Yet another Disneyworld question

Through my fairly complicated family dynamics, it seems that my parents may meet up in February with my brother's child who lives in Panama while my parents vacation in Florida. There is talk of a Walt Disney Trip at that time. Now I know Florida can be freaking cold then and all so I'm not positive it is the right choice for us (as we will also be visiting my parents at the same time) but there are other factors to consider.

First, is 2.5 too young for Walt Disney World?
Second, they don't watch any tv so will it be meaningful to them? They won't know any of the characters.

    Any thoughts on this?
    Thanks

I know a lot of our members do Disney parks with their kids pretty young. But my family thinks that 4 is too young (I'm DYING to take them!) so we are waiting till a bit closer to 5. I guess I was 6 when I went and all the walking and stuff was a big downer for me apparently. So....just depends. Are you going to be able to enjoy YOURSELVES because your kids won't know any better. I'm sure there are a few rides they can go on. But I'm no expert!!! BY A LONG SHOT!

I'm the wrong person to ask. My 4 year old are about to go back to WDW for the 6th time. I will be taking a stroller for my girls, I have not used my double stroller since last December when we went to disney (noticed yesterday it still has the airline gate check on it)
I think before age 3 is a great time to go since they are free, including at the buffet and family style restaurants on WDW property. There are so many rides that they can do, plus the shows are so fun for them.
Feel free to ask me any WDW questions.

My family is big into Disney and Disney World. My parents are actually taking each set of grandkids, and me, dh and ds are up in January. DS will be 3.5 years old and I can already tell he is going to have a blast.

I don't think it is too young at all. Make sure to hit Mickey's Toon Town that is geared more towards little children. There are also tame rides that you could take them on in other areas - Flying Dumbo, Aladdin's Magic Carpets, It's a Small World, Jungle Cruise, Liberty Belle Cruise, etc. There is so much to see, I am sure ds would have loved it even if we had gone at 2.5 yrs.

Also, if you and another adult you are with want to ride some of the bigger rides, they have some type of special policy where the person who waits with the child/stroller can ride the next round without having to wait in line again.

The best part about January/February - it is a down time with less people... especially if you go on a weekday. I looked it up - should be in the low 70s, which sounds ideal to me. I'm from SC and summer heat is too much!!

If you decide to go, I hope you have a blast!!!

It might not be cold. Florida weather is fickle. It could just be a really nice day.

That being said, I think your kids would have a blast. It's just such a fun place. . .

Of course they're not too young! We took the boys 2 weeks after they turned two and had a great time! I am itching to go back already! Sure, it's a lot of work for mom and dad than if they were older or if you went without them, but I loved being there with them and watching them enjoy different aspects of the experience. Bryan loved the characters (they're like real life stuffed animals!!!) :D Joel loved the rides-- he had such a fit when Dumbo came to an end! The weather in Feb in Florida can be cold, but it also can be very pleasant. I just noticed you're from Canada, so likely, it will feel WARM to you!! Go check out the average temps for Orlando on weather.com if you want a better idea, but I'd certainly go, and I'm a cold blooded southerner! I say GO!!! You'll have a great time!

ETA- we don't have cable, so they can't watch Mickey Mouse clubhouse or anything, but we did let them watch a few DVDs and we read a lot of books w/ Mickey and the gang. The first time B saw Mickey he just screamed at the top of his little lungs, "Key-Key MOOOUUSEEE!!!!!" It was awesome to see how excited he was!

My girls first visit was at 2.5 and 1 year. They had a great time. I must be honest...we got to the parks right when they opened and lefted by 2 or 3 each day they were done!! On the first visit we were there for a week, so leaving early didn't bother anyone. My kids loved WDW, many rides for all kids. In the last month we did 2 different visits, both for 2 days one at Epcot and one WDW. They had such a blast.
