We are a couple teenagers. They used to put the top downloaded AI songs on there but then they thought that showed who was getting the most votes so they stopped. I would be interested to find out which contestant gets the most downloads though and if this year is up. I have to agree that this group is the most talented and unique than they have ever had.

I agree, they are the most talented of the crop!!!

Yep, 46 year old teenager here! I will say every single one of Adam's d/l has been fantastic, even ten times better than the performance. I've got one Anoop and one Megan d/l too along wtih Kris from this week. All sound really great. Well worth the money.

I have to get on that and start d/l ing some! Love that you are a teenager at heart!

This is the MOST I have EVER looked forward to Idol!!

David Cook and Chris Daughtry were very close and I do buy their music, haven't d/l'd Adam yet. Waiting to see if I get a new player! (or maybe I forget from year to year!)

Rat Pack music tonight--- makes me really wonder who is going to sing what, especially our beloved Adam!

I think Alison will have a tough time this week given the song selections.

That is entirely possible, but she can "make it her own"

Supposedly Paula Abdul said on a radio interview yesterday that Jamie Foxx will be the mentor this week. Hope he doesn't say anything mean about Matt's gums.

(and this is Mark writing on Craig's computer - sorry for the confusion)

Well ITunes messed up and revealed the top American Idol downloads for the year. Here is a http://mjsbigblog.com/the-itunes-popularit...rs-are-back.htm article showing.

I was just coming to post this Chrissy!! Great minds, I tell ya!!!

Can't wait to see what happens! I was a bit disappointed to hear what Jamie Foxx did to Miley Cyrus recently, but overall LOVE HIM!!!

    Do not like Jamie Foxx.

I did not like what Kris did with that song. I did not really like the way it sped up near the end for a second then went back to slow. I agree with Simon "It was good" but not great.

I think Simon has made up his mind about who will be in the final and he does not think one will be Allison.

I think Alison sounded beautiful tonight.

Matt was great tonight. I like the advice that Jamie gave him about holding the note. I agree with Kara that he was not that emotionally connected with the song. He was good though. This is his thing.

Danny really got into it tonight. This is his thing also. He was great. That heart thing he did with his hands was sweet. I bet a lot of his younger fans loved that.

HAVE TO SAY I thought that commercial with the woman on the escalator saying to a man "I think your the father of one of my kids" was so funny. The guy said "Ohh ahh Cancun summer of 99?" and she says "HUH?" End up she was is daughters teacher.

    Just waiting on Adam now.

Adam was a show tonight all by himself. Amazing. I totally agree with Randy though that it was more of a theatre show than an American Idol contest.

MY DVR CUT OFF AGAIN and I missed the comments from All the other judges AHHHHHHH!!!!

Totally agree. How do you pick someone who was the worst of the evening? I can't. I liked them all and all deserve to sing another week. Probably will go to a popularity contest (so is Allison in trouble?) Looking it up online, only one of the songs was written in the last 45 years (Adam's amazing rendition of Feeling Good which was a '65 song written by Newley and Briscoe). Danny's version of Come Rain or Come Shine (another cool song) came out in 1946 and was written by Arlen and Mercer (it was probably Harold Arlen's second-best song about rain - he also wrote Over the Rainbow). The others are even older. My Funny Valentine was a Rodgers and Hart song from 1937 (Matt), The Way You Look Tonight originally came out in 1936 (I thought Kris did Jerome Kern proud with it) and then you can go back 80 years to 1926 to the Gershwins to first hear Someone to Watch Over Me (and again, it would be unfortunate to see Allison go home after her great rendition of that song tonight).

I don't know if I've ever seen an Idol with as many quality songs sung from top to bottom as tonight's show. Oh, and I agree with Cheryl that the one escalator commercial for Minute Maid was pretty funny although I disagree with her comment on Jamie Foxx. Regardless of personal opinions of him, I thought he added a lot to the show tonight.

Adam is just on an entirely different plane/universe than anyone else in this competition. *sigh* That voice! And Maureen, before you say he screeches, lol, at least he can screech on key!! ;) Yowza!! Ain't no one like him.

I totally loved everyone tonight but if I had to send one home it would be Matt Giraud. He sounded off key during part of that and I really expected better of him. But overall, great show.

    Off to Dial Adam . . .

I did not care for Matt tonight.

Until last two performers it was almost like Simon playing opposite night lol I was shocked he thought Matt was brilliant I was thinking blech and I usually agree with Simon.

Paula has quite the wardrobe collection

Enjoyed the rest(Kris, Allison, Dann,Adam). Adam's performance definitely more like watching broadway musical than conert this week, but as usual vocally amazing. :)

What did Simon say to Adam?? Mine cut off too. I got to the part where he said something about cows mooing.

Sorry I love Adam, still think Danny sounds like Taylor Hicks. I thought Allison was great tonight and I also really loved Kris too. I have just never been into Matt.

I honestly watch the show now waiting for Adam.

Simon loved Adam. He said he was the only one who he felt was in it to win every week, but then he changed his mind and said three of them were that way (Adam, Danny and Kris?).

I agree with the others - I thought all five did great. Matt maybe was my least favorite but I thought he was very good at times too. I didn't like Danny right away but liked him when he went up-tempo the 2nd half. Adam was great but I felt like he cheated and didn't do a Rat Pack song and the others did. Although his suit was very Rat Packian.

Tough to pick my favorite. I still think I like Allison the best so I'll put her slightly ahead of Adam and Kris, with Danny and Matt 4th and 5th. I think Allison or Matt will go home. Probably Matt.

Love waiting and watching Adam!!! DAMN his voice at the beginning and then at the end had this PURE sound that was phenomenal!

For me.... GOKEY was GREAT!!! :clapping: I loved Kris and Allison as great too. I thought Matt did really well (if I listen and don't stare at him, I like him more).

Jamie Foxx is a triple threat (quadruple?) and really did actually give some advice worth taking!!

    HOT SHOW!

Great night! Getting difficult to narrow things down now. I think Matt might have been the one I wasn't as crazy about. Adam was good, very theatrical. Danny, started off slow and then sped up! Great ending! Allison has a great voice! Not sure if she gets the popular vote though. :( Kris was great too. It's amazing how different they all are too!

I admit, I voted for Kris tonight only. I am worried he will be sent home because Adam gets a TON of votes and he doesn't need my silly 50 votes. ;)

Early on in the competition Ryan would comment that they pick names out of a hat when it comes to performance order. I don't hear him say that anymore. Although I fly though in warp speed with Tivo.

I think its very much strategic on the part of the show...its called....ratings! If you tune in for the whole show...in theory you watch all the commercials (well...i don't...heart ya Tivo) Love him or not...people are interested to see what Adam will do next....and will stay tuned into the show to see him.

Hot, hot show tonight! Loved it :)

    Alright, get your tomatoes ready!

Could Adam have made more elaborate entrance? And when he stuck out his tongue hitting that note I thought I was going to hurl!
Once again, Broadway is the place for him. I think cutting a CD would limit him. As Randy would say, I give him props for being so bold.
I am a big fan of Queen and Freddie Mercury but just can't bring myself to compare Adam to Freddie.

I was surprised at how well everyone did.

My prediction is that Matt will be going home. I would be bummed if Kris went home. I don't think he'll win it all but don't want to see him leave. just yet.

I was pleasantly surprised by Jamie Foxx. I haven't seen the movie Ray and now want to.

Hopefully next week is the week that the judge's pick the songs.

No tomatoes here, Julie. I think you're a little nuts but hey -- it's all good. ;) Freddie Mercury happens to be my all time #1 favorite vocalist ever and I have no problems comparing Adam to someone as stellar as my beloved Freddie. He's a little Freddie, a little Axl, a little Steven, a little Sebastian with a healthy dose of crooner thrown in for good measure. ;)

But you have to see Ray!! Jamie Foxx was incredible in it!!! Excellent movie and great protrayal of Ray Charles.

Yeah, I am not a fan of his tongue!!! I am a fan of HIM, but not his tongue!!! Notice they go to a long shot quickly after he gets going on the 5 min. high note (which was AMAZING).

OH!! I loved that Jamie Foxx told Kris - if this doesn't work out, call me and we'll get together and do something!! :clapping: That was AWESOME (said in my best "wubb girls" impression - sorry to those with older kids that won't remotely 'get' that reference.)

I am thinking it will be Matt or Allison!

Julie, I noticed the tongue thing, too. Eww. :bad:

I thought everyone did a great job last night. Really hard pressed to pick my least favorite. I didn't know Adam's song at all, loved that snazzy suit! Cross between Saturday Night Fever and Rat Pack.

If I had to pick, I think either Matt or Alison will go home tonight. Not based on performance, but on how popular they have been.

And I saw that Minute Maid ad the night before, too. I thought it was soooo funny.

ETA: I loved Jamie Foxx, too!!!

I will say we seem to have mouth issues this season. Between Adam's overly large tongue, Kris's singing crooked out of the side of his mouth, lol, and Allison's bottom braces which cause that slight lisp, it seems almost everyone has some sort of mouth issue!!
