My last day of work is October 15. I'll be home with the kids, and I'm going to start school in January. I am going to work towards my nursing degree. I am obviously excited and VERY NERVOUS! I sure hope I made the right decision.....

Taking the leap is always nerve wracking but you never get anywhere you want to go without a little faith!
    Good luck!

Best of luck to you! My sister went back to school about 4 years ago for a nursing degree as well. She has been an ER nurse now for 2.5 years and loves it. And I like having a nurse in the family I can go to. :good:

I know two people who quit their jobs in their 30s and went into nursing. They are VERY happy with their decision. I tought about it when I returned to school this past summer to finish my bachelors degree, but I have to herniated discs in my back so I know I could not physically do what hospital nurses do. Good luck in school and enjoy the time with your kids before you start.

Going back to school is scary, but I am proved to myself it can be done. I got a 4.0 GPA my first quarter and made the dean's list all with working and having toddler twins at home. Just try to stick to a study/homework schedule once you start; mine was whenever they were sleeping. It can be done.

I think you made a great choice! I am a nurse and it is such a great job to have when you have kids, I work around my husbands schedule and my MIL's schedule and I never need a babysitter or daycare and still get in 24 hours/week. :) Best of luck and enjoy being back in school :) :)

I think you made the right choice! Best of luck to you! My friend just finished her nursing degree in May of 2008, she loves it. It's a great schedule for her right now, they just had their third child and she basically works 12 hour shifts Fri, Sat, and Sun and is home the rest of the week with the kids. Her mom comes down on weekends to help her hubby out with the kids.
