When did everyone start their babies on yogurt?

wholesomebabyfood.com says 8mo is ok so I just wanted to know what everyone did.

    Thanks!!

Mine were 8 months when I gave them the Yo Baby yogurt. They hated it :(

My ped said that it was ok at 6 months. DS loves it and DD hates it. I do find that it is filling for him and sometimes he'll reject a bottle for some time after it. I have found that he likes the ones with fruit and cereal mixed in best, but I've given him the plain and mixed in fruit as I fed it to him.

HTH! All peds are so different.

We started ours at 7 months. I feed them regular vanilla yogurt though, the yobaby is too expensive.

I was wondering about this myself. N & M have had ear infections for 8/6 weeks. They're now on their 4/3 antibiotic (Z-pack). I bought some Activia last night but started second guessing my decision this morning. Anyone know if Activia is too different than regular yogurt?

if it has acidophilus in it, that should help with the antibiotics. Activia has probiotics (the bifidus actiregularis) but I don't see any acidophilus.

I'd also be wary of giving them a low-fat yogurt, I'd try to stick to whole milk yogurts for now, but that's just my opinion.

6 Months, they hated it! They still hate it. They do LOVE the new 'yogurt melts' so I am pretty sure it's a texture thing not a taste aversion. The melts are not messy either. They are great while out and about, a bit pricy for what they give you in the bag, but worth it.

I just started giving them YoBaby this last week. They don't really like it, but I will keep trying.

We got the ok at 6 months since they were both on antibiotics. But only for the whole milk kind.

I tried at 10 months old and they both threw up. They HATED it. I personally hate yogurt myself and would never eat it, but I know it is good for them.

I tried again about a month ago (at almost 2 yrs) . I would mix a little yogurt with pureed fruit to gradually introduce it, until they were eating it plain. Now they like it.

We started at 7 months with yobaby. It took a couple of times, but they love it now!

6 months as per our PED and they love it. We just buy regular low fat yogurt in the big tub. Sometimes we also buy Yobaby or La Creme.

Remember it should be full fat. No low fat stuff!
