My boys are 2 months old… this week (the last few days) they have been eating at 12, 4 8 and 12 again (they fell into this schedule on there own)… my DH thinks we should try to change it so they eat 10, 2 and 6… it fits our family schedule better…but I am soooo happy to have predictability in there schedule now… I don’t care what hours they fall on and I’m scared trying to change it will mess it all up.
What would you do? Do you think it’s even possible this young?

    Thanks,
    Elizabeth

You can certainly try and see if they will take to it. If it doesn't work, just stick with how you have been doing it. I don't think there is any harm in trying. You are incredibly lucky to have some sort of a schedule at that age, my girls were all over the place at 2 months old!

 I'm not sure what I would do, but you are soooo lucky to have a schedule this early!

I called myself the schedule nazi when my kids were tiny. I didn't relax about it with any of them until about two years old! When I needed to shift the feeding schedule, I did it by ten minute increments at a time. So to change your schedule I'd feed them at 11:50, 3:50, 7:50 and 11:50 for a few days. Then shift to 11:40, 3:40, 7:40, 11:40 for a few days, etc. If they take to it well the first day or so you could try fifteen or twenty minute increments every day until you are where they want to be. I found that if I shifted their entire day a little at a time, they didn't even notice. I still do that! If I need them to take an early nap, I feed them lunch early. They typically go down about an hour after lunch so if lunch is early then their bodies are ready for nap earlier. Good luck!

I also think that's really great that they are predictable at that age! You can always try. Let us know how it turns out.

Wow. I am impressed they are on a schedule. I would keep with it probably but that is just me. I have found that with mine, if something works, stick with it.

Like pp's said if you do change it, shift it gradually. GL and let us know how it goes.

Thanks everyone… last night they went almost 6 hrs  … they seemed REALLY hungry at 7:30, so I caved (they are only 2 months and what’s 30 min … right) well they both ended up taken an extra oz… and were in their crib happy and awake by 8:00 pm… well we did not hear from them until 1am  !!!! Then not again until 5 am  … One is slightly chatty in there right now… but 6 Hrs!!! I know it could be a flook… but I thought that last week when they seem to hit a schedule… I’m gonna try to wait 4 hrs to feed them again so we will be closer to the schedule DH want (and he does the first night shift… want to keep him willing)

    Thanks again!!!
