American Idol 2009

I'm a big Allison fan too. She's still raw but her long-term potential is as good as any contestant on the show, maybe even better, if she can continue to improve. I would like to see a ballad from her, to see what she can do along those lines. Still I think the judges were a little overboard on her praise tonight. It's obvious they don't want her in the bottom three again this week, so that's why she got the final spot and the extra praise.

My favorite tonight was Adam obviously followed by Allison and Matt. I liked Kris too - he is totally Drake from Drake and Josh (or maybe it's Josh - get those two confused all the time). I predicted last week Adam would do Smokey but I thought he would rock out Tears of a Clown. He was very smart to go unplugged with Tracks of My Tears instead.

Adam is marketable but I can't tell if he wants to be the next Axel Rose, Elton John or Boy George. I think Allison has the best future of anyone on the show, if she plays her cards right. Her potential is as big as Carrie Underwood, Chris Daughtery or Kelly Clarkson. She's not as polished yet as those three were when they were on AI.

Mark, I think Allison has huge potential. Huge. I can honestly see her winning this whole thing. Matt is the quiet contender but in all the hoopla of ADAM and Allison last night, I neglected to mention how much I enjoyed his performance as well.

You nailed Adam. Funny thing is he has the potential to be all three! As I said before, he's too good for this show. But I sure enjoy what he brings each week!

 

Wow, I am a total dork, but I am downloading Adam for the second straight week. And both weeks, he sang songs I did not know much before. (Until I watched him sing them over and over and .....)

Adam is a stud!!!! He is by far the one to beat this season, IMHO. I also really like Alison, too, but Adam is my fav!!! Looking forward to tonight's performances!

I must share my dream with you all. After last week's performance by Adam (which I also loved and downloaded from iTunes -- fantastic!), I dreamed I was back at my grandmother's farm house, which I have not been in since I was 7. I have never been a fan of Adam so this is hard for me to admit. He did a GREAT job last night.

Is anyone else bothered by the antics of Paula & Simon? I feel so bad for the contestant standing on stage waiting for their craziness to end so they can hear what they have to say.

that little thing they did last night was immature and unprofessional. I felt bad for Allison especially because not only were they rushed for what they could say due to time limit but with Simon coloring on Paula's face (and her allowing it) and it almost becoming the "topic" of the moment was unfair. She is 16 and trying her best to show maturity (and doing well with it) and they are acting like my 8 year olds.

 

Nah, none of that bothers me. It's part of the show and I think most of the contestants know how it is between them. I adore Simon, though, so he can do no wrong!!

Is there honestly anyone left who cannot see Adam's brilliance after last night's performance? What I saw last night in him was what I have seen all season in him. He is a star!

 

BTW, I loved Smokey's story behind "Tracks of My Tears." Such a great song!

Yeah, that bugged me. I was kinda like "Hey, she just did an amazing job. Stop hogging the spotlight and give her her moment."

I am with you right now on Megan!! :nea: I knew SOMEONE would be bugged by Kara with me!! I think that what the 4 person format is doing for me is that they are giving criticism and then it just keeps going and going. Before it would be ok, but now it's like OK - let me kick you ONE more time! (That's the format, not Kara).

Allison blew me away more last night. Here braces or whatever she's got going in her bottom teeth are giving her a slight speech impediment. She's going to be a SUPERSTAR!! I have a really hard time believing she's 16 every time she sings. I think it's her hair and her voice.

Adam - well, Kim you said it best. He's too good for this competition! It's great that he's now noticed and going to have a great career!!

I did not think Lil was THAT BAD last night. Just not as good as she SHOULD have been given the material! I liked her performance! I still like her.

Kris was good till I got to Adam, Danny and Allison. (He's still :wub: adorable)

Matt was awesome. Bad luck to go first, but he really kicked the show off right!!!

Ok, My BOTTOM 3 - Megan, Scott and :cry: Kris - I would like to see Scott go home first!

 

Oh, I spent a large amt. of time voting for Allison, Adam (not as much because I knew you guys had me covered and he was busy a lot!) and Matt!!!

 

Ok couldnt wait for tonight so went and watched his preformance on You-tube. HE was FANTASTIC!! How the hell is this guy not been signed already?!! Cant wait to see everyone else tonight x

LOVED Adam and liked Allison and Anoop... beyond those 3 I'm really not excited about any of the others..

I still love Matt and I agree with most of you about the top 4 and the bottom 3. I guess I don't have anything intelligent to add so I'll head back to the other forums now

 

I LOVED Adam last night! I practically gave him a standing ovation myself :clapping: . He cleaned up so nicely and sang that song to perfection. #1 for me last night. I also like Matt, Kris, and Allison. The worst was Megan and the others were just okay. You know if Megan had some training she'd probably do very well. Her voice isn't bad; she doesn't know what to do with it.

Does anyone else get as emotional as I do watching the contestant's reel at the end and seeing them leave? At this point, I get teary no matter if I think it is the right person or not because I know this is their dream. I'm such a sap!

I think Simon was very nice tonight not leading him on and just making the decision. He knew it was his time to go even before he sang.

I agree, it was time for him to go. I really liked that guy (not necessarily his singing, but his attitude is AWESOME!)

Stevie Wonder has so much talent and is such a legend that I think we can all allow him to sing what he wants in the middle of his songs. His medley tonight was the highlight of the show and probably the highlight of the season.

 

Stevie is a huge Obama supporter, he was just giving a shout out.

Can I just say those group performances are horrible!!!!!

Michael was pointing at Matt when Ryan asked the audience if there was someone in the bottom 3 that shouldn't be there. I really can't believe Matt was in the bottom 3!! I think one of the right people went home tonight, I was hoping to see Megan go home first though. Gotta go...ER is coming on!

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!?!?!?!?!?!? MATT IN THE BOTTOM THREE?! It's like Allison being in the bottom last week!!!

Either Michael or Scott, could have gone either way and it's the same. Just a matter of time! I want the top to GET to the top though.

What's with the Old Guy, Young Girl Duets? A little creepy!? Loved Smokey, but Joss looked like she was channeling someone's Woodstock days. (Dazed and confused and a little out of it - it was just all right for me dawg!)

Love Stevie!!! Very cool to see him - I have to admit that I fast fwd'd a little bit because I was SOOOO anxious to get to the final result. I knew the judges wouldn't use it. But I'm betting they would have used the save if Matt was the last one standing! PHEW! That was TOO CLOSE! Good thing I voted for him a ton last night! :winking:

 

They did not save Michael, no surprise there. I've been sappy with people going in past seasons, but so far not this year, except for Alexis. I liked her a lot and looked forward to seeing her more. Anyway, I'm not really "attached" to anyone this season to have a lot of feelings for them. Not sure why....
I really can't believe why Megan wasn't in the bottom three. Are people voting for her because she's "stunning" (per Paula)???? It can't be for her performances. :umm:

 

Come ON! How did Megan not end up in the bottom 3? Does VFW really work? I guess maybe it does with this many people left ...

Megan just bugs me SO much ... I really can't wait for her to go home!
