We're not in the 2nd year yet, but I thought I'd ask over here, as I'm purchasing with next year's needs in mind... The days of the snap n go are soon going to be over, so I'm trying to figure out what to do next.

We do have a sbs umbrella stroller (Chicco Twin Trevvi), but I don't really love it. Our sidewalks are pretty bumpy around here, lots of curbs to go over, etc., the canopy's awful (luckily the protect-a-bub helps with that), and the babies never look all that comfortable in it (though they seem fine)

So, I was thinking of getting either a jogger, such as the BOB Duallie Revolution, for walks around the neighborhood, etc., and keep the Chicco in the back of the car for shopping, etc. (once the snap n go can't be used anymore). Or, I was thinking of getting something like the Mountain Buggy Urban Double or the City Mini Double to use for both purposes.

I don't jog anymore, so I don't need a true jogger necessarily. I have a Honda CRV. So, it's not tiny, but not a minivan, either.

Any advice as to what you'd recommend for me, I'd appreciate.

I like the bob. I am not a jogger either but I use it everywhere. It is so easy to manuver on any surface and I find that it is lite and easy to take anywhere especially when you pop the back tires off. I haven't used or seen the other two so I can't comment on them. The bob has shocks which makes going on rough surfaces a lot nicer and going over curbs is very easy to. It also folds nice and compact compared to some of the other strollers I have had. good luck with your search.

I am a runner and I would vote BOB hands down! However my DH wouldn't let me buy one, so I can only live vicariously through you.

I have a single BOB though that I bought for my singleton and love it.

I have a BOB (not a runner) and our sidewalks are very bumpy and it is great for walks around the neighborhood. It does take up a lot of space in the back of our car (we have a Sienna minivan). It is difficult to get it around narrow aisles in the supermarket and stores in the mall and that is probably my only complaint about it. I find it easy to fold up and unfold so that is a huge plus for me.

We love our Mountain Buggy Urban Double and I would recommend it in a heartbeat -- however, they are very expensive. (We got ours used 3 years ago and it was still $300! New retail price is around $750.) I still think it's worth it if you use the stroller a lot -- it's probably the single most important piece of baby/kid gear we own.

The Bob Revolution Duallie is very similar to the MB, it just differs in a few of the details. It's significantly cheaper, though still pricey at around $580. (One friend told me she thinks the Bob is not quite as sturdy and well made, but I haven't used one so I don't know firsthand.) The canopy on the Bob is actually better than on the MB because it angles down in front. We used something like the Protect-a-Bub until our twins were toddlers and wouldn't tolerate it anymore.

The MB is heavy and doesn't fold very flat. I can lift it into the trunk of our station wagon, but it's not easy. (It would be easier if I were taller, but I'm fairly strong for a short person. ) So if you did go with that, it would still be a good idea to keep the SBS for shopping.

I don't know anything about the City Mini, so I can't comment on that! Good luck with the decision.

We never got the need for a heavier jogging stroller. I guess it really depends on what you're looking for and if you're planning on doing a lot of walks etc. We wanted something light and not too bulky that would still be fine on pavement without costing a fortune so the city mini double was an easy choice for us.

I LOVE our Citi Mini. It's easy to maneuver through stores and doorways, it's light and easy to open and fold, doesn't take up a lot of room in my car (I have a Honda Odyssey), and it's great on walk too! There is something called the Citi Mini Micro out now, I know nothing about it, but it might be worth checking out:) Good luck:)

Hi, I have a mountain buggy. Here in NZ we have very little choice with double strollers - pretty much the MB or the phil & teds side by side. Performance wise the MB works well. It is heavy but folds down well - my friend has one and drives a CRV so they certainly fit in the boot. To be honest I generally use a cheap umbrella folder but my girls are small rather than the MB unless we are doing a big off road walk. It fits through all standard door ways and I really like how the handle bars turn down when you are in a tight spot.

The phil & ted's side by side is narrower (not that you asked but in case this was one you hadn't thought of)

I LOVE our BOB! It was highly recommended here so we got it and we couldn't be happier. It is the only stroller we use anywhere and it has worked out just fine whether in the park or in the mall. Love it!

We love our City Mini. It's great on bumpy sidewalks, folds up very easily and fits through every door. It's also quite light compared to many doubles. We havea CRV too and it fits there very easily with plenty of room to spare.
