Was "said" person on drugs tonight???? They had a crazy reaction to being eliminated! I have to admit, though, I did think that person was interesting....

It definitely seemed like it! Very strange...

Okay, without giving away who lost tonight (or my reaction to that choice), I just need to ask one question about the guest performers Lady GaGa (do I have their name right?) To quote Simon from earlier in the season, 'What the hell was that?' Very, very strange - from the piano that looked like an ice cube to the maniacal violinist to the dance moves to the zippered eye?

Next week the last eight sing songs from the year they were born so that's always interesting. We're talking songs from the 1980s and 90s.

BIZARRE!!!! The zippered eye sealed the deal. I did like the SHOW they put on. Didn't know the music! :(

OMG I love Lady GAGA. She is total fance club Diva though. Not your everday easy listening. That song is great but not so good sung live. Try listening to it on Itunes.

And does everyone just caaa like a bird???

Uh...ONLY ELLEN Degeneres!! What is UP with that?! :nea: Not something to be duplicated!!!

    SO GREAT TO SEE HIM!!!!

I'm actually relieved that Megan is gone. I was getting a little tired of her sound. I would be fine if it was parts of her songs but it was a bit too much for me. She'll have a high profile career of some sort! I was all teary for her in SPITE of thinking it was fine she was going home. That she said she's going home to her baby! SO SWEET!!!

forgot to add my thoughts on gaga girl ICK! Show was interesting. Guy dancing at the start was interesting but the song was awful. Strange.I wonder how some of these new artists get their starts. If she and the guy that sang last week could get a career going in music why is AI needed.

See actually if you're talking about Kanye West and Heartless two weeks ago (last week was Smokey Robinson and Stevie Wonder so you can't be talking about them), I really liked that song. And he has some other songs that are really cool to me. Very contemporary but more than simple rap. I didn't think his voice was outstanding but I imagine he's dynamic in concert.

And about the departed Idol's reactions tonight, I wonder if said contestant and Paula go to the same pharmacist?

Good lord, I'm pretty pleased with this week's cast-off. I've been dying for that for the last three weeks. And I think she dug her own grave when she told Simon she "didn't care". Good for him for saying it..."Well, since you don't care, neither do we." Said it all.

Kris is starting to grow on me, really...I think Scott or Anoop is next to go...after that, I'm happy with whoever wins because they are ALL so talented.

Although...Matt needs to quit pouting like a little girl anytime they don't like his performance or he is put in the bottom 3. Sometimes, you just deserve to be there. You didn't see Allison, considerably younger than him, freaking out about being in the bottom 3 (multiple times, might I add, and I don't think she deserved to be there). Man up, dude.

And that Lady GaGa thing scared me. I mean, really. What is music coming to these days?

The fact that Megan seemed to go gaga more than anyone else at Lady Gaga told me all I need to know about her (in addition to the fact that she's weird and has very little musical ability). I kind of feel sorry for anyone shelling out money to see the AI tour this summer to have to listen and watch her again but maybe if they choreograph her and keep her improvs to a limit she'll be easier to watch and listen to?

I was feeling soooo old watching that Lady Gaga crap. Sorry, it was just odd. My 4 year old son (who fell asleep at 5 yesterday so was back up) didn't like her either. He kept asking me to shut it off.

I am happy with who went home. I was shocked that Allison was in the bottom 3. I loved watching them mimick each other in the beginning, they really seem to have built up some friendships there already.

Looking forward to next week with the songs from their birth years.

I fully blame the judges for that. Megan didn't do well on the week that she performed with the group of 12 to try to make it in to the top 12. She didn't even do "ok". Yet the judges brought her back for the wild card. She wasn't that great then either, but the judges decided to put her into the top 13. She was never that good, the audience never really took to her, yet the judges kept trying to force her down our throats. I blame them, and think Simon was a jerk for saying "We don't care either". Um, obviously you did, because you put her in the top 13 when there were better and more deserving performers. If you are going to put someone through based on their looks, deal with the consequences.

Erica! You get down with your bad self! I thought it was jerky too. He usually appreciates the contestants that stand up to him, so he's contradicting himself! He SO TOTALLY put her through (with Kara) because she's beautiful! There were a few people that didn't even get to the TOP 36 that were more talented than some of them!

But the thing is, Megan was not put through only on her looks. She was put through because she was unique and she had the look. Someone is going to scoop her up. Given the right song, sung in the right key, she can do well. But finding her niche is tough and the audience much too broad on a show like AI. When she sang Walkin' After Midnight, she truly did shine. That jazzy flair is just not amenable to every song out there though and she picked horrible songs overall. However, she gets props for originality! I thought what Simon said to her was great. But then again, I heart Simon.

Megan imo lacks respect and class because she lacks maturity. Even though she may be a parent and 23 years old she lacks maturity at least in these situations.

I agree with what Craig said "maybe if they choreograph her and keep her improvs to a limit she'll be easier to watch and listen to?" she needs more training.

Kanye West was horrible. IMO, he was even worse than Lady Gaga because the dude cannot sing. At all. And he's a wise a$$ to boot!

I think we missed an inside joke with Megan's cawing. From the reaction of the other contestants, it was not unexpected. Chrissy, you are right about there being a niche out there for her. If Adele and Duffy can have lucrative careers, so can she.

It was definitely an inside joke. When she was hugging someone, she said "don't forget to caw." Maybe it was a joke from her Rocking Robin song. Whatever it was, it was WEIRD!

I can see Total Eclipse of the Heart, Seperate Ways by Journey would be a GREAT one. Gloria by Laura Branigan, China Girl, Shes A Beauty, Faithfully.

But the one I am routing for is True, Spandau Ballet.

That whole list of crappy 80's music is hysterical. I must admit to having 90% of it on my iPod though! ;)

How do they determine what "1983" songs are on the list? Billboard Top 100 of the year? Any song from 1983? If so, there may be a wider range and better song choices available (I hope!).

Poking around the Net, I found this rumored song list for tonight. Take it with a grain of salt - sometimes these lists are spot on and sometimes they're all wrong.

    Kris - Heaven
Lil - Let’s Hear It For the Boy
    Adam - Edge of Seventeen
    Scott - You’re the Inspiration
    Anoop - Who’s Johnny
    Matt - Part Time Lover
    Allison - Tears in Heaven
Danny - Crazy Little Thing Called Love

However if true, we do get some Queen just not from Adam. I'm not sure which version of Heaven that is (maybe the Bryan Adams one?). Lil's choice would set her up for disaster IMO. I LOVE Adam's song but it doesn't lead well to the falsetto. I will be asleep again during Scott's song. I'm not sure I know the Anoop song. Bad song choice for Matt. Allison - finally a ballad but all I can think is DAMN she's young.

Hmm, could be an interesting night. Adam singing Stevie Nicks. I'm willing to give it a shot! Yeah, Scott, not so much. Guess we'll have to wait and see if the list is correct!

Whos Johnny is the theme song from Short Circuit LOL, that is way too funny. The only one I am looking forward to is Adam. If that is really the list of songs.
