Yeast Infection

hi has anyone had a yeast infection in their pregnancy.

at 24 weeks and 3 days I have been diagnosed with a yeast infection. the doctor feels it was caused by the antibiotics i took for the uti!!!!

if anyone has had one during their pregnancy, let me know what they took to cure it.

Is it bothering you? I had one early on -- maybe around 12 or 14 weeks -- but didn't know it until the OB mentioned it. They said I didn't need to treat it unless it was irritating me....

But, I think any over-the-counter inserts and creams are fine -- the OB said she preferred the 3- and 7- day ones, rather than the 1-day ones.

Alternatively, you could take some probiotics (acidophilus, etc), or even apply plain yogurt directly to the area, which can help.

 

it was bothering me last night - but not today. my doctor has prescribed me a 3 day suppository and some cream. she said it is common to have it during the 2nd trimester.

 

I had one early on and used the otc cream, but the nurse told me not to insert it too far.

I had one from antibiotics when I was in the hospital on bedrest and they gave me the pill for it.

I had one during my last pregnancy. My OB said the same as Becca...I just used the Monistat 3 day.

 

I got one from the antibiotics I was on when I was admitted to the hospital. The OB refused to let me have any creams for it because of my short cervix issue. I couldn't believe I was going to have to suffer with this for the rest of my pregnancy - and I was only at 26 weeks. I asked the Peri about it and he was surprised the OB was going to let it go untreated. He gave me a Diflucan and it was gone in a day.
