever for 12 years or something until last November....that might be why she doesn't seem AS bad as previous years!

 

It would be fitting for Adam to re-visit some Queen since that is how we first heard him during auditions with Bohemian Rhapsody. I'd love to hear him do one of the great GnR epics too.

 

So, they are not doing "Idol Gives Back" this year? I was thinking of it this weekend and realized it hadn't been aired, but the finale is next week. (If this question was asked previously in the 30+ pages, I apologize.)

 

No, I saw a thing back before the season started that due to the state of the economy they were not going to do it this year. I will see if I can find the article I read.

AHHH! This website is CONFUSING. This is my first time here, which is too bad because my boys are already 15 months old! Just wanted to say that I'm so glad I read your post. I keep thinking today is Monday. I would have been so mad had I missed Idol. I'm rooting for Adam!

 

I agree Chrissy (well maybe not the peeing part). I absolutely love One by U2. It's definitely among my top 25 favorite songs of all time. I like the song for Kris but I'm not sure if it's a perfect choice for him. I don't think I know that choice for Danny.

 

I would kill to hear Adam do Wicked Game which is such a damn fine sexy song!! Ahhhh . . . . Still I'd rather be totally surprised. Maybe those picks are wrong. :lol:

 

Wicked Game is super sexy, not only is it sexy but a great song. I think if anyone could pull it off it could be him. Not sure if I just have no life at all but I am super excited for tonight!!!

Boo, I just read it is not Wicked Game. Guess I need to stop reading spoilers and just wait.

 

I did not like any of the "judges choice" performances. All were equally not entertaining to me.

Can't wait to see what they chose for themselves.

 

I'm getting sad that American Idol is almost over. I just love this show SO much!

I think Kris is going home this week. And, while we all know how talented/ gifted Adam is, I :wub: Danny Gokee. He just seems like a wonderul guy (that CAN sing!).

eta: what a class act! When the crowd keeps yelling after the first one, he points out the band. His comment after the second one is "Kris and Danny are awesome, I'm blessed to be in their company!" Sorry but that Aerosmith song didn't do it for me. And I was also disappointed with Adam's take on One. While I didn't think anyone did poorly tonight, I got to say that the song I enjoyed more than any other tonight was Kris Allen and Heartless.

Here's how I would rank the 6 songs...

(1) Kris Heartless (acoustic version of Kanye West song)
(2) Danny You Are So Beautiful
(3) Danny the Terrance Trent Darby song
(4) Kris Apologies (pretty straight forward but still a nice job)
(5) Adam One
(6) Adam Crying (not one of the better Aerosmith songs IMO)

That said, I think Adam is in the finals probably against Danny. But I hope it's Adam and Kris.

 

Adam of course was awesome!!

I also loved Kris's version of Heartless !!! I had just told my daughter "I like this version better than Kanye West" then Randy comes on and said exact same thing

Danny did great job also, but if I have to have my arm twisted behind my back to make decision who I would like to see in final two I would say Adam and Kris

I agree with my brother's top two although I think I'd put Adam's take on U2's One the third-best song on the night. Then I'd probably go with Danny's first song, Adam's second song and then Kris' version of Apologies last. But all six songs were good and it's going to be a tough voting night. I think Adam deserves to be in the final two because he's been by far the most consistent all year long but really don't know who will get there. Nobody really deserves to go home.

I totally agree except I can't say who I hope will be in the finals. I am sure Adam will be one even though I think he screamed both his songs tonight.

 

My rankings? (no surprise, lol)

1. Adam - Cryin'!!!!!!!!!!
2. Adam - One
3. Kris - Heartless
4. Danny - You Are So Beautiful
5. Kris - Apologize
6. Danny - Dance Little Sister
(both of the last two were horrible song choices and I would much rather have heard Adam sing Wicked Game rather than One)

Adam is amazingly brilliant and there is no comparison between him and either Danny or Kris. I enjoy both of them but Adam can mop the floor with them vocally. Outstanding. He did Steven Tyler and Bono both proud tonight.

And Adam gets extra points for #1 singing an Aerosmith song and #2 saying, "Steven Tyler is the man!" :wub:

 

I thought the judge choice for Danny was so horrible.

However the best of the night was Kris doing Kanye. He was amazing. Then I would have to go with Adam doing One. I thought the lady singing backup during Cryin was too much. Dannys You Are So Beautful was good too. (Did anyone notice Danny took off his wedding band).

Anyways. My vote for the top 2 are Adam and Kris, they are the 2 best IMO. I think Wicked Game was the back up song in case One could not get authorized.

These are my top two also. I think Kris is much more marketable than Danny. And he is cute as a button. I loved Heartless by him (and normally I hate that song).

I do not want to waste any votes and tonight am only voting for Adam. I have been trying all 3 numbers for him and cannot get through. I have been voting since the show ended and probably voted 10 times.

I did try once for Kris and got right in.

 

I have been calling all three lines and just now got through once. Oh boy!

 

My wife voted a ton of times for Danny (except the first vote she made tonight when I accidentally gave her the phone # for Adam instead of Danny )

 

I had been trying to vote for Kris and only got through 3Xs. I also tried for Danny but get no where and now for both all I get is "all circuits are busy please try again later" or just dead air

 

Darlene voted for Danny too. I guess Danny's German heritage (I'm assuming with a last name like Cokey and being from Milwaukee that's he German) appeals to the Nettemeier girls I guess.

Loved Danny and Kris tonight. They were awesome. Adam is ok..but just not my favorite. I thought he messed up the Aerosmith song..and was sad the judges liked it.

I have been thinking about this. I don't hear screeching. I hear an amazing voice, always on pitch, with an amazing range. But then think about artists I love vocally: Axl Rose, Steven Tyler (the Demon of Screamin'), Sebastian Bach, Robert Plant and it all makes sense that I would love Adam too. He definitely has the chops to hang in their league. So I think it all comes down to a matter of taste.

Totally agree with this assessment. I think Adam is a great singer and has had some fabulous performances, but there is something about his screeching and tongue-action that eeks me out. I think he's too over the top.

Hands down, Kris' version of Heartless was the best performance of the evening. He really is very creative and talented. But, I really like singer-songwriter types.
