i think someone already asked this recently, but i'm too lazy to go look for it. my girls are 7 1/2 months, and i let them taste a tiny bit of my yogurt whenever i eat it,and tey LOVE it. when is it safe to give them yogurt? i know that the yo-baby is the same stuff as regular yogurt - just in smaller containers and more expensive.
so when didyou start giving your babies yogurt?

We started at 8 months, and Yo-baby is actually the only yogurt made with Whole Milk. That's why it is recommended to babies over other yogurts. It is overpriced, though. I buy the one with rice cereal and DHA so it makes it a tiny more justifiable....lol

We started at 6 months as per our Ped. Keep in mine Yobaby is not the same as regular yogurt as it is made with whole milk and babies need whole milk, not lowfat. It also doesnt have added sweetners and stuff.

At Costco you can get 12 containers for $6. Not too bad!

We started at 6 months. The yobaby has no added sugars or sweetners. DS loves it and the ones with cereal and fruit seem to be more appealing. If I get the plain I mix in fruit. DD doesn't like it so much.

Stonyfield farms also makes a large container of plain whole milk yogurt, as does Dannon but it's hard to find the Dannon at my regular grocery. I will buy it b/c it's a little cheaper (not much) and mix my own fruit puree in b/c yobaby does have some added sugars, just not as much as lowfat yogurt.

That was me! I asked about the yogurt (great minds think alike!!). I just bought some yobaby and they are going to try it tomorrow. I cant wait! I love yogurt I hope they will too.

    I think I paid $4 for a 6pack at Stop & Shop.

My pediatrician gave the go ahead and 6+ months. We started around 7+ months. You do need to give them whole milk yogurt, but it doesn't have to be yo baby. YB is expensive so I buy a large container of plain at Trader's Joes for a lot less and add my own fruit to it. I think Stoneyfield has a whole milk yogurt that is Brown Cow or something. You can get it in the big container, but TJ's is still cheaper by me.

Lucky you! My Costco doesn't have it. I have looked and looked and looked for any kind of whole milk yogurt and nada!

We've done Yo Baby yogurt since about 6 month. My boys LOVE it! Regular yogurt seems a bit more tart to them, although I don't usually buy it because of artificial sweeteners and excessive sugar.

Costco just got it like 2 weeks ago so you may get lucky now. The guy stocking shelves said it was a new product! I guess he felt the need to tell me as I was dancing for joy in the aisles when I saw it.

Yep, you can just buy a big container of whole milk yogurt and mix in your own fruit and cereal. Much cheaper, and also, you can control whether or not it has sugar.

With my first DS, I actually bought a yogurt machine and made my own...sounds crazy, I know, but it tastes SO much better than store-bought (even YoBaby!), and that way I could control the amount of sugar, etc.

I think we started yogurt around 6 months.

Yo baby is NOT the only whole milk yogurt out there, and it actually has MORE sugars than a lot of other options. I buy Nancy's Organic Whole Milk yogurt, plain, and I mix it with real fruit or baby food fruit. They love it :)
