"You look great...

I know this is supposed to be a compliment and I'm just being sensitive. But I've gotten this twice in the last two days.
Ugh. Can't people HEAR themselves!

I put on 5 pounds while my mom was in town and I feel crappy enough as it is without strangers commenting on my post-babies figure!!!

 

I'm sorry! :hug99: I would almost be tempted to say "You look pretty good too for being so out of shape." and smile blandly.

How about just "You look Great!!"

 

I don't know why but this comment does not bother me. I hear how it bothers others all of the time. I guess I'm just grateful for the compliment. I don't feel that great about myself and my body so I'll take the compliment however it comes. I do think they mean it well even though it sounds a little off. I guess you could say "So, if I just had one I wouldn't look great?"

 

I haven't gotten it since I had the girls, but when I was pregnant I got it all the time. It realy bothered me. What, if I wasn't pg with twins, just one baby, I would look like crap?

 

When people say that I always take it to mean that I look wonderful and they would have never guessed I had given birth to twins.
