I meant to address this earlier. Adam totally stuck to the Rat Pack theme. Sammy Davis Jr (among many other artists, most notably Nina Simone, whose version I love) recorded Feeling Good. So definitely a Rat Pack song, although not one you would typically think of as such.

I downloaded Adams song and LOVED it!!!! That ending was the BOMB DOG!!! How could anyone not go WILD over him. This is the only Idol that I have been excited about the next week.

I also downloaded Kris and he was excellant as well. I enjoyed when the song went up tempo.

I just drove my daughter 2 hours each way to my Aunt's for a visit and listened to Adam on my ipod the WHOLE TIME.
Does that count as infidelity??? :FIFblush:

So I'm missing it. Is he gay?    That would be SOOO sad because then I REALLY don't have a chance. As is, if he's really 27, DH might die unexpectedy, I could lose 30...40 lbs... and have a tummy tuck...and he might decide he likes older farm mama's with 4 kids.DON'T LAUGH! If you click on that You Tube video I guess he announced it at an event where he was the chairperson for the Brain Cancer walk. It was pretty sad to watch.

I AM LOVING TONIGHTS SHOW! Adam was good. Only thing that could have made it sound better imo was if he could have gotten a bit deeper at a few points in the song. I love Led Zeppelin.

Now I just heard that Allison is going to sing "Cry baby". Oh I hope she really gets into it

 

ADAM rocks the freakin' house!!!! NO ONE can touch him!! To do Led Zep and do it so well is a feat of sheer talent. Awesome!

Allison did well but not fantastic. Joplin suits her, though. Overall a solid performance.
Kris and Danny together on Renegade were pretty good. I liked their voices together.
Kris on Come Together was tough for me because I LOVE Aerosmith's version (and of course the original) so it was hard because it just didn't measure up. But it wasn't awful.
Danny started out good on Dream On but OUCH! that last note. Dream On is a tough song to sing which makes me appreciate the Demon of Screamin' even more (if that's possible).
Adam and Allison on Slow Ride were terrific! Really entertaining!! Great job!

SLASH was an awesome mentor. He did a great job! I'll say it again (and read his book if you haven't) he has such an adorable family.

 

Allison was great. Loved her hair. I don't know what Randy was thinking when he said "I didn't love this it was not that great for me" This was the perfect artist for her to sing. I kind of liked her better than Adam.

AND good for her for sticking up for herself

Did anyone see how Danny was shocked that Simon thought he sounded better than Kris? I thought they both had bad a good moments but they did sound really good together. Danny was a bit blank faced and not into it as much as Kris. I missed the song not having the the line "the jig is up......."

Did I mention that I am LOVING this nights music.

Kris did really well and did make the song his. I liked him tonight. Not the best of the night but he does deserve to be here this week.

Oh Kim I was so scared when I heard he was doing that song. I thought ick at the beginning then it sounded better at the middle with a few icks in there. The end note/scream sound good at first and then went bad imo. It was more better that it was bad.

Kara needs to go. Don't like hearing her opinion or seeing her.

Adam and Allison were GREAT together!

Allison is getting my vote tonight.

 

The show started out on such a high note with Adam doing Zeppelin and there was just no way (as Simon mentioned) it was going to be topped. And it wasn't. So from that sense the rest of the night was a little disappointing to me. I do think it was Adam's best performance of the season and a song he should do again the final night when he gets to pick one song to sing for himself. Of couse he needs to get there - my wife is calling for Danny nonstop so you Adam-ers better call for him...

 

I thought Adam was great.

I thought Allison should have picked a different Joplin song.

I thought the two of them together were good.

I liked Kris and Danny together, too.

I liked Kris doing Come Together.

Danny wasn't great, he had some good places and some bad places.

I'm not sure who will go home this week, but I'm leaning toward Allison. She just has not always been a fan favorite.

And I really liked Slash as the mentor.

 

If tonight was the first night I ever watched American Idol I would not be voting for Danny. Kris did his best out of his element and was good.

Adam was awesome! Allison did ok in her solo, but much better in her duet.


I knew the Allison/Adam duet would be great they did awesome together.

For Danny? Oh wow. He sort of was not good. He was okay but did not do the song justice. You are right. Adam set the bar so high everyone else paled in comparison and the rest was just okay (Allison, Kris) if not downright disappointing (Danny).

FTR, I have not been able to get through for Adam once yet.

 

Danny to me tonight was like a kid singing to Rock Band. He was not good at all for me. And I did not think him and Kris had very good chemistry singing together.

Now Allison and Adam rocked the house. That was the Bomb Diggity!!! But ADAM!!! Wow he broke out with that Zepplin and I think I still had some pee in my pants. He is Fantastical!!!

Allison was good, but I wish she would have sang SOmebody to Love by Jefferson Airplane.


Kris is just adorable to me and I would love for him to rock it in the top 3 with Allison and Adam.

DO NOT STOP VOTING FOR ADAM TONIGHT!!!!!!!

 

I just voted for the first time EVER! All votes for Adam... I couldn't live with myself if he got voted off while I sat on my a** doing nothing! I haven't even heard the whole song yet as I was out with DH for our anniversary... I told him I needed to get home to watch AI... I'll make it up to him later

Your DH will understand. I have been voting for 1 hour now. Our men need to take one for the team tonight, it is very stressful.

BTW, did anyone catch yet another Kara gaffe tonight? She told Danny she didn't see him on this type of song, she sees him as doing more early Aerosmith like Cryin' or Crazy. Hello, those are 90's songs. Dream On was recorded in 1973. :lol: Dream On is as early as you can get with Aerosmith.

Adam WAS great tonight. I'm just floored he hasn't been "discovered" before AI. I just love his personality too. I told DH he was all rocker-like, hard-core, then when the song ended, he just becomes this sweet, kind-of sheepish guy. So endearing.

I also really liked Allison, but agree another Janice Joplin song would have been better. No matter, her duet with Adam was awesome! I still really like Kris, even though this type of music doesn't suit him as much. Danny....blech...

 

I heard that, Devon aked how stupid she was LOL.

 

OT, but did anyone thing Paula was about to have a "wardrobe malfunction" every time she leaned across the judges table??? :laughing:

 

I can't wait to see Paula perform tomorrow.

I can't wait for tonights show!!! I don't usually check in here until after I've seen it cuz I don't want to be biased by anything anyone says here, but I couldn't wait. I'm dying for 'rock' night and now I hear that Kris and Danny are singing Renegade by my beloved STYX :yahoo: . I'm jumping in my seat! :Clap:

 

I liked the show. I thought Adam was amazing. The thing I really loved about his performance is he did the song the way it was meant to be done but he has such an incredible, original voice that it became his version. That's the mark of a star. He didn't need to gimmick up the song because it's a great song on its own. That performance and Tracks of My Tears are easily my two favorite songs of the year.

I agree with the others - Allison's song choice wasn't great. Her vocals were fine but it's kind of like when you go to a concert and the band does just a so-so song. You applaud politely but wait for the hits to be sung. Plus with her, she's still not young enough I don't think to front a rock concert. However her duet with Adam shows her star potential. Put her with someone else and it's impressive.

Kris and Danny's vocals together were nice. Separately they weren't good. Kris in particular was bad on that song by himself.

Kris on the Beatles song wasn't awful. I kind of liked it. I thought he gave a good effort in a genre he's not comfortable with.

Danny was a mess. He started off okay and gradually got worse and worse (and maybe out of breath?). That last note was like a horror movie scream like Simon said or maybe someone scratching their nails on a chalkboard.
