American Idol 2009

Good night! I liked it!

I love Led Zep and Adam did it justice so that was all good!

Alison was better in her duet but again, not a huge Janis fan.

I thought Kris did great. And I liked both him and Danny in their duet.

Danny's final note made me cringe, literally. I saw my DH cringe too. :lol:

And we both said at the same time that Kara is an idiot. :lol:

Did you love that Ryan was still trying to out Simon's smoking habit? That rat bas*ard Seacrest. <_<

 

Ryan annoys the piss out of me. I now the second that they go to commercial Simon runs out the door and smoke.

You know what annoyed me the most about Dannys song (besides that last note). He was singing with a country twang when he said "true". He was just way too many sounds for me.

 

Awesome show! I was not disappointed in the least. I love ROCK! Anyway.....LOVED Adam doing Zeppelin. PERFECT. I thought Kris was very good doing the Beatles. I didn't agree with the judges at all on that critique. Good song, good vocals imo. Danny was good. Dream On is very difficult to do and I thought he did well, except at the end. Allison was alright, same sound as always.

I liked the duets. Adam and Allison were great together. Kris and Danny did better together than their solo's during Renegade. I must say the BAND was amazing tonight. I don't think they've ever sounded better. Did I say "I LOVE rock" yet??? :yahoo:

 

I actually don't think Kara is an idiot. I think musically her instincts are almost as good as Simon's. But she does have foot in mouth disease! :lol:

I missed that! Maybe that pouffy 80s hairdo had her brain twisted.

 

Boy did they set the bar high putting Adam first!!! :woo: Jim's comment was "that was better than the original"! He loved it too!! Rare that we get to see the show together! I thought I was going to be disappointed that he didn't do Queen or GnR, but :bow2: That was awesome!!! I voted for about 40 min. at the end. Was still dialing when it went busy on me - knew voting was over!

I didn't think Kris was that bad!! He always looks hot, so he's got that going for him.

I really wasn't THAT familiar with Allison's song, so to me - I thought she killed it! She followed Slash's suggestion, so it's HIS bad that they didn't like the song choice. I thought she looked the best she has. Loved that she went with Adam to have her hair done!!!!

Danny looked cute, too. That last note was :unknw: I thought for bringing them SO far out of their zone, they did pretty well.

I cannot wait till they sing 2 each!!! I actually thought the boys duet was really good. I love Styx and thought it was great! Their voices really blended well. Allison and Danny brought the house down!!! She had to step it up because he could overshadow her VERY easily out there!!!!

My Brian was watching with me last night and after Adam sang he said, "Wow, he's good. He sounded like a cross between Robert Plant and Axl Rose." High praise coming from my 14 year old Led Zep fanatic.

 

There are so many songs I would love to hear Adam sing. I think hearing him do Wicked Game by Chris Issac would be super sexy.

 

I like Kara too. Sometimes she'll make a gaffe but she does say some good stuff too. And I think she's brought mostly the best out of Paula this year. Maybe Paula realized she has to take it more serious this year because she's sounded more coherent this season at times.

 

Ohh, Daughtry tonight too!

 

How cool is Slash? Loved the guitar tonight!! And I cannot WAIT for his solo CD!! I also meant to mention last night how happy I was to see Keri Kelli (LA Guns, Alice Cooper, Ratt) playing guitar with Slash in the band. Awesome!

Um, are we supposed to believe Paula was actually singing?

 

Paula's performance was full of CHEESE. Was she even singing that song? Blah. Didn't like it one bit.

Anxious for Daughtry!

 

Paula was interesting. I'm not into that style of music (computer enhanced/played with singing) she still has the moves and looks great. She is a very trusting. I can't believe she threw herself off that stage.

 

Paula was cracking me up. She is still full of cheese in her performance. Gotta love her though. Think of her old videos. Same thing.

I thought Gwen Steffani was going to pass out. She sounded like she was out of breathe the second she went down those stairs.

 

I love No Doubt and Gwen Stefani! Have I ever mentioned that I'd like to BE Gwen Stefani?

 

No way was Paula singing. That "performance" was a dance performance just like the video they played when she released her song a while back.

No Doubt was horrible. ICK

 

I'm officially scared. :unsure: But no matter what happens, it's all good, right?

 

I loved Kris' shock, crying and laughing at the same time. WOW his dream is coming true. Makes me wonder if the judges already knew he was safe with the comment Simon made earlier about confidence.

 

Loved Daughtry!!! Definitely getting his new CD. I saw him last summer in concert he was great!!

 

Yep. So good to see Chris on the AI stage again. Loved his comment about the Idol upset his year when he was voted off!! For about 30 seconds! :rofl: Daughtry will sell me a CD too.

 

Ok, I just totally balled my eyes out. :cry: :cry: :cry:

 

BOOO, not the top 3 I wanted. This is the first night I have really been sad.

OK, I am crying (for one) and happy (for two) all at the same time. I wish it had gone the other way on those last two.

 

I have the tv on... I saw No Doubt (love them!), saw Slash, Daughtery... all good. How did I miss Paula? I must have been FBing because I did not see her!! Sounds like I didn't miss much!! Did they rank the top 4 or just announce who was going home?

no rankings. They said it was in no special order. Kris was called safe 1st then Adam leaving Danny and Allison at the end.

Loved Daughtry! Missed most of Paula's performance.

I like the top 3. I did cry for her though. She is so cute and so young!! I had thought it would be her because she hasn't always gotten the popular vote. I was hoping it would be an "upset" and Adam would go home .

 

Paula can still dance, got to give her credit for that.

Kim, you're right Gwen is awesome! I love to listen to her/No Doubt while I'm on the treadmill.

I love Gwen and No Doubt too but thought her performance was a bit off. Had to go make myself some popcorn half way through.

I wish the bottom two had gone the other way too. Maybe Allison should have waited a couple years to try out. Can you imagine how great and polished she'll be in a couple years? I thought her send off performance was great! Much better than last night (which I thought was good too)

 

I'm surprised Gwen Stefani did that song. She's probably in her upper 30's now? I don't think she's just a girl anymore. But I still like her style and songs.

What kind of music will Slash do? All instrumental? Does he sing?

Next week two songs each, one judges' choice and one of their own choice. If Adam doesn't win at this point, American Idol will be laughed off the air IMO.
