The pedi said I could give my Lo's yogurt. Well both like it, however they both are pooping pellet like stool and my DD threw up after. Does this sound like its out for yogurt? Im not sure if its the yogurt or the cereal that has caused the hard stool, its oatmeal beacuse rice caused constipation when they were doing it for reflux. I havent given them much solids ( pears, greenbeans, peas, sweet pots and apples), they havent had a reaction from any except the stool.

    Any suggestion?

it could be a reaction to the yogurt - my girls BMs got wonky when we started them on dairy. i usually just stopped the new food for about a week, or until things seemed back to normal, then i would re-introduce the new food & see how they did. it took a couple of times of starting/stopping but eventually we were able to incorporate it no problem. GL!

We didn't start yogurt until we had tried all the basics. I would probably wait a week and try again. If you get the throwing up again, I'd stop for about a month.

I would stop for a couple of weeks and try and re-introduce it and see how it goes. It they do the same thing, then you know they arent ready for it.

If they have hard poops with the oatmeal, try adding some applesauce or pears to it.

My LOs started on yoghurt at 9 months and DS loves it. When he sees the pot, he gets so excited! DD seemed to like it to begin with but now doesn´t. I mix some in her fruit puree and she eats it fine. If I give it to her seperately, it makes her gag and/or be sick.

I would give them more pears, oranges, etc to help with the stools. (FYI: I live in Spain where oranges are given from 6 months onwards. Im not sure if it´s the same in the US). Do you offer them water or juice in-between meals?

As PPs have said, maybe hold off the yoghurt for a few days and see if you see any changes. GL!

I agree with the other pp. I would wait and introduce it later. I am just now giving ds yogurt with fruit. I buy the organic unsweetened yogurt..baby yogurt is loaded with sugar. Dd has a milk allergy so she cannot have it. Goodluck!

We just started yogurt 2 weeks ago (at 8 months). They both like - we also use the whole milk plain yogurt. Sometimes I mix fruit and/or oatmeal into it, but they like it either way. Maybe they just aren't ready for it yet? I would also continue with some of the more basic fruits and veggies, and then try the yogurt again in several weeks. GL!
